Ibuki: TFW you spend your childhood being bullied (you know, in japan) and when as a teenager you learn to mask enough you get possessed by an alien that gaslights you and modifies your memories to make you the perfect tool using all your negative emotions, and then when you get given a chance at redemption by the local benevolent deity, you're so unable to think of Living for yourself that you leave everything behind and travel the world looking for someone to Put You To Use and when you do find someone, they go "hm, this teenager seems desperate to be Made Useful, I can use him as a weapon in my war against my evil ex and he won't hesitate to give his life" and that's how you end up being tasked with attempting to groom *another* teenager for the Big Conflict and serving as decoy in the meantime. Also people try to kill you (and succeed in badly injuring you) multiple times, you get used as hostage and harmed as Motivation against said other teenager, and somehow you're convinced that all this is Your Fault and not that of the various people who groomed you. (Somehow, the fandom also supports this.) You should have been at the (card) club. 

Biwa: Can see the future but not change it. Woman and poor in ancient japan. Saw the fall of the family who took her in and gave her love. Eventually gets to see the spirits of the dead
