it would be interesting if the Martian sophonts actually did get to modern day human level, but catastrophically fucked over the planet so bad that they went extinct. mars has way more carbon stuck in its permafrost so an event that would be like the termination shock on earth just fries the planet and all the sophonts die. mars’ biosphere recovers by modern day but we find fossils of a modern society. would be interesting

in a sort of mapper's block rn so im going to test mapmaking style ability by reviving tall america while trying to improve on this old style i used last year. get the juices going. i dont think ill post very many wips here since its not ebu related. but i just want to work the aesthetic muscles to make sure i havent let them rot away too much

maybe after 2057 we see some of the outer solar system gyropowers (and maybe even some from rotesht) try to set up shop on mars since they consider the treaty null and void. would be a fun way of directly mixing earth and rotesht colonialism

the third most popular religion on rotesht will be like. an abstracted form of sun worship. since there's two suns it would take the form of two opposing deities upholding the balance of the world. one for the great acts of goodness (a cen a) and one for the more subtle acts of the uniberse (a cen b). maybe they also worship a meager third deity symbolised through houtu that upholds the unknown or the dark and mysterious that the two main mfs cannot see. or maybe like. it could handle the "necessary evils' like death or misfortune that keep the universe running. it would only be like. *symbolised* by the objects, though. the deities would have been abstracted past their connection to the heavenly bodies, unlike in blueism where it went the other way and houtu was infused with deityhood

religion is also ancient like blueism, and like many human religions it is rooted in psychadelics (that only work on gyrotasse. if humans eat them it’s like hyper benadryl and makes you go insane) but it’s so old that they’ve abstracted a bit further from the concept of deities than most human religions, instead worshipping the psychedelic geometry itself. there are lower level spirits? servants? that are also part of the cosmology and are often tied to geographic locations due to how individualised they are

it’s so abstract that all they really do is pay reverence to the “deity” pldok as it is inherently beyond their comprehension, which they embrace. however there’s still likely moral doctrine dating back to fifty thousand years ago just like with blueism. they probably justify it using the spirits. likely also matriarchal as rotesht as a whole kinda leans that way
