Note
A strange mobile-looking iterator notices you from a distance, they walk closer to get a better look.
"Oh.. Hello!"
"You seem.. familiar somehow.."
"Have we met before?"

[Ooc: I'm finally doing something w/ this askblog of mine, might as well as its been dead for a while lol]
The slugcat slightly drops its ears, wary.
'Hello. I do not recognize you. But perhaps our cycles overlapped in a different strand of reality?'

How exactly are we contacting you?
'It's a great question. Why do we hear voices?' the slugcat closes eyes and stays still for a while, seemingly figuring something out in their head only to frown without any more words upon opening their eyes.

The slugcat's dreams are filled with discomforting unfamiliarity and disturbing pictures of the past distorting altogether. Squidcadas and firebugs, water and void fluid, guardians and scavengers all mix features in a discorded hellscape. But through this struggle, they are finally able to move on to the next cycle.

a young slugcat approaches. though they hold a bomb in trembling paws with their ears pressed back and fearful eyes they hardly seem a threat
"hello..." they say. "I'm not sure why, but something about you seems familiar, yet also... very wrong. I was wondering if we'd met before, and are you okay?"
The slugcat looks at the young one, standing perfectly still. They seem completely paralyzed until they let out a sharp breath and shake their head, subconsciously leaning towards them. In fact, their whole body is shaking slightly now.
'You...'
'You remind me of some as well, young one. Are you lost? Don't worry about me, but the blizzard is coming and I fear you can't travel far.' the slugcat barely manages to overcome the numbness in their body to gesture towards the inside. 'Have you eaten? I have food in the shelter right here.'

So your abilities are weaker, are you still able to produce explosives? And do the scavengers still fear you?
'I think I still can, but there is no need to make any. We haven't met any scavengers yet, so we cannot confirm nor deny if their kind can sense...some familiarity.'
The slugcat looks away, frowning.
'Let's hope they can't.'

Are there any landmarks you can somewhat recognize left in your snowy world? Or has the snow obscured most of everything?
'I have vague yet fresh memories of this place...but I don't think I can recognize it that well from my... older memories.'

how does eating work out for you two? since your diets are almost opposite
'It sucks. We had to agree on eating fruit and popcorn, but it tastes terrible. Eating meat wasn't stopping me from eating fruit at times before, it's just...not that nourishing for me, and I don't like it. But we can't subject other living beings to violence for our benefit. Besides, that would be taking more than we need. So our taste in food clashes, and ends up making us nauseous from eating fruit for it's not what one half of us desires. In fact, I crave meat at times.' the slugcat scoffs, still possessing some popcorn seeds in their hand as they move it to the shelter. 'It's hard to compromise.'

The slugcat is watching the weather getting worse despite feeling their legs freezing outside.
'The blizzard...it's weird. I can sense the end of the cycle, but the cold feels weird. And yet familiar...'

How easy is it for you to stay warm outside? Does the fire powder you produce help at all?
'Not too much, but it does help contain some heat. I still need to rely on other heat sources though. It's getting colder.'

*many frozen popcorn seeds upon ye*
'Yes!'
The slugcat manically gathers seeds, although the wind isn't even picking up yet.
They run inside a structure to warm up and eat in peace, satisfying their hunger for this cycle thanks to this miraculous event.
'Not that satisfactory, but better than fruit.'

Little creatures, why have you lingered? Nothing good ever comes from lingering.
'It is a necessity for one to come back from beyond, it is a duty, a purpose. For some it's merely a worst case scenario. It's the closest I could get to satisfaction, I regret nothing.'

A presence wishes to commune with yours.
Two echoes, connected upon rebirth. A cycle - restarted, but now shared.
A cold welcome of the fallen world all over again.
[Echo reincarnation is an AU in which the Saint and the Artificer became echoes and conjoined in reincarnation. What happened exactly is unknown, but with great challenge the new slugcat must adapt and survive. You, of course, can now communicate with them through unknown means. I want to do something without having to draw a lot because that's draining. I don't have any direction right now, I just want to try something. I might abandon this blog quickly, depends on how well I'll do in my opinion.]
