i've realized that the reasons many give for why landoscar isn't like brocedes have nothing to do with the lore and context of brocedes and more with how mclaren approaches the landoscar rivalry. i mean, the reason there are no stakes, no tension, no drama is because the team smooths out any rough edges in private and for the cameras they're all family. the team has corrected any hint of tension that was seen a few times last year and the pr is stronger than ever.

lando today didn't even have the chance to be frustrated about losing the lead because then he had to do an interview with oscar and tell him that he'd been supporting him in the race or something like that lol i'm telling you, there isn't a driver who is genuinely happy about their teammate taking the lead in the standings.

the fluffy and boring relationship of landoscar is clearly pushing by mclaren, those guys are barely friends and i think they have enough background to have something rancid. i just hope that one of the two gets crazy and shows that frustration, conveniently both of them, please.

Realistically, If McLaren are all WCC worried like they are, they would've worried about getting the most points this weekend. As a Ferrari fan, I'm glad that maybe they left the midfield, but the midfield never left them lol. Either way I don't think Oscar could've passed Max but I think possibly (a huge maybe) he could've forced him into a mistake. For Max I think Oscar's more of a wildcard, Max knows Oscar seems aggressive whenever going for the win (Monza 2024, Baku 2024, Australia 2025) as Max already kind of knows Lando well enough to predict some of his moves (Austria 2024, Austin 2025). No hate to either drivers, but just my opinion. Great for Ferrari if McLaren don't capitalize on the fastest car because mid-season upgrades are always a gamble and can completely change the WCC and the WDC.

I know mclaren is unable to capitalize but everyone blames them for the wrong reasons because of agendas xd

Actually mclaren didn’t lose the chance to win the race by not doing the swap, oscar wasn't even faster than lando so it was highly unlikely that he could do anything, so the only way they had to win was by trying to do an undercut, but an undercut wasn’t very likely either, so they preferred to pit oscar first and just keep the 2-3 than try an undercut and have oscar lose position… i mean, it’s true that they didn’t take any risks, but not for the reasons everyone says lol

Why should Oscar have to give up a potential win to benefit Lando though? There was no harm in giving it a try. There was no threat from 4th place and they could’ve just switched back if Oscar couldn’t make a move on Max.



Why would lando give up a position he'd earned on his own merit to let oscar pass him when we're only in the third race of the season? oscar qualified behind his teammate and then couldn't overtake him. no one's holding him back; he was free to race lando. right now mclaren isn't just in a position to win the wcc, so if both of their drivers are rivals for the wdc, it makes sense to let them race.

you’re missing that the idea was Oscar could try and fight Max and go for the win which would be worth it and then if he couldn’t, he was willing to swap back with Lando as to not affect the standings. 

It wasn't worth swapping positions when the probability of overtaking was so low. the funniest thing about this is that if it were the other way around, everyone would be saying that lando should earn the position and that they shouldn't "gifting" him anything 😩

I think you’re seeing this too much from Lando’s perspective. At this point of the season there is no reason for him to be favoured, or to call the shots. McLaren’s priority should be to try and accumulate as many points as they can in case another team brings good upgrades and starts competing with them in the wcc. In that last stint Oscar was faster, and since Lando wasn’t able to try anything they might as well let Oscar have a go, because at least there’d be more of a chance of Oscar pressuring Max than Max making a mistake on his own. Lando’s opinion shouldn’t matter here to McLaren because he was slower, and the priority is maximizing team points, not Lando points.

My post is from lando's perspective because there are many who think that the scenario where oscar won benefited him too, and that doesn't make any sense, but anyway, to answer the rest:

the data shows that lando was in fact, not slower xd why yall don't understand that overtaking was practically impossible, if oscar couldn't overtake lando it was even more unlikely that he would overtake max, and i'm sorry, but that thing about him pressuring max is just bullshit 😭 the only way mclaren could maximize points was by having a decent strategy and not pitted lando on the same lap as max

What amazed me most about the comments regarding the mclaren situation wasn't the hypocrisy regarding how people take potential team orders when they apply to oscar, but the idea that lando would somehow benefit from finishing 3rd and his teammate winning lol

Like, yeah, he would have finished about 5 points ahead of max instead of 1, but how many points would oscar have cut off his lead by winning? 😃 we don't know exactly what might happen in the next few races, but right now BOTH max and oscar are direct rivals, lando doesn't benefit from either of them finishing ahead of him, let alone both of them finishing ahead of him.This would only make sense if no one thought oscar could be a title contender, but i'm damn sure no one actually thinks that, so where does that reasoning come from?

Mclaren didn't swap places because they knew it was unlikely oscar could overtake max and the data shows that overall lando was faster. The only way mclaren could win this race is with a better qualy or a better strategy, overtaking was practically impossible.

people make disclaimers because they don’t want others to think they’re defending her, that wouldn’t happen if she weren’t problematic, that’s the thing, the issue of misogyny would be much easier to swallow if the fact that she’s not liked was only because of jealousy or her personality, not because she actually did/said questionable things. imagine telling a muslim fan that perhaps the dislike she has for magui is just misogyny.

i understand that there is a double standard of criticizing certain drivers less for problematic behavior, but the thing is that many of the people who criticize magui more are not even fans of those drivers and they have criticized them. the only thing that could be held against them is why they continue to support lando if he associates with people who seem morally impossible to tolerate for them, that is the only hypocrisy i can see here

i wonder how many followers i'd lose if i started randomly posting magui fan content. look at this model i started following recently she's the most radiant heavenly gorgeous woman i've ever seen in my life and i'm going to start supporting her on my personal fan accounts! don't worry i'm still into f1 and lando norris i'll just be doing both now x hopefully i can draw some modeling fans to f1 and vice versa :DDD what's that? this is a joke but sometimes i feel like i need to do this to make up for the large portion of lando fans who are so vile toward her... like not that any of these rich people need me to defend them, and not that i think anyone in the f1 world is perfect or even a definitively good person, but sometimes it does make me sad that if lando and magui ever go public, magui will never get the normal "she looks so beautiful! women supporting women!!" reception that f1 fans give to wags like alexandra and the lily's. and even they get tons of misogyny, as any woman in this sports space does; but the way people talk about magui is just on another level. even lando fans who aren't actively hating on her preface every statement with a disclaimer, like "i don't like her butttt maybe people should reconsider dming her death threats :/ idk just my opinion!" like do you hear yourself. did you know it's okay to be against misogyny even if that's a somehow unpopular opinion in your fan space.

the way lando fans talk about magui is insanely sexist and needs to change. it probably won't but i will still die on this hill.

(also it quite literally doesn't matter to me what she might've done or said in the past. no woman deserves misogyny. and unless she literally murdered a small child, this level of online abuse and harassment, particularly from the fanbase of the man she's been linked to, is unjustifiable and indefensible. and sexist. it's just sexist. if you're not acting this way towards any other model OR any of the men you adore, then it's sexist. and i will always be against misogyny, even if the woman isn't some perfect angelic saint of a victim—this is my stance, and it's weird if it's not yours!!!)

Trying to invalidate a lot of people's justified dislike of her doesn't seem fair to me. i think anyone would be within their rights to dislike someone who's made racist comments or is a serial cheater, so if someone says "i don't like her butttt maybe people should reconsider dming her death threats :/ idk just my opinion!" seems perfectly reasonable to me. you understand that it's not that deep and that lando can date whoever he wants, but at the same time you also understand that you don't have to like or defend whoever he's dating.

The defense of her never makes sense to me, because it's always taken from the perspective that she is only hated because she dates lando, when in reality she was already hated before she got involved with him and there are valid reasons for it, obviously she is not going to be supported or treated like other wags who have not done the same things that she is criticized for, and that's ok
