The orders arrived on their Comp one morning; insisting that they'd been chosen for a research study, an experiment involving humans and machines, one that would take them far from home. This was not a choice. Their apartment had already been given away to someone else.

As they stood in the space station, so many things must've been going through their mind; maybe they were afraid, or maybe they'd be glad to leave their home. Maybe they were simply excited to know what all this was about.

Whatever they were feeling as they stood there, looking over the busy rush of people around them, those feelings weren't important to the person who approached them.

"Are you the new pilot? You were supposed to report to Docking Bay 18. If this is how you intend to start things off, we won't get along well at all." Commented a gray-haired woman with a disappointed look in her bright green eyes, wearing a shiny silver and green bodysuit that almost looked like a pilot's outfit - but she couldn't be a pilot, she must be barely in her 20s. With a frail looking body, she didn't really seem capable of much ... but her attitude implied that she was willing to show just what she was capable of. "Do I have to get the commander or will you follow me?"

I got really comfortable on this app called zervo, three years or so ago. It had its issues (don't they all) but the main thing I enjoyed about it was the fact that you could just click on rp offer and rp - or make rp offer and have people click on it. Genuinely, the easiest way I ever found to rp - very casual, very simple, you knew what the other people wanted 80% of the time and if you didn't like it, you could just move on. (You also had unique character profiles and a sort-of drop down menu to use each one, kinda like a tupper but seamless)

I say all this to say, while I appreciate Tumblr for all that it is, I really miss the casual rp and two ships that pass in the night vibes. Didn't need to exchange contact information, didn't need to worry about all the details - just put that in your post and figure it out later. No need for half a dozen oc templates or whatever (beautiful tho they are)

I'm sure this says something about me very deeply inside but, man, I miss zervo so much before it turned to AI chat for no apparent reason.

If anyone knows about other quick, casual rp platforms, that'd be nice. For now, I'll keep trying on Tumblr : )
