an.rost (https://www.facebook.com/iamanrost) is an Portuguese composer focused on electronic music. his musical work is an exploration beyond standard sounds and musical forms. embracing the beauty of imperfection, an.rost often tries to place the listener in ambiguous scenarios through a dichotomy between rough sonorities and smooth developments.

aska is the first release from an.rost, composed in the last trimester of 2013. using found sound, field recordings and synthesis, aska is a journey through memory and reality of doubts raised by the dust of old ideas.

Haarvöl

Haarvöl, a collective project based in Portugal with three permanent members, has been active in the field of experimental music since the end of 2012.

 Haarvöl’s music is conceptually developed in the exploration of the properties of sounds in order to achieve cinematic and imaging environments. Hence the emphasis on non-illustrative interaction of sounds with images, which is evident in the videos purposely prepared for certain compositions and that can be viewed on the Vimeo page of the project (*). 

The sounds are not restricted to their medial origins: both digital and analog sources are used and mixed.

Tar Feather

    Tar Feather is a portuguese leftfield project responsible for an obtuse approximation to house and techno music, producing tracks that involve orthodox dance music in a cocoon of muddy drones and crackled drums.

Palmer Eldritch

Palmer Eldritch are an enigmatic duo. They explore electronic music using microscopic textures, dreamy synths and danceable beats in a non-danceable context resulting in a both appealing and otherworldly music. They were first featured in The Wire Tapper 27 compilation in 2011, followed by a conceptual series of three EPs in 2012. Their  work has been highlighted by publications such as The Wire and Decoder.

Blac Koyote

Blac Koyote is José Alberto Gomes, half of the portuguese duo Nimai, who decided to build a space of his own, beat by beat, layer upon layer, melody upon melody, experience upon experience, converging in a place that gathers all the electronics that populate his imagination, slowly built upon, in complicity with his various influences. Blac Koyote is one of the leading names of the new generation of portuguese electronic musicians.

The Astroboy

The Astroboy is a solo project by Luís Fernandes.  Drone, timbric exploration and contemplative soundscapes built from analog synthesis and digital manipulation are the elements we can find in “A derrota da engrenagem” (2007, test tube/lovers and lollypops), “090309” (2009, Cobra) and “The Chromium Fence” (2011, PAD/Easy Pieces). His work has been highlighted by publications such as The Wire, The Liminal, No Fear of Pop, Visitation Rites and The Arts Desk.
