Day 09
We already finished our prototype, so we started to work on another part of our Final Project. Before we started working on our Status Report, we decided we should test our prototype in order to see if our product would actually work. First, we went to Starbucks in order to obtain some organic compost from their coffee machine in order to create our mixture. Then we set about making our first batch of mixture. We started with a mixture of the organic coffee compost mixed with water. Afterwards, we used the 'presser' in our prototype, the Org-Presss, to remove any excess water in order to create an organic briquette. When we felt we had drained our briquette of all excess water, we then put the briquette into our 'dryer' (which is inspired by a solar oven). We left our first organic briquette in our 'dryer' in order for mother nature to 'work her magic'. After awhile, we finished testing our prototype. We found that our 'mixer' for the Org-Presss wasn’t strong enough to mix coffee grinds or paper pulp. So, we decided that in order to sell the product, we would have to re-design the mixer. We also discovered that it wouldn’t be a bad idea if we made the 'presser' a little stronger than the one we have. Once the briquette was almost dry, we started to work on our Status Report. It sounds scary, but it was simply writing down all the things we did in order to make our launch product. In the afternoon, we kept trying to make more briquettes with the Org-Press in order to find the best way (e.g. mixture, method, etc.) to make the briquettes.

Day 08:
Yesterday we did many things.
The main focus of the day was to finish the product so we can test it later.
Part by part...the oven was finished.
So the only thing we needed to do was to finish covering it with aluminum foil and test the door. The part that took more time was the mixer and the presser.
We had to finish the mixer, for which we used a soda can. We found that the aluminum can wasn't strong enough to mix things like wood.  However, we are about to finish the program and we don't have enough time to make a new mixer. So we decided that our mixture is what we are going to change.  Another thing we finished was the 'presser', in there basically we had to make the hole where the screw was going to pass. When we finished building the parts, we went about printing the logo on 'hard' paper and cut it in order to make a stencil of our logo to paint on the product. After that, we finally painted the logo on the prototype with blue and green spray-paint and now it looks very nice. The next and final step is to test the "Org-press" and see if it works like we want it to work.

Day 06
In the morning we went to “Madererias de Occidente” to buy a sheet of MDF (a type of wood made from various fibers).  There we had a little problem trying to get the sheet of MDF into the car, so they cut it into 4 pieces for us.  Afterwards we came back to the TEC.  When we arrived, we realized that we were moving to the Civil Engineering Lab so we could work in our prototype. Adrian started to work on the principal box. Ale started to work on the dryer. Luis started to work on the holders for the mixer and the presser. After awhile, we had almost finished completing our respective projects.  However, we needed to clean and leave the laboratory for the classroom. There we heard a very brief lecture about branding that was very interesting because we saw how brands create a concept or something that people recognize very fast, like Apple with its iPod Classic Campaign.

Day 05
Today, when we arrived, we uploaded on Tumblr the photos and texts from the day before. Then we planned how we were going to make a commercial to promote our product to our market. Once we had planned our commercial, we went to a place here in TEC de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara in order to record a video. We then edited it and we completed our final video. Then we had lunch. After lunch, we went to buy the materials we needed to manufacture our prototype. However, the store wasn't opened. Afterwards, we came back and we stopped at the gas station. When we came back, we started to cut the material that we already had purchased. Then when we finished, we talk with Netia and gave her our opinion of this week. After that Luis tried to help the other team, but that ended not very well. Not at all...
