While the typical number of coins that can be obtained from a multi-coin block in Super Mario World is around 10, the maximum number is a surprisingly large 32, achievable by positioning Balloon Mario directly underneath the block.

A 1996 promotional booklet for Super Mario RPG from the Japanese VJump magazine contained a series of recaps of the game's plot in "Western comic" form, whereby every speech bubble was written in English with both a pronunciation guide above the words and a translation underneath.

Some dialogue seen in the comic is not based on anything seen in the game, such as Mario saying "OH, MY GOD!"

In Yoshi’s Island, whenever Yoshi eats a Fuzzy, his usual egg-laying animation will instead produce a cloud of gas. This cloud actually has a hitbox; if Yoshi is positioned in a precise way in front of an enemy during the animation, the gas will defeat the enemy.
