Had so much fun trying out the @blueapron Whole30 approved menu! It pushed me out of my comfort zone to try new cooking techniques ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ. This week's dinner #1 was a mexican-spiced barrimundi with a kale + sweet potato salad. My favorite part was the fresh squeezed clementine juice that marinated the kale. So fresh!! ๐Ÿ˜‹ I'll definitely be incorporating that into more meals in the future. #januarywhole30

All week long, I look forward to weekend @whole30 breakfasts ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. Today's theme was CRISPY EVERYTHING ๐ŸŽ‰. Crispy eggs. Crispy kale. Crispy sausage. Plus bloobs and basil! (The best combo) My secret to crispy everything? Good ol coconut oil ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ โ€ข โ€ข ALSO, the weekend means an extra big coffee. My coffee gets a little fancy, but I LOVE the taste and the benefits. It's day 10 of the #januarywhole30. You've made it 1/3 of the way there and you're probably so sick of food at this point... talking about food, cooking food, cleaning up after food. So at this point, keep it โœจ SIMPLE โœจ. Find the things that make it easy to stick to your @whole30 template. Tonight, for me, that meant a 15 minute dinner of kale, store bought guac, leftover sweet potatoes, leftover dressing, and taco meat. Happy whole30ing, friends! ๐Ÿ˜Š

@whole30 CRISPY PULLED PORK SALAD ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ (cause this salad makes me want to dance). Pork is the only topping, but the real magic is in the dressing. Details below ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡ โ€ข โ€ข 1/4 cup @primalkitchenfoods mayo 1/4 cup olive oil 1/4 cup @zupanoma tomatillo kale jalapeno (the real star of the show ๐ŸŒŸ) 1/2 avocado ๐Ÿฅ‘ Handful cilantro S + P โ€ข โ€ข Blend it all up, mix with greens of your choice, and top with crispy @nomnompaleo Kalua pork. Then (extra credit) drink the rest of the @zupanoma for extra greens if you're still hungry!

@whole30 tip of the day: veggies don't have to be green! ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿฅ”๐ŸŒถ๏ธ If kale, spinach, and chard, scare you, that doesn't mean that the @whole30 isn't for you. There are plenty of nutritious veggies for the green-a-phobs, including cauliflower, peppers, carrots, potatoes, summer squash, and more. This is a Moroccan chicken dish over sweet potatoes and cauli rice, from @realfoodwithdana in the new Fast & Easy Whole30 cookbook. โ€ข โ€ข That being said, I HIGHLY recommend trying out different methods of preparing and cooking your greens! Often is poor preparation that turns people off. โ€ข โ€ข Cheers to Day 3 of the #januarywhole30 !

First big learning experience of the #januarywhole30 came yesterday! It was not a fail. It was a WIN. The @whole30 is all about learning what habits you have, crutches you've been using, and your cravings (the worst ๐Ÿ‘ฟ). So bring it on, learning experiences โœŒ๐Ÿผ โ€ข โ€ข So, I meal prepped a TON yesterday, and as I always do, nibbled as I prepped. Just little bites here and there. Well it turns out, little bites of a lot of things add up to a whole meal! By the time I was done making this beautiful salmon "cous cous" cauli salad, I was already full! ๐Ÿ™ˆ Whoops! Looks like mindless munching has crept back into my routine. โ€ข โ€ข What have you learned in the #januarywhole30 so far??

This is NOT normal for me. I usually make one recipe/week, and the rest of the time I'll create different combinations of prepped meats and veggies (saves time and ๐Ÿ’ฐ). This week is mainly just because I'm so darn excited about my new @whole30 cookbooks ๐Ÿ˜ƒ โ€ข โ€ข If this is your first Whole30, KEEP IT SIMPLE. no need to go overboard and get fancy with you food.
