The Cold War Trump Waged Against America

“Mission Accomplished”

Borrowing from an infamous quote from a different reality, in a different time; today, these words are again applicable.

However this time, the phrase is not being spoken by a U.S. President; instead, Vladimir Putin can boast victory. Masterfully manipulating the sheep grazing on American social media; exploiting a suspicious and fearful public with an insatiable desire for conspiracy theory and social acceptance. Fanning the flames of American social and economic class division; and instigating hate and racism against minorities and immigrants.

More importantly, Putin managed to manipulate(?) coerce(?) ally with(?) Donald Trump to be the face and voice of Russia’s coup on democracy and autonomy in America. This not a Cold War waged by Russia specifically on America; Russia has been on a worldwide campaign for some time; Trump was the right man at the right time for Russia, and Putin took full advantage of it.

For the last three and a half years, Donald Trump has been implementing and executing policies; creating and abolishing laws; proclaiming Executive Orders; which echo Putin’s totalitarian style of governance. Subsequently, Trump has so lowered the bar of the expected and acceptable behavior of The U.S. President; that Americans have gone from anger, to shock, to acceptance. Trump has adopted Twitter as his personal platform to communicate with the world. Using Twitter as a Velcro wall; throwing out outrageous tweets of accusation, insults and conspiracy theories; seeing which one them sticks. Most of the time these tweets are a diversion to create outrage and control the narrative. A distraction from his gross mismanagement of the country; and the clandestine, subversive operations of his Administration.

The global pandemic is an historically dark time for America; aside from the inept leadership shown by the Trump Administration; the magnitude of the needless loss of human life will forever be a stain on American history. The pandemic has exposed the socio-economic discrimination of minorities in America, the wealth gap between the classes and has forced citizens to choose between their health and their paycheck. Instead of rising to the task before him, Trump exploited the fear and misery of the American people for political gain. Using this tragedy as an opportunity to divide and conquer America.

Donald Trump has almost successfully reformed America into a violent, autocratic apartheid. Supported by a dubious cast of characters; most of which are not really loyal to the president, or the country; all exploiting Trump’s evil charisma for their own personal power and wealth. Enabling Trump to retain just enough power to keep his morbid stranglehold on America. A second term Trump; combined with the possibility of a returning Republican dominated Senate; would not only permanently redefine the identity and civil freedoms of America; but would alter the social and political dynamic of a world already under attack by the threats to global democratic peace and the freedoms of humanity.

America is holding on hope for a sweeping change in the 2020 November elections. Removing Trump from office; but also shifting the balance of power in the U.S. Senate. Even with this occurring, the damage has been done. Trump will have left very deep scars as he scorched the earth of American society. Some scars will never heal; some will take decades of real commitment to heal. If democratic America defeats its Puppet President; the recovery and reformation of America will be the greatest challenge the country has ever faced. America’s future as a world leading democratic society is at stake; the legacy of America is at stake; this election is really about whether Americans think either of those risks becoming reality, are worth fighting for anymore.                                                                                                                         (Earth Voice – 2020)
