quotes that help me:
“love yourself instead of the idea of other people loving you.”
“sometimes people hate you because of the way other people love you.”
“you’re value doesn’t decrease based on the someone’s inability to see your worth.”
“you are not weak for needing time to sort through this.”
“admire someone’s beauty without questions your own.”
“goal: to make an income while making an impact.”
“real queens fix each other’s crowns”
“it’s ok to not be ok, but it’s not ok to stay that way.”

it’s easy to fall into darkness:
six not-so-easy steps to get out
don’t let it consume you
talk yourself out of the darkness
you are the only one who can help yourself in the end
but rely on people, you’re not by yourself
cry it out, drain yourself of the sadness and fill it with something that makes you happy
take time to figure out who you are

your mistakes don’t define you
as a child of asian immigrants, my standards of perfection are high.
my parents saw going to america as a second chance for them and they want their children to be the best they can be.
my grades are a big part of this “second chance” my parents wanted.
i, made a mistake today on a test that could potentially bring my grade down. the thing is, this is my first time ever doing so.
so why am i so scared? why am i scared of being human because all humans make mistakes.
these mistakes don’t define you.
you make your own impression.

(credit to the artists, the art is theirs not mine)
what is perfection?
really, what made people think that something is perfect?
the world isn’t perfect, i’m not perfect, you’re not perfect.
my world, my character, has been tainted by the standards society set up for us to reach. but the thing is, we are society.
so my question is, what’s the point? what is the point of trying so hard to be perfect when we obviously can never reach the standards. why do we let other people define our own perfection? why do we let them set up standards we can never reach?
what is the point of trying, when you can give no effort and be yourself?
