Love’s First Kiss update

Since the Kickstarter, I’ve honestly been working at my job almost every day, most shifts being eleven hours long. I’m beat, ha.

But there are a few things I’d like to announce:

One is that music for the game will be done by CrysetBase.

And two, the sprite work is being completely redone by @hikukastel. Here’s a silhouette comparison.

Thank you for all your support on the Kickstarter. Unfortunately, it was bad timing, but I haven’t given up hope and this game will become a reality!

Meet Pascal Weatherly!

Smart and tactical, it's Pascal's goal to get married too Harriett Frogal regardless of their feelings for each other. It's possible marriage with Pascal would be the most beneficial for the Amphion Kingdom as his country is quite rich due to selling wool of the royal sheep.

He prefers to lead with his hornless head instead of follow his heart. Nothing is too intimidating for this ram. He's brave and dashing but a bit narcissistic. Love doesn't come easily too this suffolk ram, but once his heart is stolen, it's stolen for good.

Pascal hates smalltalk. In order to gain and keep his attention, a long drawn out conversation is necessary. He’s an intellectual and appreciates a good session of verbal jousting.

He’s seems to always be hiding something but never delves into his personal life with those he does not trust. The only thing he has admitted to is being lonely. His pride keeps his heart from breaking, but it’s not whole either.

Since being cursed, Pascal's poor eyesight was, "cured," and he no longer needs to wear glasses as a ram. His wool has been sold on the market for millions of dollars.

His name is related to Easter, chosen because Jesus is portrayed as a lamb.

Meet Caleb Lowell!

Very quiet. Caleb prefers listening to others with his overly sensitive ears. He only likes to talk when necessary, and even that isn’t much. He expects others to respect his silent behavior and in turn, doesn’t ask anything of others. It’s possible he is just shy but good at hiding it.

He’s a connoisseur of good food. Caleb is usually one of the judges of the Hundaville Seasonal Cooking Contest and quite enjoys the job. He’s not usually seen with a smile unless he is eating good food.

While a dog due to the curse, he has two pet dogs that he brings with him everywhere. He is usually not seen without his dogs or at least a picture of them. As a child, he had a service dog for social anxiety.

Caleb enjoys a good book. The smell of an old book puts him at ease and he loves getting lost in a new story. While his dream job was to always be a prosecutor had he not have been a prince, being a librarian would be his second choice.

Since the curse, his dog loving self has just become even more of a dog lover. He has tried to start a movement for all of his citizens to own a dog.

Meet Theodore Bemont!

Standing at 10′3″ and 1024 pounds, this polar bear is nothing but a teddy bear.  He’s a gentle soul with a soft touch and disapproves of anything against this. He is quite agile and delicate for his size.

As the oldest brother of five, Theodore takes his position as an older brother more seriously than he does his position as Crowned Prince. While he has decided to take up the throne to prevent his siblings from taking on such responsibilities, he doesn’t seem to want to be King.

He is an avid traveler, loving the sights and sounds of all new places. It’s no secret he wants to travel the world before his coronation, and he already has plans to go assuming he is not chosen to be the husband of Harriett Frogal.

While quite mature for his age on the surface, he has a hidden childish side to him that he only shows to those he trusts.

Since being cursed, he’s learned to love all kinds of fish and berries. His favourite thing about being a bear is how soft his fur is.

Meet Apollo Felinus!

First in line to the Nekovian Kingdom, followed by a brother and sister named Jason and Ginger, Apollo is a calm and considerate feline. This Russian Blue cat is fashion forward and always ready to give a helping paw.

During his childhood, he used to be friends with Princess Harriett Frogal, but was taken away from her once the curse was cast in order to not give him an unfair advantage at winning the Princess’ love.

Despite being a cat, he doesn’t have many cat mannerisms: cat naps bore him, fish is one of the worst dishes in the world to him, and swimming is his favourite activity.

He has a sweet tooth that can never be satiated. If it were up to him, dessert would be the only meal of the day. The only thing that he likes more than sweets is possibly Harriett.

Since being cursed, he has started a movement in the Kingdom of Nekovian to stop declawing cats and for catnip to be illegal.

Meet the cast of Love’s First Kiss!

In Love’s First Kiss, the princes five kingdoms have turned into animals and it’s up to Harriett, the main character, to revert one of them back to their human form with true love’s first kiss.

Apollo Felinus, Prince of the Nekovian and childhood friend of the main character. This princely young fellow wants to woo the main character, hoping to enter a love filled marriage with them. While he is a cat, he does not have the mannerisms of a cat: he loves to swim, dislikes the sun, and can’t stand fish. He has a huge sweet tooth that can never be satiated.

Caleb Lowell, Prince of the Hundaville. Very quiet, not seemingly wanting to take part in conversation if he can avoid it. He likes his silence and expects others to respect that. Caleb has found immense interest in the judicial system, leading to him being a justice driven prince. He is always warm.

Leverett Rabeau, Prince of the Lapion Kingdom. Very cynical about the curse he is under and detests the fact that he is both a rabbit and a prince. Always wanted to be a doctor. His long ears are supposedly the most sensitive in the kingdom, causing him to have frequent headaches. Likes almost nothing.

Pascal Weatherly, Prince of the Oaiennis Kingdom. With a thirst for knowledge, this ram has studied everything and anything, being one of the smartest in his kingdom. He is quite wealthy and knows it, just looking for a political marriage. He used to wear glasses as a human but doesn’t seem to need them as a ram.

Theodore Bemont, Prince of the Ursus Kingdom. A brotherly type fella who loves getting along with people of all shapes and sizes. Is much more gentle than you would think compared to his size. He doesn’t seem ready for marriage and instead would like to travel around the world, not cursed hopefully.

Lin Moriyama

Part time model and vice president of the student council, Lin has a sharp tongue and sassy attitude to boot. While being a transfer student from a, “foreign land,” she has quite the influence over the students of Itadoki... not to mention the attentions of many students.

It’s apparent she’s obsessed with cats, one of her favourite icons being Apollo Cat, a gray cat from a locally based fairy-tale.

There is nothing she hates more than Eriko, as well as nothing she enjoys more than poking fun at her.

Eriko Hirose

The youngest sibling of three, Eriko is a bright person. This bubbly school girl is always raring to have a good time and making the most out of her youth. She seems to have more secrets than she should, but is not scared of giving a straight answer if needed.

She is revered as the student council president always taking the job seriously with passion.

Despite previously being childhood friends with her, she does not get along with Lin Moriyama, claiming she would rather be dead than spend time with her.
