London: Okan
Brixton Village! What a happening Ā place. Feels a bit like Bugis Village but erm, much rougher? We had Okonomiyaki and it was quite authentic. Worth a visit in the day with friends to explore a part of London that isnāt hmmā¦too English? š
Take the Jubilee line till the end stop, Brixton. Brixton Village with all wide array of food are all housed within. š

London: Abbey Cafe
Abbey Cafe is located near Abbey studio where the famous Abbey crossing is (picture of Beatles crossing). We had chicken skewers, falafel and salad for just 10.50 pounds. It was a filling lunch in a simple little cafe. I wonāt recommend it for chilling or working, but itās definitely worth it for lunch if you are nearby š

London: Peppermint Cafe

A sleek cafe away from the buzz. I would highly recommend this cafe if you want to be away from the crowd and get some work/reading done. Though itās a little out of the way, you could still get there by tube along the Jubilee line. Had hazelnut latte that is a little sweeter than norm but perfectly awesome as dessert and for a peaceful afternoon with a book/writing. Highly recommended š

London: Restaurant Story

The most expensive meal I have spent on myself ā 197 pounds. The longest lunch I ever had ā 4.5 hours. I wonāt say the food is to die for. It is of high quality, different, special, but Iām not impressed by most of it. My favourite is probably the bread dip in melted butter and the Paddington Bear āsandwichā. The wine pairing was an excellent choice though. I enjoyed the wine and cocktailā¦

I donāt have much interest in spending on food at Michelin star restaurants but well, for the experience and exposure, this is one of two of my Michelin experience in London.
The lunch menu is Ā£35 for a three course meal. Pretty reasonable prices given how they ātop upā additional sides and sweets on top of what you have ordered. Of course, if you are feeling rich, you could go for the tastingā¦

Lord's Cricket Ground
Lordās Cricket Ground

My dear friend won a pair of tickets to a cricket match at Lordās Cricket Ground. Gosh, our very attempt to do something British. I donāt know anything about Cricket but that is precisely what makes the experience so memorable. The first thing that stood out was we were the few ladies around. Such a āgentlemenā sport eh. I was clueless of the scoring etc. and was not quite keen to figure it out.ā¦

Theatres: The LionĀ King

I have watched this in SG a couple of years ago. I remember enjoying it a lot. This time though, I was not very impressed. Not sure if itās watching it a second time or that itās the cast that made the difference? Hmm. Just glad that I got his at 23 pounds. Cosā if not, I donāt find that itās worth the money. =/ Or maybe itās the weather? It was a cold rainy dayā¦

Theatres: Harry Potter & The CursedĀ Child

I didnāt read the script when it was published a few years back. I thought to myself, āwhy bother? Leave things as it has endedā. But when I came to London, I often walked pass Palace Theatre otw to Foyles or Chinatown. Knowing that tickets are hard to get, I wasnāt too bothered about going through the trouble to get it. One fine day, I just dropped by the box office on my way to Foyles, andā¦

Toronto: Koyoi

2 Irwin Ave, Toronto, ON M4Y 1K9 http://www.koyoi.ca
This is a modest place tucked along Irwin Ave. It serves basic grills and often, whiskey, sake and a couple of mains. I like it because they serve Ochazuke which is not commonly served in most Japanese restaurant. My friend had the udon and itās one of the best I have had overseas thus far. Worth a visit if you donāt need a huge spread š
