“Eddie!” Your voice boomed as your fist repeatedly hammered on the door of your best friend’s trailer. “Eddie, come on, what the hell are you doing in there?”
After a few minutes of silence that had you genuinely concerned for his welfare, you finally heard the sound of clumsy footsteps followed by the thump of someone walking into a piece of furniture.
“Jeeesus Christ,” Eddie complained, he squinted harshly at the sudden blast of sunlight hitting his weary face as he swung open the door. “Do you have to be so loud?”
You snorted as you took in the sight of him in his blue chequered boxers and tattered band tee, the W.A.S.P logo faded and cracked from years of being washed. His sleepy eyes and wild nest of curls made him look like a bear that was fresh out of hibernation.
“What was taking you so long? I thought you’d died or something.”
“Yeah well I might croak soon, feels like my head is packed with dynamite and it’s about to blow,” you watched him pinch the bridge of his nose, his features screwing up in pain while he stepped aside to let you in. “What time is it anyway?”
“It’s almost eight, you know, like we planned?” You brushed past him and into the centre of his cosy living room, waving the VHS he asked you to pick up from Family Video. Setting the tape down on the coffee table, your features softened in concern as you turned your full attention to him. “Are you okay?”
Eddie blew out a frustrated breath, his mop of tangled curls bounced as he shook his head. He quickly stopped, wincing when the sudden movements caused a sharp flash of pain to shoot across his brow.
“Do I look okay?” he grumbled. “Can’t see shit either, it’s like I stared into the sun for a really long time and now the spots are stuck there forever.”
“Sounds like a migraine,” you grimaced with sympathy. You’d suffered from plenty of them and wouldn’t wish them on anyone. “Have you thrown up yet?”
“No, does that happen?”
“Sometimes, have you taken anything for it?”
“No,” he gritted his teeth knowing you were about to chastise him for not doing anything to help himself.
You rolled your eyes, typical Eddie but you decided to not give him any grief, at least not until he felt better and he had no choice but to tell you that you were right, as usual.
“Well… That would be a good start,” you ushered him in the direction of his bedroom. “I’ll leave you in peace though, you should try and sleep it off.”
“Wait,” he spun on his heel, catching your arm softly in his grip as you turned to leave the trailer. “Will you sit here with me? You can still put the movie on, I’ll just close my eyes for a little while.”
“Eddie, the sound won’t help,” you almost whispered. “You need to go lie in a dark, silent roo-”
“Please?” He cut you off, his hand sliding down your arm until he could intertwine your fingers with a gentle squeeze.
Eddie loved his Saturday nights alone with you. He may have hung out with you every day at school, but you were always surrounded by friends. He found that there was something extra special about the time spent with just you and him. It was the reason he didn’t cancel his plans with you when he started feeling like shit, he just hoped he’d be feeling better by the time you arrived which turned out to be wishful thinking.
“Okay,” There was no use arguing with him, you couldn’t deny him anything while he was looking at you with such an adorable pout. “But go and take some Tylenol, now.”
“Yes ma'am,” even in his bleak state Eddie still gave you a dorky salute before turning round and trudging down the hall to his bedroom.
Eddie felt around his nightstand three-quarters of the way blind, his lids drooped low to avoid the sunlight pouring in through his bedroom window. Various belongings thump as they hit the carpeted floor, knocked off of the littered surface by his haphazard search efforts. He couldn’t be bothered to check if he’d broken anything of importance, too determined to locate the bottle of Tylenol he knew was hidden somewhere.
“Where the fuck is it?” he groaned. His frustrated expression morphed into a smirk when his fingertips grazed the plastic bottle. “Gotcha.”
Eddie’s smirk faded just as quickly as it had formed when he found it empty. He shook the bottle for good measure as though he could magically refill it with the pain relief he so desperately needed.
“Son of a bitch!” Eddie chucked the bottle over his shoulder and began feeling his way to the bathroom.
He shuffled cautiously until he found himself at the medicine cabinet. Wayne had to have something right? The old man was constantly complaining about his bad back and shoddy knee.
Eddie retracted his lids a sliver to browse the various medications, the amassing fuzz obscured his vision making it impossible to read the tiny print on the label. He reached for what looked like a generical pill box on the highest shelf, figuring that they were prescription strength pain meds and therefore exactly what he was looking for. How convenient for Wayne to have a brand new box. He thumbed two pills from their foil-sealed packaging and tossed them into his mouth. They sat bitterly on his tongue as he leaned down and angled his head beneath the running faucet to help wash them down. Now that he’d finally fulfilled your wishes, Eddie didn’t bother putting the box away. When he returned to the living room you’d already gotten comfy in your usual spot, the opening credits of the movie were rolling on the screen at the lowest possible volume. He smiled fondly when you patted the cushion on your lap that was awaiting him. Making his way over to you he plopped down and wiggled around until he was comfortable; despite his feet hanging awkwardly over the arm of the couch.
Eddie sighed and his lashes fluttered closed. Instead of dwelling on the throbbing in his forehead, he focused on the sensation of you lightly tracing the contours of his face. Your fingertips were chilled from your walk across town, the coolness making it all the more soothing for him. Your heart melted as his tightly sewn brow unwound and his features were no longer warped by the pressure threatening to split his skull.
Your touch effectively fought off the previously unyielding tension, rendering him still and at ease. Your fingers found their way into his hair which came without a second thought. Sometimes you’d scratch his scalp to help him fall asleep and Eddie often finds himself craving your phenomenal head massages. Your attention was focused on the TV screen playing the mediocre slasher film while he practically purred in your lap. Your fingernails continued to graze his scalp until the pain reliever kicked in and his moans of discomfort had subsided. Eddie was so relaxed that he almost succumbed to the pull of sleep that was weighing heavily, that was until he felt an all too familiar awakening below the belt. It came as no surprise to him, you were touching him. He’d hidden innumerable semis due to your presence but something about this one felt different.
Eddie cracked one eye open to peek down at his crotch and he immediately kicked himself for not putting pants on once you had arrived. He was not sporting his usual semi, hell, he was pitching a full tent like it was summer camp. Praying that you were too invested in the crappy movie to notice, Eddie reached for the spare cushion wedged beside his hip and inconspicuously clutched it to his front. He tried his best to make it appear that he just wanted something to hug.
Of course you had noticed his very prominent erection, it was impossible not to. A thrill shot to your core with the thought of your touch being the cause of his arousal. You didn’t know how to react despite how giddy you felt about his body being so responsive to your touch.
Throughout your friendship people had always assumed you were an item. On the contrary, you had shared one drunken kiss at most and both of you were too chicken shit to bring it up again after that night. But truthfully, you wished for him to want you in the way that he’d kiss you when he was sober. The fact that he’d popped a boner while you were spoiling him suggested that the feelings were mutual. You weren’t sure what to do with yourself, so you kept your gaze glued across the room and acted oblivious.
Eddie couldn’t conjure up a reasonable explanation as to why he was so bricked up. He’d never been so hard in his life and it had grown to be uncomfortable, his cock begging for any ounce of friction he could slyly get away with. There’s no way he could excuse himself to the bathroom without you spotting the obvious when he stood up. He certainly couldn’t take the cushion to the bathroom with him to use as a shield. The instinctual need became unbearable, he was going to lose his mind if he tried to sit still for a second longer.
With the utmost subtlety, Eddie used his grip on the cushion to push down while simultaneously wiggling his hips. His jaw clenched as he choked back the gasp that sat on the tip of his tongue. The faintly strangled sound drew your attention away from the screen. Eddie’s eyes were screwed shut, but this time it was out of frustration rather than pain. His nostrils flared and his breathing deepened. On the cusp of asking what was the matter, the words dried in your throat as your gaze landed on his lower half. Your heart pounded in your chest at the realisation of why he made that sound, and why he had started moving after being still for so long.
You wondered if the thermostat had gone haywire because the air felt stifling. The short thrusts of his hips against the orange cushion made you wish you had one of your own to use. You weren’t sure what his endgame was, but the room felt too suffocating to wait and find out. You needed some air and fast, or at least a moment away from him to try and compose yourself.
“I uh- I gotta use the bathroom,” you stuttered and stood hastily. His head bounced against the couch, having lost the support of your lap and you disappeared before he had the chance to even process what you said.
Shit. Eddie seized the desperate rutting of his hips as he was dragged back to Earth by your sudden departure. He got carried away, what the fuck was wrong with him tonight? He lifted the cushion and glared down at his now painfully hard cock straining against his boxer shorts. A dark blue patch of precum blotted the spot he’d been rubbing. He had no reason to be in this state, only an hour ago he felt like he was dying so what had turned him into such a pathetic pervert in such a short time? He was starting to panic as he wondered what you were thinking. How obvious had his inability to control himself been to you?
You slammed the bathroom door closed behind you. Standing in front of the mirror, you stared at your reflection and took several deep breaths. Get a hold of yourself, you thought as your fingers curled around the cool porcelain edges of the sink. It wasn’t until after you splashed your face with cold water that you noticed the box of pills lying beside you on the counter. Once they had caught your attention, you were stunned to read what they really were.
 You cracked the door open slightly and called out to him. “Eds?”
For a moment, you worried he’d fled due to the beat of silence that passed before he answered.
“Yeah?”
“Come here a sec.”
“Do I have to?” He sighed, not wanting to get up while he still hadn’t managed to get rid of his big problem.
“Yes,” You rolled your eyes and waited for him to stroll down the hall.
Eddie strategically hid his body behind the door frame and popped his head into view. There was an expectant look on his face, waiting for the reason he was beckoned. His eyes followed your finger as you pointed to the pills on the counter.
“Did you take those?”
“Yeah?” Eddie replied feeling unsure of himself, the fact that you were questioning it made him nervous that he had inadvertently poisoned himself.
“Do you know what they are?”
“Uhh, pain meds?”
“Noooo,” your lips curled into a smirk. “You took Viagra.”
“Viagra?” he roared. Temporarily unphased by his predicament, he stepped into the bathroom and picked up the box, the fuzz no longer afflicting his vision. “What the fuck?”
“Why did you think they were pain meds?” you fought the urge to giggle.
“You told me to go take something knowing full well I couldn’t see!”
“You’re blaming me for this?”
“Fuck yeah, I’m blaming you!” His voice got higher the louder he became. “Why do we even have this?”
Eddie froze when it dawned on him that the only reason they would be in the cabinet is because they belong to Wayne.
“Jesus Christ,” he groaned, dropping the box at his feet. He buried his face in his palms and threw his head back. “Ughhhh! Why me?”
You couldn’t hold back your laughter any longer, the first chuckle escaped your lips while you took in the pitiful sight of him.
“It’s not funny!” he yelled, feeling agitated and more than a little humiliated. “It hurts!”
“It’s a little funny,” You teased.
“Shut up! Seriously, what am I gonna do?”
“Nothing,” you told him calmly, swiping up the box from the floor to read the instructions on the back. “It says here it should go away on its own in about three hours.”
“Three hours?!” He whined.
“Three to four hours.”
“Why the fuck does it last that long?”
“Oh, quit being dramatic. You’ve already made it through the first one,” you said, placing the pills back in the medicine cabinet. “Come and watch the rest of the movie with me, it might help take your mind off it.”
Eddie dragged his feet as you took his hand and led his pouting face back to the living room. He returned to his spot beside you. but instead of laying in your lap, he chose to sit upright. With the cushion pulled back to its previous position over his groin, he tried his best to focus on the mostly forgotten movie. His expression reminded you of an overgrown child that was seconds away from a tantrum because they didn’t get their way. You snickered at the absurdity of the situation you had found yourselves in and folded your legs beneath you to make yourself comfortable at the opposite end of the couch.
Over the course of the next half hour you watched Eddie fidget in your peripheral vision as he huffed and sighed in aggravation. You hated to admit it, but his squirming was turning you on more than it ought to. It was the way he was incapable of regulating his bated breathing, how his toes curled into the rough carpet and the subtle shift of his hips when he involuntarily thrusted into the cushion laid across his lap. It overwhelmed you to the point that you were squeezing your thighs together to suppress the throbbing that was blooming between them. When a whimper escaped from his lips, it was game over for you.
Would it be completely inappropriate to offer him a hand? You were doubtful that he would turn down such an offer in his current state. But what would that mean for your relationship? Best friend's don't give each other rub and tugs. If you were being completely honest with yourself, you didn't want to just do him a favour. You didn't want to have to hold back, and you wanted to do it more than just this once. Deciding that it was worth the risk, you uncurled from your position and slid down onto the carpet. While Eddie's eyes remained closed and his head rested against the back of the couch, you crawled the short distance to sit on your knees between his widely spread legs. He wasn't phased by the movement until you pried the cushion from his grip and tossed it aside. Eddie's head snapped forward and he looked down at you like a deer in headlights.
“Huuuuuh- what…. what is happening?” He stuttered, softly taking hold of your wrists when your hands found purchase on his bare thighs.
“Don’t you think it’s about time we did something about this?” You asked, looking pointedly at his cock.
“Like what?” He croaked.
His grip remained firm but he did nothing to stop you when your fingers creeped higher up his legs. Your fingertips now danced along the waistband of his boxers.
“I think you know what.”
“Errrm, yeah but it’s kinda hard to believe this is happening,” he chuckled breathily. “Oh God, my head really exploded didn’t it? I died and this is heaven.”
“Well, I am on my knees aren’t I? And I wanna worship you, is that your idea of heaven?”
“Hoooly fucking shit yes,” he whimpered. “But-”
“You know it won’t go away with just your fist or that cushion. I can help, if you want.”
Eddie nodded eagerly at almost comical speed. Unwilling to waste another second you tugged down his boxers, he lifted his hips just enough for you to drag them below his ass and free his swollen cock. He exhaled in relief as the cool air tickled his searing skin. You took a moment to truly admire him, your mouth watering as your gaze fixated on the girth of him, his weeping tip flushed dark pink with a prominent vein running along the underside of his shaft. He was fucking beautiful and your pussy clenched around nothing at the mere thought of him stuffed inside of you. Wrapping your fist securely around the stiff and hot base, you ran your tongue up to his tip. You placed a single peck to the head before you took him fully into your mouth.
Wet warmth engulfed his cock while your fist pumped what you couldn’t handle. He whined above you, his fingers threaded into his hair and tugged harshly to keep himself from grabbing the back of your head. The last thing he wanted was to be forceful, but nevertheless, his hips had a mind of their own. You breathed deeply through your nose, attempting to suppress your gag reflex when he fucked your mouth harder. You didn’t mind, you found it impossibly enthralling that he was so worked up he could hardly control his movements. Your pussy grew wetter as his moans got louder, and you couldn’t help but snake the hand that wasn’t jerking him off down the front of your jeans and beneath your underwear. Your fingers rubbed tight, quick circles to your swollen clit.
“Oh my god… Baby that’s… Ohhhh,” Eddie mumbled between broken moans. “No idea how many times I thought about this… Your lips - Mmmmm, thank you… Thank you…”
He barely lasted a few minutes before he was reaching out to cup your cheek, urgently attempting to guide you away as a warning he was about to climax. He expected you to pull away but you only moaned around him in response, the vibrations travelled along his shaft tipping him over the edge. His balls drew up tighter than they ever had before. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as he shot rope after rope of cum down the back of your throat.
Even after coming down from what was without a doubt the most drawn out and intense orgasm of his life, his cock is still rock hard. Throbbing and twitching in your palm, he’s ready to go again despite the fact that he shouldn’t be.
“What the actual fuck?” He growled breathlessly, the bewilderment evident in his voice.
You wanted to offer to keep going, but with Eddie being particularly well endowed, your jaw was already aching. With your own arousal yet to be relieved, you decided to boldly take what may have the only chance you would get.
“Do you have condoms?”
His eyes met yours with scepticism, as though he really didn’t think he could get any luckier than he already had. You squeezed his knee to remind him he had yet to answer you and Eddie nodded apprehensively, maybe you really did want him as badly as he wanted you.
“What do you say we move this into the bedroom then, hmm?”
“Fuck… Are you sure?”
In place of a verbal response, you rose to your feet with a shy smile. You swallowed down any self-consciousness that was threatening to get in the way. With him still sitting on the couch and his cock exposed, you eyed him while you stripped down to your underwear. Eddie’s restless fingers clawed at the skin of his thighs, his head started to feel woozy as your body was revealed to him one garment at a time. Once your bra was unhooked and your underwear had dropped to the floor Eddie held his breath involuntarily. His big brown eyes travelled along your naked figure, feeling indecisive on which part of you he wanted to explore first.
He was mute with a strong gaze and it caused your confidence to waiver. Before you could let it crumble completely you held out your hand to him, your fingers wiggling in encouragement to take it. As he let the breath he had held captive free, Eddie tucked himself back into his boxers. His legs quaked as he stood and closed the short distance between you, his fingers reaching out to tangle with yours.
“You know you don’t have to do this,” he said under his breath. “You’ve done more than enough for me already.”
Eddie would much rather be miserable on his own than to cause you a shred of discomfort in trying to help him.
“Trust me,” you assured him, guiding his hand down between your legs so he could feel how sincerely soaked you were for him. “I really fucking want to.”
A squeak barely escaped you when his lips unexpectedly captured yours. Instinctively, your hands caressed the side of his face to keep him from pulling away. Eddie's hand explored your slick covered folds and in a matter of seconds, his fingers were coated with your arousal. You moaned into his mouth as he circled your clit, rubbing firmly against the nerve. Your hands travelled down his neck and you were unhappy to find him still mostly clothed. You frustratedly broke the kiss in order to yank his shirt up over his head. Eddie followed your lead and pushed his boxers back over his hips until they fell to pool around his ankles. Stepping out of them one foot at a time Eddie began to walk you backward down the hall toward his bedroom. All the while, his desperate hands sought to feel every inch of your body and his lips glided down the column of your throat. You gripped his slim waist to avoid tripping over the various obstacles he'd thrown to the floor while you made your way to his bed.
Once the backs of your knees met the edge of his mattress, Eddie urged you to lay back. You did as he asked and inched back while he watched. Eddie crawled between your legs and gently groped at your naked chest, his lips not far behind to suck harshly on the crook where your neck meets your shoulder. To give him more access, you tilted your head to the side and nuzzled your face into the pillow. His scent fills your nose and it sets your senses aflame, squirming as he continued to suckle on your pulse point. Before you had the chance to reach down a grasp hold of his cock, he travelled south. His mouth left a hot, wet trail as he made his way down to your core. Eddie’s strong hands forced your thighs apart to settle himself between them. His eyes locked shamelessly on your heat as he looked forward to spoiling you with the same treatment you gave him. You were conflicted in that moment because while you were on the verge of losing your mind if you didn’t feel him inside you soon, you also appreciated his eagerness to get a taste of you.
Eddie covers your inner thighs with the softest kisses, using one hand to hold you in place by your hip. You felt the knuckles of his opposite hand glide through your wetness. Your body reacted immediately, your hips rocking in time with his thumb swiping firmly against your clit. Your body melted beneath him while his tongue smoothed over the sensitive nub.
Eddie's experimental licks grew more confident as he grew acquainted and subsequently fell in love with the way you taste.
Your legs dropped open further when he moaned into you, the vibrations reverberating through your core. You lifted your head to watch him savour you. There was a little pinch between his brows and his eyes were squeezed shut, which only fanned the flames of your burning desire for him. You lifted your hips to encourage him to venture further. Understanding what you needed, he slid two fingers inside you with very little resistance and hooked them upwards. It only took a handful of explorative strokes before he was brushing the spot that he knew would bring you to euphoric bliss.
“Yes… oh fuck, right there,” your hands threaded into his hair while his fingers pumped in and out of you. “Oh my god… Eddie…”
“Mmmm, you taste so fucking good,” he pulled away for only a moment to respond.
Eddie’s brown eyes, darkened by lust, stared up at you while his plump lips glistened with your arousal. Without hesitation, his tongue returned to your clit and he sucked greedily, his plunging fingers following suit. You ground your hips against his mouth, and with little warning, you came hard.
“Eddie!” You cried, your pussy clamping down around his fingers as your thighs snapped closed to hold him in place. “Oh my fucking god! Ohhhh-”
He happily worked you through your orgasm until your body was limp beneath him. Eddie retracted his fingers and dragged them up through your folds. You twitched as he spread your release over your sensitive clit. He grinned softly when he looked up at you again, the pride evident on his features as he crawled his way up your body.
“Holy shit,” Eddie laughed breathlessly. He pressed a wet kiss to your lips for you to taste how sweet you were. “That was so fucking hot. I’ve never made someone cum that hard before.”
You grinned back. Still at a loss for words, you reached between your bodies to give him a few steady strokes. He pulsed in your palm and it sent a surge through your lower belly. You hastily flipped him over, his back meeting the mattress with a bounce. Eddie was spread before you, and you committed the sight to your memory to cherish until your dying days. He tucked his hands behind his head, the fucked out expression still melted onto his features. Eddie had never looked so beautiful. Your eyes wandered his slender torso and followed the delicious happy trail that led to the thatch of dark curls framing his gorgeous dick.
Spying the small blue box of condoms on the dresser, you grabbed them while Eddie shuffled himself up the mattress to get more comfortable in a sitting position. You straddled his hips and he leaned forward to kiss you hungrily. He took the little foil wrapper from your hand, tore it open, and rolled the condom down his aching cock. He gave himself a few strokes for good measure and you watched him adoringly.
“Ready for more sweetheart?” he asked with an air of smugness. He could see how you were practically drooling. The way your eyes fixated on the motion of his hand gave him one hell of an ego boost.
You nodded embarrassingly quickly and he chuckled. Eddie’s free hand gripped your hip to pull you closer as he guided his tip to your entrance. Your fingertips dug into his shoulders as you steadied yourself, and ever so slowly sank down on his generous length. You shuddered as he stretched you inch by glorious inch. You couldn’t recall ever feeling so full and it was the best goddamn thing you’d ever felt. He gave you a moment to adjust before both of his hands found purchase on your ass. Eddie started to fuck himself up into your pleading pussy, causing the bedframe to shake from the force of his thrusts. You braced yourself with one arm on the wall behind his head to keep yourself upright.
Eddie had one hell of a view, and it had him entranced. Your jaw was slack as you gasped and panted from how deep he was, and your tits bounced in his face while he relentlessly pounded into you. His hooded eyes never stopped roaming your body. He wrapped his arm around your waist to hold you flush to his chest. Eddie buried his face into the crook of your neck to resume his attack on the tender flesh of your throat.
Mingling moans and whimpers were paired with the wet sounds of him driving into your cunt filled the small space of his bedroom. You tugged his hair to pull his face from your neck, needing to feel his lips on yours as you ground desperately in his lap. He met you for a sloppy kiss, both of you too far gone to care about the clumsiness.
“Close, close- baby I’m so close,” you whined against his lips. The white hot pressure in your core grew closer to reaching its boiling point with every brush of his wiry curls against your clit.
“Yeah, you gonna cum for me?” he growled. His sweaty forehead pressed to your own while his borderline black irises looked deep into your soul. “Fuck, I wanna feel you cumming all over my cock.”
“Uh huh, Eddie I’m gonna cum,” you nodded dumbly. Your heart was pounding in your ears so loudly that you could hardly focus on a word he was saying.
His hand left your waist to snake down. His thumb rubbed circles to your clit, which in his urgency, may have been a little rough. But it didn’t matter, it was more than enough to get you there.
“Oh fuck!” You cried as you came. Your hips continued to roll, a clumsy attempt at keeping up with his thrusts.
You rode out the waves of ecstasy until you collapsed against his chest. Both of his arms wrapped protectively around you and his nose nuzzled against your temple. Eddie whispered how good you were for him. It took you a few minutes for your cloudy head to clear to notice that his hips were still rocking into you. You had forgotten that the whole point of this was to get Eddie off and not yourself. Despite how sensitive you were feeling, you pushed through the mild discomfort. He surely couldn’t be too far behind you.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and with each minute that passed, Eddie grew more frustrated. The pills were affecting his ability to cum in a timely manner. Even though he had a blowjob beforehand, it had never taken him this long to blow his load before. Your movements grew sluggish and when a tiny whimper passed your lips, he knew it was becoming too much. Eddie's heart squeezed behind his ribs at the thought that he was causing you pain. The guilt pulled him further out of the moment, and he was prepared to surrender.
“I’m sorry,” he practically sobbed. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I swear any other time I would’ve busted ages ago.”
“It’s okay,” you reassured him. You ignored the ache in your thighs that was begging you to change positions, you were determined to get him there.
“No it’s not,” he shook his head. The stray curls plastered themselves to his damp skin. “We don’t have to keep going, I don’t wanna hurt you-”
“Hey, I’m fine,” you stopped him. He had gripped the meat of your hips to lift you off of him but you halted him with the placement of your hands on top of his. “Really.”
Eddie sighed deeply and averted his gaze, clearly unconvinced. You curled your fingers gently around his and lifted his hands to your chest, placing one on each of your breasts. You made him squeeze them as a form of encouragement. You rested your own hands on either side of his head and forced him to look at you.
“Stop worrying about how long it’s taking and focus on what you’re feeling,” your thumbs tenderly brushed the apples of his cheekbones. “How am I making you feel?”
You emphasised your words with a roll of your hips, your dedication to helping him get there gave you a boost of energy to persevere.
“So fucking good,” Eddie shivered. His eyes fluttered closed as he zeroed in on the way your muscles quivered around his cock and how soft your skin felt cupped in his palms.
“What is it that feels good?”
He could barely think, barely speak. It felt like his brain was melting to mush with every second he stayed inside you.
“Eddie,” you pressed, gently demanding his answer.
“Feels… fuck, your pussy,” he babbled, unable to form a coherent sentence. “I don’t… you’re just so… warm, soft.”
“Mmmm, you like my pussy?”
“Oh, f-fuck, yeah.”
“Yeah? Then take it Eds, I’m all yours,” you promised.
“You mean that?” his hands tickled your ribs as they glided from your breasts to your ass, his palms squeezing what now belonged to him. “Even… after tonight?”
“Is that what you want?”
His lovestruck gaze never broke your own as he nodded sincerely, your foreheads still stuck together.
“Then you can have me anytime you want, baby.”
Eddie groaned, his eyes fluttering closed as he let the words he had dreamt about hearing for so long finally sink in. He buried his face in the crook of your neck and let every one of his senses be entirely consumed by you. Eddie was concentrating so hard on driving himself into your warm, wet heat that he didn’t notice his orgasm sneaking up until it was too late. Before he could get a word out he was already pulsing inside you, grunting into your neck with a deep growl. When Eddie finally slipped out of you, your fingers lightly soothed any part of him you could reach while he recovered. His entire body trembled from the force of his release. The problem however still remained. Despite your best efforts, the full condom glistened around his everlasting hard on.
“Fuck!” Eddie yelled.
You stared at him hopelessly. You hated that it was causing him so much distress, but you knew neither of you had the stamina to go another round. At least, not without a break first.
“I’m just gonna… Try to take care of it-” he muttered, pulling off the condom and tying the top with a tight knot as you moved out of his lap. He swung his unsteady legs over the edge of the bed and tossed it in the nearby trash can. “In the bathroom… I’ll be back.”
You'd already gone out of your way to help him and at this rate he considers himself a nuisance; he has to solve this issue on his own. You reached out and grasped his wrist before he could get too far.
“You don’t have to go,” you said. You gnawed in your lower lip, worried he may reject you in favour of his own hand. “I wanna help.”
Eddie felt like an idiot for being blinded by frustration and almost leaving the girl of his dreams naked and alone in his bed.
Eddie, beckoned by your pleading expression, returned to your side. The springs squeaked beneath his weight as he rejoined you. When he laid back against the pillow and you giggled; a subconscious attempt at easing the hopeless atmosphere. Once he was comfortable beside you, you tenderly wrapped your fingers around his shaft. You'd only stroked him a handful of times before you were startled by his outburst.
“Ow, ow! Fuck, stop!” he wailed at the lingering pain in his balls. “I can’t go again, it hurts too bad.”
“Sorry!” You placed your hand on his thigh and gave it a firm squeeze, unsure how else to comfort him.
Eddie didn't speak another word, his train of thought overpowered by self-pity. You slid off of the bed and retrieved your clothes from the living room. Dressing yourself there, you pulled on your t-shirt and panties leaving your jeans in a heap where you’d dropped them. After returning to his room, you crawled back into bed and encouraged him to settle between your open legs. He obliged and scooted until his bare back was against your chest. Too sore and too exhausted to care about being naked, his eyes fluttered closed. You pressed your cheek to the crown of his head and drew soothing patterns across his flushed, pale skin. His reflection in the mirror across the room was saddening; he looked like he wanted to cry.
“I’m gonna be stuck like this forever.”
“Don’t be so dramatic,” you chuckled. You turned your head to look at his alarm clock. “You’ve still got an hour left, I’m sure it will go away in no time.”
“What if it doesn’t?” he lamented.
“Then I guess I’ll drive you to the emergency room.”
The look on Eddie’s face as it snapped towards you could only be described as one of pure horror but if it came down to it, you really would have to. You cupped his cheek in your palm and told him once again to stop worrying. Leaning forward you pecked a kiss to the tip of his nose. When that failed to banish the worry lines that still marred his face you placed another to his forehead. Then to the corner of his mouth and each of his cheeks. Still unsatisfied you lifted his hand and brought each of his fingers to your lips. Eventually he caved, the sweetest of smiles creeping across his features.
“Thank you,” he whispered before settling back into your embrace.
Against all odds you managed to relax him enough to drift into a light sleep. By the time he stirred a little over half an hour later his erection had finally subsided. Eddie had never been so happy to go soft in his entire life.
The following morning, Wayne was lounging in his armchair ready to enjoy his day off. He kicked his feet up to watch The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, bologna sandwich in hand, when Eddie stalked into the living room and planted himself heavily on the couch next to him.
“Can I help you?” Wayne asked after a moment of silence and Eddie staring at him intently.
“Drugs Wayne? Really?” he scolded, sounding like a disappointed parent interrogating their teenager.
“What in the hell are you talking about, boy?” Wayne scoffed before he took a hefty bite of his sandwich.
Without answering, Eddie whipped the box of Viagra out of his back pocket and slapped them down on the coffee table between them. It took Wayne a second to realise what they were, but once he did, he almost choked on his food. He whacked his chest with his fist and reached for the glass of water beside him.
“Have you been in my medicine cabinet?”
“You mean our medicine cabinet,” Eddie retorted.
Wayne was speechless. He didn’t know whether to laugh at Eddie’s seriousness or scold him for his attitude.
“You really wanna lecture me about drugs? You think I don’t know what you keep in my old lunchbox?” Wayne countered.
“That’s not the issue here,” Eddie dismissed him with a wave of his hand. “The issue is-”
“Now just wait a second,” Wayne interrupted as he inspected the sheet of pills, taking note of the empty pockets. “Did you take these?”
“That’s irrelevant. Why would you have these under our roof? This is a christian household Wayne. I expected better from a man of God.”
It wasn’t often that Wayne’s face gave away what he was thinking, but at that moment, he was finding it extremely hard not to crack a smile at how ridiculous Eddie was being. In all honesty, he forgot that the viagra was even there. They were a gag gift from his drinking buddies down at The Attic on his 50th birthday. While he hadn’t used them yet, Wayne was nothing if not a resourceful man. He put them on the top shelf of the medicine cabinet in the event that they may prove useful in the future.
“Kev gave them to me on my 50th,” Wayne explained once he had composed himself. “You know, as a joke.”
“But you kept them,” Eddie stated as he stood and towered over his uncle who’s eyes still twinkled with amusement.
Wayne didn’t respond, he only crossed his arms over his chest and watched Eddie start to back away towards the bedroom. He knew now was not the right time to pry but he couldn’t help but wonder what had happened that caused Eddie to ambush him like this.
“Very disappointed…” Eddie continued muttering his disapproval as he disappeared down the hall. “Make better decisions… Oh, and we’re out of Tylenol by the way.”

Eddie x Gareths sisterrrrr????? Like Romeo and Juliet type stuff where Gareth is like my sister is NOT dating you
thanks so much for your request, anon!! i had so much fun writing it!! there isn't much conflict with gareth, but i hope you like it anyway! jealous!eddie x girly!reader (1.6k)
bug's summer fic fest ♡
Gareth picks you up from the mall at six o’clock sharp.
You say goodbye to your friends, all of them wearing the same tank top and pleated skirt duo you’re in, before getting into the passenger seat of his pick-up truck. You’re dressed too nicely to be sat in such a beaten-up thing. Too pretty for it, too.
“Wanna get something to eat?” the boy asks as he pulls out of the parking lot, talking over the Dio song blaring on the radio.
He’s wearing his usual flannel vest over a tattered Metallica tee. The former is riddled with various vintage pins fitting for a metalhead. Down to his skull necklace, ripped jeans, and dirty sneakers — the two of you couldn’t be more different.
You flip down the visor and use the mirror to put on a swipe of glittery lipgloss. You feel almost naked without it. “Slurpees?” you offer before smacking your mouth to spread the sparkly glaze.
“That’s so not dinner,” Gareth laughs as he shakes his sandy curls.
You arch a manicured brow in his direction. “Got a better idea?”
“Nope,” he concedes, popping the ‘p.’
He’s got too much of a soft spot for you to deny you of anything. Perks of being the youngest sibling, you suppose.
You feel butterflies fluttering like crazy in your stomach, their wings brushing the edges of your ribcage as he pulls into the gas station — and it’s not because of the $1 Slurpees. Your stepbrother’s best friend, Eddie Munson, usually deals drugs in the back parking lot on weekends. Like the absolute dreamboat he is.
It’s been days since you last saw him. Six of them, to be exact, but it’s not like you’re counting or anything.
While Gareth waits in line to pay for your drink and his food, you decide to quell your yearning. It’s much more like a hunger, though. Whatever innocent crush you used to have is far more salient now. You miss Eddie like a dinner you didn’t get to eat — noticeably empty, weakened without his smile to bring you back to life.
You round the corner to the back lot and find him flipping through a wad of cash. He leans against the brick wall with one dirty sneaker kicked up against it. Despite the middle of summer head, he hasn’t yet forgone his leather jacket and dark denim jeans duo. He looks killer, as usual — so you could only imagine how he’d look out of them.
When he hears the sound of footsteps scuffing against pavement, he looks at you from the corner of his eye. His gaze is halfway hidden beneath his fluffy bangs before he turns to face you wholly.
He grins at the sight of you, and you fill whole again.
“Hi, Teddy,” you greet with a smile, stained blue from your raspberry Slurpee.
He rises on both feet and tucks the money into the back pocket of his baggy jeans. His head tilts to his shoulder as he looks at you, too cute for his own good. “Whatcha doin’ out here, princess?”
Your stomach flutters at the nickname you’ve heard too many times to count.
“Came to see you,” you shrug innocently, curling your smile around the straw of your drink.
Eddie beams, brows raising in amusement and cheeks reddening at your answer. He hopes you’re too far away to see his cheeks glowing as pink as they are now. He’d just blame it on the summer heat, anyway.
“Really?” he lilts, voice light and airy with mirth.
You shrug as you swallow down the fruity slushy. “Gareth brought me for Slurpees.”
“How sweet.”
“Right?” you hum with a blue-tinted smirk, slowing when you finally reach the boy. His weed-tinged, woody musk envelopes you completely — he might as well be embracing you. “Best brother ever.”
Gareth isn’t really your brother, despite how often you call him that. You’re related by marriage, not by blood. You’ve known him your entire life, though, so you figure you might as well be.
Eddie knows this, so he smiles and takes a rather dramatic step back from you. “And that is exactly why I have to stay approximately three feet away from you at all times, princess.”
“Why’s that?” you squint at him.
When you take another step closer, he takes two more back.
“‘Cause he’s been threatening to beat my ass about dating you since we were thirteen.”
A smile quirks the right side of your lips. “Well, what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him,” you lilt.
Eddie’s brows raise at the mischievous inflection in your words. This time when you step towards him, he stays in place. “You’d really do that to him? To the ‘best brother ever?’”
You take another daring step towards him. Your chin tilts up to look at him in your ever-shortening proximity. “I’ve done far worse things than think his best friend is hot, Teddy.”
“Yeah?” the boy coos, chocolate eyes dancing with amusement as his chin dips to his chest to peer down at you. He makes the mistake of looking lower — at your breasts in your pretty little tank top and the silver of your stomach showing beneath the hem. He wants so desperately to hold you, despite everything that tells him he shouldn’t. His best friend, namely.
“And what’s that, princess?” the boy croons to you.
“I don’t kiss and tell,” you blink innocently up at him, then shrug. “Sorry.”
Eddie knows he shouldn’t be jealous, but he is.
You’re not his, but god, you were so good at making him feel like you were. You were around so often, always so sweet in your way — sometimes, it felt like you really did belong to him. The thought of his girl with someone else makes him feel like puking.
Jealousy radiates from him like steam, palpable enough for you to feel.
You grin.
“Don’t worry, Teddy,” you singsong, taking another goddamn step closer. Eddie knows he should be taking a thousand more backward, but your chest brushes his torso and he forgets how to walk. “I only have eyes for you.”
The boy swallows through a tightening throat. He nods for a moment, trying to work up the courage to use his voice. He’s scared that it’ll break, and he’ll lose all cool points with you. And he’s the rockstar, the older brother’s best friend — he can’t possibly have that.
“Good to know,” Eddie finally nods.
“Don’t keep me waiting too long, though. Might have to find some other metalhead to give me attention.”
Your smile widens when his jaw clenches, honeyed glaze hardening at the thought of you finding someone else. Your heart flutters when you realize that he sees you as his. He’s already been yours for a long, long time.
Gareth calls your name from a distance, muffled and far away. It’s nearly inaudible, but it knocks Eddie from his stupor all the same. “You should go, princess.”
“My parents usually go to bed around nine. Gareth’s usually sucking in the ceiling by eleven,” you maunder suddenly, wide eyes sparkling with roguishness. “If you park your van a few houses down around midnight, no one will be the wiser…”
“You want me to sneak into your bedroom?” Eddie laughs softly to himself. He hasn’t done that since he was sixteen. He thought he was over chasing girls like that. Turns out, he wasn’t really. Not when it came to you, at least.
“Uh-huh,” you hum with a firm nod, lips wrapping around the red straw of your slushy right after.
“And what’s in it for me, huh?”
Truth be told, Eddie couldn’t give a shit. He already knows he’ll be at your house at 12 o’clock sharp, climbing up your trellis like some kind of offbeat Spiderman. He just wants to hear you tell him something, anything — a wish for him to go on for the next several hours while he’s stuck dealing in the heat, thinking about you.
You don’t answer him with words.
You rise on the tips of your toes, holding onto your Slurpee with one hand and using your free one to cup his cheek. You usher the boy softly towards you as you press your mouth to his. And it’s not the most heated kiss in the world or anything — just a languid, honeyed thing that makes your lips lock like they were made to do it.
Eddie’s idling hands rise to your waist. His ringed fingers squeeze the bare skin of your sides as he sighs against your mouth. You taste cold and sweet — like blue raspberry and ice and lipgloss — his savior in this heat. The tip of his nose smushes against the side of yours, desperate to melt with you entirely. He thinks it might be close to possible, having you so close in the sweltering summer evening.
He’s breathless when you pull away from him.
“More of that,” you answer through labored breaths. “And maybe a little extra, if you’re good.”
Eddie doesn’t bother denying his want for you anymore. Fuck it, he’ll just fight his best friend. He can take a punch if he has to, but he’s not sure Gareth could even throw one — especially not at the boy he’s known for practically half his life.
“Your bedroom’s the last window on the light, right?” Eddie asks through rosy, kiss-bitten lips.
“Yeah,” you grin, backing slowly away from him. “I’ll leave my light on.”
He nods until the words catch up with him. “Okay.”
“See you then, Teddy.”
When you turn the corner for the main parking lot, Eddie can finally breathe again.
The air is noticeably less sweet without you around.

Kissing Booth
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Request: The school runs a fair to raise funds and word on the street is that there’s a kissing booth. Eddie (who has a crush on Chrissy for a while) decides to go for the kissing booth bcos he knows she’s going to be there. He’s too excited waiting in line but by the time it’s his turn, Chrissy’s shift is over and it’s now your shift (aka his enemy at school). The both of you have no way of backing out now and just go kiss each other for the sake of it. But what was incredibly unexpected was that you both liked kissing each other… maybe a little too much…
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: a little bit of mean(ish)!Eddie, but also flirty!Eddie towards the end, kissing, established feud, enemies to something else
AN: This was a request from Daisy 🌼! I thought this idea was really cute and loved writing. I hope you all enjoy!

Eddie pulls up to your house on Saturday. He smoked on the way over here and it made him question what you said at the end of class yesterday. He almost left his duffel bag the car, almost didn’t bring it at all. He’s not sure if you were serious about him staying over. He hopes you were. He hops out of his van and does that cute spinny move before slamming the door closed (iykyk).
When he knocks, your front door swings open almost immediately and he can’t believe the sight in front of him. Your cheery face greeting him, welcoming him to come inside. Thin white t-shirt with no bra, tiny shorts that if the outline of your sweet puffy pussy lips tell him anything, you can’t be wearing underwear with. He knows he’s a goner.
He kicks off his boots and shimmies off his leather jacket in your foyer, eyes looking around your living room. They meet with yours and you look nervous and shy, but deep down you’re really excited that Eddie’s here. He smirks at you, fingers reaching for your arm, a magnetic force that he’s never felt before pulls him towards you. He steps closer to you, closing the space between you two before wrapping you in a tight hug. It just feels like the right thing to do, his face settling into your hair. You melt into the hug, relieved that this feels like more than just a school assignment for him too.
His hands squeeze your sides as he holds you. “Hi mommy.” His voice rumbles in his chest as your ear is pressed to him. You giggle, beaming up at him. “Daddy, being a stay at home mom is so much work!” You pretend to pout at him. “Aww I bet, sweetheart.” He says, looking down at you with those big wide eyes that make your tummy do flips. He takes your chin in his thumb and pointer finger, leaning your head back, “How did I get so lucky? The prettiest girl in school as my partner?” He shakes his head softly in disbelief before getting distracted, he sniffs the air, eyebrows furrowing, “What’s that smell?”
Your house smells good, like you, sweet and warm like there’s a candle burning in the next room but there’s something else. “Are you cooking?” “Mhm!” You answer excitedly, “I’m making us dinner! Pot roast.” You say with a smile. Eddie can’t remember the last time someone made him a homemade meal and this one smells really good. “You work so hard all day, daddy, you deserve a good dinner when you get home.” Eddie’s all for women’s rights, if they wanna work, go work! If they wanna be stay at home moms, stay home! But right now, this make believe marriage is making him want a domestic 1950’s life with you. To come home to you in tiny clothes, maybe even some lingerie, food waiting for him? He just needs to find out if you smoke and even if you do, it’ll just be the cherry on top. He’d marry you tomorrow if it was up to him.
The fake baby cries from the living room. “Oh no, little Edward!” You run over to pick him up and rock him in your arms. “Come here daddy, he missed you all day.” You say with a smile. “He did?” Eddie asks, running his fingers over the baby’s plastic hair. “Mhm. But not as much as I did.” You beam as you look up at him. Eddie kisses your cheek, his soft lips warming your skin. “So little Edward, huh?” He asks, pulling your hips down onto the couch to sit with him.
“I thought it was a good name. You don’t like it?” You ask, sounding sad. “No, no, it’s perfect sweetheart. Just wasn’t expecting him to have any name. Let alone mine.” He laughs. “I hope when he grows up, he’s as cute as his daddy.” You say as you cradle the crying baby. Eddie’s heart explodes. You sigh. “He doesn’t seem very happy. I don’t know what to do.” You say, shrugging your shoulders.
Eddie’s eyes watch as you nuzzle the fake baby close to your chest. The cold air in your house has your nipples standing at attention, Eddie can basically make out your areoles through the thin fabric. See how rosy pink they are, his mouth watering thinking about how they taste. He wants to grab the vase full of flowers on the coffee table and pour it on you until your shirt is see through.
“Maybe…” he starts but then stops himself. “What daddy? I’ll take any suggestions.” You say sweetly. “Maybe he’s um… hungry? Maybe you should try to… breastfeed him?” He says, body tensing, waiting for your inevitable offended response. But to his surprise, you look at him through your lashes, a slow grin spreading across your lips. “Eddie. You know there’s no milk in these right?” You ask, pointing to your boobs.
“Uh… yeah. Yeah I know.” You’re not sure if he did know that. You laugh at him and shrug, “it’s worth a shot.” You say as you pull your shirt up to under your chin, boobs bouncing free and jiggling until they settle softly against your chest. You bring the fake baby’s mouth to your nipple and stroke his head, “that’s it Edward, drink from mommy.”
Eddie stares at you, as if your perfect boobs being on display didn’t have him hard already, you saying his full name like that just did it. “Holy fuck.” He whispers, hand smoothing over his mouth and holding his jaw as he watches you, dumbfounded. The baby actually starts to settle down, a comfortable quiet enveloping you both.
“Wow, I can’t believe that worked.” You say as you lay the baby down softly on your coffee table. “Eddie you’re a genius!” You throw your arms around his neck, hugging him and peppering his cheeks with kisses. You both fall into the couch, your body laying comfortably on top of his. Eddie rubs your back, very aware that your breasts are still exposed and are now pushing up against him. His hands settle on your rib cage and smooth down your sides, caressing your soft skin and sinking his fingers into the meat of your hips. “Eddie…” the way you say his name is sweeter than any song he’s ever heard. “Hm?” He asks, eyes taking in your face this close. The way you wrinkle your nose before you talk, the sprinkle on freckles across your cheeks, he wants to learn every one of your little details.
“Is this still part of the project? Are we still pretending? Because… I’m not pretending anymore.” you say to him softly, a shy whisper. His eyes soften as a sigh of relief leaves his chest. “I was never pretending.” He says, smiling so wide his dimples are on full display. “Really?” You ask him, voice shaking with excitement. “You… you like me?”
“Shit baby…” Eddie starts, hips wiggling and pressing up into yours, “Can’t you feel how much I like you?” You giggle, his hard length pressing into your lower tummy. “Yeah.” You bite your lip and nod.
His lips attach to your neck, sucking and kissing little bruises into your skin. You exhale a shaky breath, letting your fingers get lost in his frizzy curls. “I want you to try to put a baby in me forreal, Eddie.”
Eddie’s eyes widen, boner begging for attention in his jeans. “Yeah? S’that what you want, sweetheart?” You nod, slowly leaning in and kissing his pouty lips. This feels so good, so right. You’d do anything Eddie asks you.
“I want that too y/n.” He says coming up for air from your kiss. “Wanna fuck you so good, you keep coming back for more. Only ever want dick from me. S’that sound good, baby?” You whimper a “yes daddy.” before trailing wet kisses down his cheek and down his neck, fingers running underneath his shirt and up to his chest.
“Such a good mommy. My perfect little wife.” He whispers against your skin, hands groping your ass. You moan at that, loving how his voice sounds, gravelly and deep. His dimples deepen, “you’d like that, yeah? wanna be my pretty little housewife, don’t you?”
“Want me to open your legs and have my way with this pretty pussy, mommy?” He asks as his knee comes up to push your thighs apart. You open them further, nodding as your eyes close. He pulls your shorts off in one swift motion, your soaking wet core fully on display for him. “Oh look at that. I made you this wet, baby?” You bite your lip shyly, “Yes daddy. Only get wet like this for you.” He laughs darkly, leaning up and whispering close to your ear, “show me your bedroom.”

eddie’s so stupid hopeless when it comes to women he actually (secretly) reads and takes some of the advice he sees in those shitty magazines filled with advice for men for women. he reads a line about women liking when men’s pubes are shaved and so he starts shaving them. once every two to three weeks— ‘just in case i get lucky’— and, in his defense, the times he has ‘gotten lucky’ he’s never heard any complaints about it, so he figures it must be true to a certain degree.
and then you start seeing each other and eddie is always shaved when you two get down to business but then one day, it’d been a particularly busy month so he hadn’t gotten the chance to shave. you’re in the back of his van making out after sharing a blunt and eddie thinks everything is fine, but then you begin to reach down to unbutton his jeans, and suddenly he’s pulling away.
“i, uh…i didnt…” he glances at you as you patiently wait and he feels so fucking embarrassed for having to say it, “i didn’t shave.” and you just sit back and blink at him for a moment before he continues, “i know women like… you know, like it when guys are shaved so i’m just… i’m just warning you.”
“eddie…who told you that?” eddie slowly blinks and shrugs, “read it in a magazine.” and slowly, a smile appears on your face and you shake your head with a little laugh. eddie’s muddled mind can’t seem to piece together why you’re laughing but then you kiss him.
“you’re so stupid.” you mumble against his lips. “so,” kiss. “so,” kiss. “fucking,” kiss. “stupid.” kiss.
you pull away to gaze down at him, hazy brown eyes looking up at you in a mix of lust, confusion, and admiration. you smooth down a few unruly strands of his bangs and lean in, shaking your head so your noses brush against one another as you speak, “i don’t care if you choose to shave or not, eddie. i’d actually prefer you have something rather than nothing.” “…really?”
“definitely…” and suddenly you’re skating your hands down his stomach and slipping into his pants, fingers threading through the short hairs on his pelvis before you softly tug at them, causing him to softly moan against your lips with a curse. “shit, okay…good to know— fuck —i won’t shave them anymore.” you happily hum and kiss him, “good…and eddie?” your hand wraps around his cock and he’s breathless when he responds “yeah?”
“for the love of god, stop reading those shitty good-for-nothing magazines. it’s all a bunch of lies.” and eddie can barely pay attention between his high and the way you’re stroking him beneath his jeans. you lean in and nip at his jaw and he pathetically nods with a moan as you squeeze his tip, “fuck— yeah. yeah, okay. no more reading.”
eddie never picks up another one of those shitty good-for-nothing magazines again.

It was a close call, you almost didn’t make it. After jumping into the lake, following Steve into the upside down, you were determined to help him, to save him. You didn’t see all the other bats that were flying towards you, you were too busy helping him when you suddenly felt a tail wrapping itself around your throat and pulling you back as two others attacked you from behind.
You and Steve were surrounded, fighting against the deadly creatures. You were struggling, trying to throw them off of you but the tail around your throat tightened, taking your breath away.
Your vision blurred and you grunted in fear. You heard Steve’s cries of pain as his eyes locked with yours, you wanted to help him, he wanted to help you but you were both losing the fight until your friends came along and the creatures were thrown off of you, Eddie ripped the bat off that almost choked you to death.
When you fell to your knees, gasping for air, you watched him wide eyed as he repeatedly slammed the bat against the ground with anger on his face you haven’t seen before.
Luckily, you managed to get away with just a few small scratches, Steve had it worse than you. After you found shelter in the woods and waited for the swarm to pass, you finally managed to take care of Steve’s wounds, which looked really bad.
He grunted in pain and clenched his hand into a fist when you tied the piece of Nancy’s shirt around his waist.
“I’m sorry,” you mumble after tying the knot.
“It’s okay, fuck,” he grunts, laying his shaky hand on the covered wound.
Steve looks down at you, thanking you with a forced and painful smile. Turning to look at Eddie, he finds him staring at you with concerned eyes. The gash on your arm is bleeding, it’s not as deep as the wounds on his body but still enough to make the metalhead feel worried for you.
Steve smirks to himself, despite the pain in his body, he can’t help but feel amused by Eddie. He stands there looking like a lost puppy as he watches you take care of another man.
Before all of this, before Eddie got dragged into this mess, you and him didn’t really get along. Steve doesn’t know what happened between the two of you but there was always so much tension, he hated you and you hated him, at least that’s what he and the others always thought.
You were the first to know where to find Eddie after he had gone missing, you were the one to calm him down when he held Steve against the wall, you were the one who held his hand when it was shaking so bad when he told you all what happened.
Clearly, you never hated each other, you just hated the thought of liking each other so pretended.
After stepping away from Steve, you turn away from the others, needing a moment to yourself. You walk around the rock until the others can’t see you, leaning against it, you look down at your arm, scrunching your face up when you see all the blood running down your skin.
You press down on the wound, trying to stop the bleeding. You hear footsteps coming, thinking that it’s either Nancy or Robin, you raise your head to look, instead of them, you find Eddie walking towards you.
“Hey,” Eddie whispers, his big brown eyes filled with concern, it surprises you.
“Hi,” you mumble.
He steps closer to you, eying the marks on your neck, his eyes flash with anger and fear, he almost lost you.
Looking down at your arm, his eyes widen, reaching out to touch you, he grabs your arm gently, “holy shit,” he mumbles, not wasting a single second, he reaches for his bandana in his back pocket.
“Eddie, you don’t have to–”
“Shut up,” he mutters under his breath, sending you a glare. He brings the bandana up to your arm, placing it on your skin, he tries not to hurt you as he ties a knot.
He stands so close to you, you can feel his breath on your skin, his touch sends shivers down your spine. For a moment, you let yourself admire him as he takes care of you. You would be lying if you said that he doesn’t make your heart flutter.
“There, that’s better,” he whispers. His fingers still linger on your arm when he looks at you, he frowns, bringing his hand up to your collarbones.
Your breath hitches in your throat when you feel him touching your neck, he frowns and his eyes look even sadder than before, “god, I don’t know what I would’ve done if you got hurt.”
You got hurt but he is talking about something else. He wouldn’t know what to do if something much worse happened to you.
Your lips part in surprise, a weird feeling rushes through you as your eyes lock. You look at each other in a way you haven’t allowed yourself to before.
“Eddie,” you whisper, fearfully.
You don’t know what you would do if something happened to him.
You place your hand over his and hold it tightly against you. After years of pretending, you finally let him in and in return he does the same. He lets you in. You allow yourself to be vulnerable in front of each other, you no longer have to lie, you no longer want to deny yourself of your feelings for each other.
You could both die any moment, though you promise yourself that you won’t let him die.
He won’t let you die.
“I’m okay,” you whisper as you bring your hand up to his face, cupping his cheek, “we’re both okay, right?”
He can feel your heart racing beneath his hand, he doesn’t know whether it’s because of him or because you are scared.
He nods, feeling his own heart skipping a beat when your thumb lingers on his bottom lip.
He looks into your glassy eyes, he smiles sadly as he memorizes every single one of your features. God, he loves you, he always did.
“Do you remember when you asked me out in kindergarten?” You whisper, smiling at the memory.
“Kindergarten,” he chuckles, nodding his head, he smiles, “yeah, you rejected me. That was super mean of you, by the way.”
“Yeah and then you were mean to me for the rest of my life.”
He shakes his head, “the rest of your life?”
“Yeah,” you shrug, “I mean, this might be the end.” For you.
His smile falls, his heart drops a little. The look in your eyes is one of longing, sadness and determination. You will do anything to prove his innocence, you will do anything to save him, to get him out of here.
You are ready to die for him not knowing that he is ready to die for you.
He shakes his head, cupping both of your cheeks, he leans down, “this is not the end, sweetheart,” he whispers.
“It’s not?”
“No, it’s not,” he pauses, his thumb catches a fallen tear, he wipes your cheek and leans his forehead against yours, “we’re both getting out of here alive, we’re all getting out of here.”
“Promise me?” You whisper with your shaky voice.
“I promise, sweetheart.”
You smile at him as you hold his hands tightly.
“You should ask me out again,” you murmur, breaking eye contact as you feel yourself growing flustered.
Eddie grins, his eyes light up at your words. He takes a moment, letting his inner child celebrate the fact that you finally give him something he always wanted; You.
“Princess,” he starts, using the nickname he had used before when you were little kids, “will you go on a date with me after we get out of this shithole?”
You giggle, nodding at his words as your eyes meet his again, “yes, please.”
He smiles brightly, "finally," he whispers, making you giggle.
Despite the current circumstances, Eddie couldn’t be happier. A new hope fills him, he wants to get out of here, he wants to fight his way out, with you and for you.
He knows that things will get worse before they get better but he is determined to fight for a future with you.
So he kisses your cheek and takes your hand in his, intertwining his fingers with yours. He makes a promise to you and he will keep it.
“We’re getting out of here, sweetheart.”

Steve sighed after fixing up his hair for what felt like the hundredth time as he sat, waiting for any sign of the friend that Robin had sent to meet him. He was no stranger when it came to dates, but this had been the first time he’d ever gone on a blind date.
Robin said she’d be perfect for him, she was nothing like any of the other girls he’d been on dates with or flirted with. Which was perfect, considering how him trying to find himself a date never really worked out very well in his favor. But he trusted Robin.
He was just hoping he wasn’t set up with someone who was completely the opposite of his type. All he was hoping for was someone that at least acted normal. He needed someone to help make his life feel normal again.
He looked around the restaurant to try and spot you but to be honest he didn’t really know who he was looking for. All Robin told him about you was that you were a really cool person and you had a lot of different hobbies and interests, but she was hoping that you being opposites might help the attraction a bit more.
Steve almost jumped as he felt a gentle tap on his shoulder, and he gave you a kind smile as he saw you standing behind him.
“Are you Steve? I’m (y/n), I’m Robins friend.”
You were pretty, he couldn’t deny that. But once he saw you he felt like there was something off.
“Hey! Yeah, that’s me, it’s nice to meet you.”
He stood up from his chair and kindly shook your hand, guiding you to the other side of the table to push your chair in for you. Wether this would work or not, he still wanted to make a good first impression.
There were a few moments of awkward silence between the two of you as you sat across the table from one another, and Steve almost let out a sigh of relief as soon as he heard you start to talk.
“I’m guessing this is your first blind date too?” You asked him with a smile.
“Yeah,” He said with a laugh, “It’s alright though, i trust Robin. How do you two know each other?”
“We were best friends in elementary school, my family moved a few towns over freshman year but we still stayed in touch. What about you guys?” You asked.
“We met working at the mall together. I guess once you’re forced to work together in stupid sailor suits you’re friends forever.”
You shared a laugh and you felt a bit of blush rise to your cheeks.
Robin wasn’t lying when she told you that Steve was a good looking guy, not really your type, but he did have a pretty cute smile.
“So did Robin tell you anything about me?” You asked him, reaching for the glass of water across from you and taking a sip.
“Not really,” Steve said with a nervous laugh, “she said you were pretty-and you are-and she also said that she thinks we’d be a good match, but i think that’s about it.”
“She told me she thinks we’d be a good match too! I guess we should see if she’s right, what kind of stuff do you like? Music, movies, i wanna hear it all!”
“Oh no, i want to hear about you first!” Steve said to you, always the gentleman, “Tell me about yourself.”
“Alright, let’s see…” You racked your brain trying to think of some of the basics of yourself, “I really love music, it’s a big part of my life. Bands like The Cure, Wham!, and Huey Lewis and The News are some of my favorites but i think my favorite genre has to be heavy metal.” You said with a giggle.
“Really?” Steve asked with a smile, his eyebrow raised in curiosity, “You don’t really look the type to listen to music like that. Not that you have to look a certain way to listen to music, i’ve just got a friend who’s into that kind of music and you can tell almost instantly from the way he looks.”
“I get that a lot.” You giggled, “Most of the time for work or even when i’m meeting new people i like to just dress up… ‘normal’ i guess you could call it. I know that style isn’t for everyone so i wait until someone knows my personality first before i show them that side of myself. I’m sure your friend knows how judgy some people can be just from seeing that kind of style on someone.”
“Oh yeah,” He smiled, “unfortunately he knows those types of people all too well. But i know he’s a good person, just like i’m sure you’re a good person.”
You smiled to one another for a moment before the waiter came by for your orders, and after he left the table with your menus there were a few awkward moments of silence. As to be expected on any first date, especially a blind first date.
“So, what kind of music do you listen to?” You asked Steve, taking another few sips of your drink.
“I suppose it’s similar to yours, it’s really a bit of everything. Of course i like The Cure, who doesn’t, but i also really love Duran Duran, Beastie Boys have some great hits, and INXS too! I guess i’m just an average guy with an average music taste.” He said with a laugh.
“There’s nothing wrong with that!” You smiled, “Everyone likes what they like! As long as they’re not judging other people i feel like having an average music taste or a unique one is all the same.”
Steve nodded, sharing the same opinion as you. Maybe this blind date wouldn’t be as bad as he imagined.
“Alright, so we’ve got one thing we agree on! What about movies? Favorite movie, least favorite movie, genre?”
“That’s a good one! I guess i would have to say my favorite genre is horror. I love all different kinds of movies but horror has to be my favorite.”
Steve nodded as he listened to your response, though he did have a thought at the back of his mind.
From the way you’re describing yourself, it seems like you’d get along with Eddie a lot better than him.
He thought you were a really nice girl, very pretty obviously, but just based on interest he was surprised Robin didn’t try to set you up with Eddie first.
“What kind of movies do you like?”
You asked Steve, interrupting his train of thought.
“I guess if i had to pick a favorite genre, i’d say those goofy teen rom coms. You know, Sixteen Candles, Dirty Dancing, Can’t Buy Me Love. I don’t know what it is about those movies but they just reel me in you know?”
You giggled at his response, not hearing that kind of answer from other guys that looked like Steve. Handsome, put together, he was someone who seemed like he had a cool exterior at first but now that you were getting to know him he seemed more and more like someone you would be friends with. It’s not that he wasn’t cute or he wasn’t charming, he had those two boxes checked off quite easily, he just wasn’t normally your type.
The waiter soon returned to your table with your meals and throughout the night you and Steve shared a few laughs and funny stories with one another. Steve was someone you would adore being friends with, and you knew exactly why Robin was his friend too. Not to mention it gave her someone to pick on throughout the day, she needed someone like that. But you thought this was a blind date? Those friend feelings arose halfway through the night, you two had a decent amount in common and just enough differences to keep things interesting but throughout your dinner you just didn’t get that spark that usually happens on dates. To be honest, you were hoping that Steve was able to pick that up too.
Nothing worse than picking up on the wrong signals.
He cleared his throat gently to get your attention back to him as you finished your dinners and you looked up to him once more.
“You know…” He started, a nervous laugh on his lips, “I think it’s quite funny that Robin thought you and I would be a perfect match, not that i don’t think we would be! It’s just that,” He let out another laugh, “You’ve got much more in common with another friend we have, i’m surprised she didn’t set you up with him instead.”
You smiled to him, knowing that he wasn’t meaning anything bad by it, but this mystery boy he was mentioning definitely caught your attention.
You had never really been introduced to people with the same interests as you, especially a boy, given the small town you lived in. But it was nice knowing that Robin and Steve knew another person you would get along with. And you wanted to kick Robin for not setting you up with this metal boy.
“That’s alright! I mean given the fact that he’s Robins friend, and yours too, i’m sure i’ll meet him eventually.”
“You definitely should! You know, i don’t know if it’s right of me to tell you about another guy while we’re on a date, but i think you two would get along pretty well.” He said to you with a smile.
“I don’t take any offense to it. You know, to be completely honest with you,” you leaned in close to him and lowered your voice a bit, “i’m kind of glad we both agree that we didn’t really feel those ‘relationship’ feelings you know? You’re a great guy, but you’re someone i think i’d get along better with as friends.”
“I couldn’t agree more.” Steve smiled, “I’m also glad you’re the one that brought it up, i didn’t want to be the asshole that told you i just wanted to be friends on the first date.”
You giggled and picked up your water glass to clink with his,
“How about we agree that this isn’t a date, it’s more of… making a new friend?”
Steve smiled and picked up his glass, gently clinking it with yours in a cheers,
“To making new friends!”
The two of you smiled and sipped your drinks, Steve setting his down and calling the waiter over for the check,
“Since this did start out as a date, i feel it’s only necessary to still be the gentleman and pay. BUT, i need you to do something for me…”
You cocked your head to the side and shot him a strange look,
“What’s that?”
“You need to come and hang out with us all next week. It’ll be fun! We usually go to my place, or Robins, there’s going to be a bunch of us there. Including that guy i was telling you about, and a few of our other friends. You in?”
You thought it over for a moment.
It would be nice to see Robin again, and of course you’d love to hang out with Steve. Not to mention that metal boy would be there.
“Id love to! It sounds like fun.” You said to him with a smile.
“Awesome! You free on Friday?”
“Sure am.”
“Perfect, let me get you my address and phone number just so you know where to go.” Steve grabbed the pen on top of the check and wrote his address and number for you onto the back of the receipt, handing it to you, “There. And if you lose this until then, i’m sure Robin knows exactly where to go.”
“I’m excited! It’ll be nice to get to hang out with you and Robin, and meet some new people too.”
“You’ll fit right in with everyone, they’re gonna love you.”
Especially Eddie, Steve thought as he stood up from the table and quickly made his way around to pull your chair out for you, earning another giggle from you.
“Still a gentleman, hm?”
“Always.” He said to you with a smile.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So, tell me again how you met this girl?” Eddie asked Steve as they walked through Steve’s home into the living room.
As always, Eddie was the last person to arrive, but everyone else expected it from him. It had happened too many times for it to not happen tonight too, even when Steve said he had a girl for him to meet.
“Robin set me and her up on one of those blind date things, but we’re better off as friends. YOU, however, would be perfect for her so you’re lucky i like you enough to invite her over so you can meet her.”
Eddie scoffed and rolled his eyes with a smile, but as soon as the two turned true corner he froze as his eyes laid upon you.
You were sat between Robin and Nancy on the floor, talking about got knows what when Argyle cut in and got a few giggles out of the three of you.
Steve shot Eddie a strange look as he saw him standing awestruck in the hall,
“You alright?”
Eddie grabbed Steve’s collar and quickly pulled him back into the hall, eagerly whispering to him to keep from the rest of you hearing,
“THAT is the girl you brought for me? HER?”
Steve cocked his eyebrows, thinking he somehow had done something wrong from Eddie’s tone,
“Yes?… Is that a bad thing?”
“Bad thing?!” Eddie peeked back into the living room to get one last look at you, seeing your pretty smile and your bright eyes, “Steve you’re telling me you got set up with a girl that looks like… THAT?! And you WERENT interested?”
Steve smiled, finally hearing the mixture of nervousness and excitement in Eddie’s voice,
“No, she’s not my type. But i know she’s your type so i asked her to come along for tonight. She seemed to like you from what i told-“
“What did you tell her about me?” Eddie said, quickly cutting off Steve mid-sentence.
“I just told her you had similar interests! Same taste in music and movies, plus she’s got a cute smile and i know you love it when girls have a cute smile.”
“Hey, don’t talk about my girl that way.”
“Your girl?” Steve laughed, “You don’t even know her name yet.”
“…Well what’s her name?”
“Go ask her!” Steve said, pushing Eddie back and grabbing hold of the back of his jacket as he walked the two of them into the living room.
As soon as you looked up towards Eddie with that pretty smile on his face he knew he wouldn’t even be able to say ‘Hello’ to you.
The rest of the group welcomed Eddie with all smiles, Robin giving him a quick roll of the eyes,
“It’s about time you showed up, we were thinking you were just gonna skip out.”
“Of course he wouldn’t!” Steve said happily, letting go of his grip on Eddie’s jean jacket but still keeping his hand to the middle of his back, “Eds, this is (y/n), she’s Robins friend.”
You smiled to Eddie as Steve introduced you and you gave him a little wave from your spot in the couch, your cheeks blushing the sweetest shade of pink as you muttered a quiet,
“Hi.” To Eddie.
All he could do was stand before you and stare in awe, that is until Steve brought him out of his trance with a quick smack to his back.
“Hi!” Eddie said to you, nearly shouting.
You giggled a bit seeing how clearly nervous Eddie was just from being in your presence, and it was cute just to see how he acted before even officially meeting you.
Eddie was definitely how Steve described him. Tall, long hair, pretty brown eyes, and from his style it seemed like he would be acting a lot more confident than he was but just from a simple exchange of ‘hello’s you could see right through it.
He was just another shy nerdy boy getting nervous around a pretty girl.
The night went on as it normally did. Everyone talking and sharing laughs, watching movies and listening to music, at one point someone threw out the idea to order pizza and it felt like the greatest idea you’ve heard all night.
Steve grabbed the menu for the local place and with everything you all had wanted to order it would be a lot cheaper if someone went to go pick it up rather than delivering it.
“Well who’s gonna go pick it up?” Johnathan asked the group, but of course no one wanted to leave the party.
You all looked at one another for a moment before Eddie finally spoke up,
“I was the last car in the driveway, i can go pick it up.”
“(y/n) can go with you!” Robin said to him with a smile, and you could see how Eddie tensed up.
You flashed Eddie another smile as you stood up from your place on the couch,
“Sure, i don’t mind. You’ll probably need some help with all the stuff we ordered.”
Eddie smiled and nodded as the two of you got ready to head out, giving everyone a few waves before stepping out into the dark night, the gravel of Steve’s driveway crunching under your feet as you made your way down to Eddie’s van.
The walk was slow and quiet, but as you approached the van Eddie quickly picked up his pace, taking a step in front of you to open the passenger door for you, earning a smile from you.
“Wow, what a gentleman,” You said with a giggle as you climbed up into the passenger seat, “thank you, that’s sweet of you.”
“Well i think a pretty girl like you should be treated like one.” He said to you with a smile before shutting your door and making his way over to the drivers side.
You could see the pink covering Eddie’s cheeks the moment he shut his car door. And as much as you wanted him to be the one to initiate a conversation you knew that he was probably just too nervous to. So adorable.
“You know, you’re a lot like Steve described you.” You said as he pulled out of the driveway.
“Really?” He asked you, “Nothing too bad i hope.” He laughed nervously, his grip on the steering wheel getting tighter.
“Oh no! Nothing bad, i promise.” You said with a giggle, watching every so often as the streetlights illuminated his face beside you, “He said you and me were pretty similar actually.”
Eddie smiled, cocking his eyebrows as he looked over to you,
“Really? Us?”
You nodded and looked down to your lap, trying to hide the lightest blush on your cheeks. You knew the darkness around you would hide it but still, you didn’t want him to see how much he made you blush.
“So tell me about you then, what kind of stuff are we into?” He said with a smile.
“Hm…” You thought for a moment, smiling to yourself as you remembered the same conversation you had with Steve not even a week ago, “Well, i really like horror movies. Especially the ones from the 70’s, like the types of movies with all the gore and the really bad effects.”
“No way, pretty girls aren’t into that kind of stuff,” He said with a laugh, “i feel like you’re messing with me.”
“I’m not!” You giggled, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Eaten Alive, movies like that are my favorite.”
“Alright fine, but there’s no way we’ve got the same taste in music, i don’t think i’ve met any girls that listen to the same bands i do.”
“Well let’s hear some of the bands you like, i’ll tell you if i’ve listened to them.”
“Alright, um…” Eddie racked his brain to think of the most listened to cassettes in his collection at the moment, “Annihilator?”
“I really liked their first album! But i wasn’t really a fan of Crystal Ann.”
“Wow, i didn’t think that would’ve been a band you were into.” Eddie said with a smile, turning down the street, “Let’s see… What about Metal Church?”
“I love them! I think they might be my favorite band to be honest with you.” You giggled.
You thought you could hear Eddie giggle along with you under his breath, and you were hoping to hear it a few more times that night.
For a boy you quite literally just met, he was just so enchanting. It was nice to have someone to talk to.
Eddie pulled into the parking lot of the pizza place and as you unbuckled your seatbelt he stuck his hand out to stop you. They were calloused but still so soft on top of yours.
“Don’t worry about it, i’ve got it sweetheart. You just sit there and look pretty.” He said to you with a cheeky smile.
You playfully rolled your eyes and smiled as you sat back into your seat.
Eddie made his way inside with the money and you watched him pick up the pizza boxes and set a few brown bags on top of them, quickly bringing them back out to the van and setting them in the back before jumping back into the drivers seat.
“That was pretty quick,” You giggled, “you didn’t need to rush back out here.”
“Sure i did.” He smiled to you as he started the van up again, “I got a pretty girl waiting in here for me.”
You smiled back to him and turned yourself away, feeling the heat rising on your cheeks as you blushed. He was a bit dorky, but at least he was honest.
The drive back was quieter than normal, though Eddie only had himself to blame. For some reason, whenever you tried to start up another conversation he would give you short answers, not really sure how to continue talking to you. It wasn’t anything he meant to do with ill intent, he loved talking to you, but the boy was just so nervous around you.
Sure, you had wonderful conversations on the drive up, and the things he learned about you were only making him fall harder for you, but he was worried if he was thinking too much into things.
You had the same taste in movies, music, and from what he could tell you seemed like a genuine person. If you were Robins friend he knew that for a fact, but since she thought you would work better with Steve he was curious as to how he was holding up with you.
Did you like him?
Were you giggling at him because he was being cute and funny or because you felt like you needed to?
Was it a step too far calling you pretty so many times?
The boy felt love struck. Like he was experiencing his first crush all over again. He didn’t know what it was about you, but he was wrapped around your finger without even knowing it.
As he pulled back into Steve’s driveway, he finally addressed the silence on the ride home,
“Sorry, i know i was kind of quiet on the way back…” He said with a nervous laugh.
“It’s ok! Don’t be sorry, i was just worried i said or did something wrong.” You nervously smiled to him, hoping that wasn’t the case.
“Oh, no! No, you didn’t say or do anything, i’m sorry. I don’t know why i was so quiet on the way back. Honestly i think it’s because you make me a little nervous…” His sentence trailed off, hoping that you didn’t hear his last few words. Eddie didn’t want to seem like the type of guy who got too scared around girls to even talk to them.
You smiled to him and glanced over at him from the side,
“I make you nervous?” You giggled, Eddie smiled again hearing your laugh.
“A little…” He admitted. He never felt this vulnerable to quickly but with you it just felt so natural.
“You don’t have to be nervous around me! I think you just need to get to know me better.”
“Yeah…” A sudden thought popped into Eddie’s head, one that he knew would either make or break whatever possibilities of a relationship he had with you, but he had to make his move sometime, “I guess you’re right. How about next week we can get to know each other better? Just you and me?”
“You mean like a date?” Your sudden question threw him off. He was shocked you seemed so eager for him to ask, and the little twinge on excitement he heard in your voice was enough to confirm his suspicions that he made the right choice asking you.
“Yeah, like a date! Robin told me you live a little ways out of town but i don’t mind driving out a little bit. How about i pick you up at 6 on saturday and show you some of my favorite places around town?”
You smiled and felt a bit of blush rise to your cheeks, but you didn’t care if Eddie saw it,
“It’s a date.” You leaned over and before he could even give you a proper response, the gentle peck on his cheek was enough to make his face red.
You giggled and quickly jumped out of his van, him slowly following after you as he grabbed the food from the back.
The rest of the gang were waiting inside for the two of you, and they would’ve questioned Eddie’s strange demeanor had they not been starving and waiting for their food. Johnathan and Argyle were the first ones to start scarfing down the pizza as Robin and Nancy took out the rest of the appetizers and Steve grabbed some plates.
You wandered over next to Robin to help set up the rest of the food and Eddie wandered off to get some drinks when you felt a nudge on your arm,
“So?” Robin asked, “How was your ride with loverboy?”
“Shush!” You nudged her arm back with a smile, “And it was good. He’s taking me out on a date on saturday!”
Steve cut into your conversation as he set the plates down next to you,
“See! I told you they’d be perfect for each other.”
“Alright, fine, sorry.” Robin said with an eye roll, “I’ll never bother setting you up with someone ever again.”
“Woah, i never said that.”
“You just have to set him up with people that are similar to him instead of the opposite.” You said to Robin with a smile.
“My bad for trying to play cupid, can we just eat?” She gave you and Steve another eye roll but you both
Eddie wandered back over to the table and grabbed two plates, making himself one along with one for you with two cans of soda under his arms,
“(y/n), come sit with me?” He asked you with puppy dog eyes, holding up the plates to convince you further.
Steve and Robin watched as the two of you sat at the living room table, a conversation quickly starting up between the two of you on the couch but they were respectful enough to not try and make out whatever it was you were talking about. They’d see how things worked out eventually.
Steve smiled as he saw the two of you getting along so perfectly already and leaned over to Robin,
“You really thought i would make a better match for (y/n) than Eddie? Look at them, they’re perfect together.”
“They really are, aren’t they?”
Robin smiled, watching as Eddie slipped his jean jacket off to show you a few of the tattoos on his arms.
“You know i guess you didn’t do too bad playing match maker,” Steve said to her, “you just have to wait for the matches to sort themselves out.”
“Yeah, i guess this one just worked itself out for the better.” Robin looked around at the rest of the group, seeing Nancy sitting with Argyle and Johnathan, doing her best to keep the two of them from making an even bigger mess. She laughed to herself and nudged Steve, motioning him to look over at Johnathan and Argyle sharing a laugh,
“You think that’ll ever work itself out?”
i’m procrastinating my other wips and also trying to make something that isn’t a small novel 🛌
warnings and contents: 18+ ONLY, vaginal sex, unprotected sex, cockwarming, slight somno, slight breeding kink, idk implied housewife kink, implied freeuse??? listen idk whT this is
minors and blank blogs dni - do not repost - thank u
it was nearly pitch black by the time he stepped through the front door, lone lamp in the kitchen casting yellow hues and shadows over the entryway. a breathy groan left him, toes digging into heels to rid himself of workboots caked in dirt and grease. his keys clattered on the counter, drowned out by his soft curse.
in less than half an hour, he’d finished the plate left for him in the oven and scrubbed himself down in the shower.
the bedroom door was shut, blocking out the quiet sounds of his homecoming, squeaking near the base when he pushed it open slowly.
her back was to him, face smushed into his pillow. the towel around his waist hit the floor, a drop of water slipping off the end of his bangs and onto her bare back as he climbed over her. she stirred, but only just, sighing contentedly at the press of lips to her cheek.
he hummed into her skin, nose brushing down her temple, neck, digging into her shoulder as his fingers pried between her thighs. a sound of protest vibrated against his lips, her muscles shifting under him as she went to roll over. as if this wasn’t routine, as if there wasn’t a wad of towels shoved under the window from day after day of the same ritual, and her lack of panties wasn’t deliberate.
“no, sh… sh, sh, sh, sh.” he dropped his weight onto her, thigh planting over hers. “you just have to lie there.”
no questions asked, just lax limbs on their worn in sheets, fingers pushing between her folds to skim around her bud. it was hardly instantaneous, but close to it, the way she began to drool, arching her back into his hand.
“that’s the deal, right? i do all the work?”
a laugh shook her, airy and tired. happily compliant.
“pillow?”
“mm,” she nodded.
it was hers, but more often than not she used his chest as one. so shoving it under her hips to get soaked was easy, muscle memory. like how reaching for the box on their bedside table used to be. it sat empty, last wrapper torn in two, leftover from that morning. it grew less daunting the more she pushed up into him, begging silently for him.
“gotta… forgot to stop and get…”
his head was already in, sinking further as moans grew higher, fingertips biting into her cheeks to spread them out. the drag was tight, his knees pinning her legs together doing naught to ease it.
they panted and grabbed for one another in the stillness, her hand settling over his where his arm rested beneath her head, weight on his elbow causing the mattress to strain. through feathery kisses and grazes of skin, a pace was set. enough to have slaps reverberating off the walls in time with the headboard hitting one.
she groaned at the emptiness of him pulling out, twisting it into a purr when he took hold of his base to guide his shaft in circles all around the pocket of her upper thighs. her juices smeared along her skin made the push in smoother, letting him drop his other arm down to wrap around her shoulders.
“harder,” she gasped, fingernails pricking at his bicep.
harder, deeper, more desperate. she got it all. a day’s worth of frustration loaded behind his hips, begging to come out. he could hardly stand it, teeth sinking into her neck, pulling a whine from her. it’d only been a matter of hours, but he was drowning in it all. the need, the want, that itch he couldn’t scratch unless every inch of his skin was pressed to hers.
they were wrapped up, tangled in each other and the sheets, one of his feet stuck in the corner of their comforter. so close he couldn’t tell if she was gripping onto his hand or he was holding onto hers.
it didn’t feel real at times. the bliss from just holding each other, breathing in the scents of fresh and sleep-riddled skin alike. faded perfume and bedding due for a wash after days upon days of working each other over. like they were. a joint effort of pounding hips and an arched back, maybe a deliberate clench to match the reflexive one, just to hear his breath hitch.
“close,” he mumbled, breath ghosting over her face.
she simply nodded, too lost in her own release building right in the pit of her. his thighs were taut around hers, chest sliding against her back, stilling when he tightened his arms around her. a weak grunt left her, hands slipping under his forearms to curl around them, grounding herself under him.
one tilt of her hips had her falling apart, walls seizing around him, head dropping toward their arms had he not reached a hand up to grip her chin.
“look at me.”
his eyes were dark, hooded when she did, struggling to hold his gaze as he slammed into her sweet spot over and over in search of his climax, dragging hers out until it felt her nerves would spark under her skin. their lips grazed, hot and desperate like their moans for one another. it was when his fingers tightened around her jaw that she knew he was there.
“ah, fuck…”
one high whine from her set his spine rigid, hips stuttering flush against her ass. no barrier to keep him from flooding her all the way to that ring deep inside her. that thought alone had him jumping with one last rope.
the bed was drenched around their heads, ends of his hair frizzy and nearly dry. her face even glistened with water when she turned to look at him better.
“missed you…”
there were still little tremors clamping her around him, last of her release seeping from her muscles.
“got me all weekend, sweetheart.”
eyelids grew heavy, melting over her vision, warping the liquid smile on his lips. the sleep he’d pulled her from lapped at the edges of her brain once more, receding for a moment when he tugged at her until she was pressed to his chest again.
he was still inside her, fingers snaking between her thighs to feel the mix of them oozing around his base.
“gonna let me?” he whispered.
the weight of unconsciousness was too good, fullness in her core too heavy. mindlessly, she guided his hand to her mouth, humming at the taste of them wiping off on her tongue.
“that’s the deal, right?”
Eddie’s got monopoly on you.
It isn’t difficult, really. He’s got puppy-dog eyes and a heart that never ceases beating the rhythm of all the sonnets he’s written for you, and when he catches your gaze, the world becomes still and the ballad swells and you come alive like a flower in the midst of July.
There’s quite a few things to like about him. His hair, his smile, his laugh. He is gentle and kind and silly, and he retains all the best aspects of youthful whimsy even as he travels through the years by the calendar days— he’s twenty six and he spreads ice-cream on your cookies and gives them sprinkle eyes; dances with you on the kitchen table; tells you tales of adventures he lived in his dreams, where you were a knight and he was a bard and nothing ever bested you.
It’s the middle of a summer evening and Eddie is telling one of these stories, tongue blue from popsicles long vanquished. The sky is breaking pink, the clouds are wispy and the sun is a splendid tulip bulb in the sky, unfurling one ever-burning petal at a time. You’re making daisy chains; sitting in the wild grass in the meadow you frequent on perfectly warm days like these. In your lungs there is laughter, in your chest there is joy and on your skin are the remnants of his frequent touches, invisible to the eye but vibrant to your heart.
He’s pinning the tail of a wild flower that is violet in colour and dainty like a baby breath through one of his daisies, with careful and considered attention. Eddie is always delicate with his art, loving it like it had a soul to know. There is a zephyr-like breeze blowing at his curls that are tucked behind his ears, and he looks wonderful— like the northern lights, perhaps, dazzling and rare and precious. “And you know, you were like, totally wicked,” he says jovially, and his voice is sticky with sugar and fruit and craft cheese sandwiches. It makes you smile. “You had this sword? And it was like— sacred, or something. Struck with the power of like a thousand suns.”
There’s something simple and perfect and unmatched about this, sitting knee-to-knee, talking about worlds you’ll never see, lives you’ll never live, with nothing but happiness in your veins. You pick at a dandelion and the yellow petals turn up towards you, as if surprised you would even consider it.
(Eddie says he loves how you find beauty in even the plainest of weeds. Sometimes, you think he believes the metaphor applies to him— you wonder how such a lovely man could ever think himself so spartan, when you see the heavens in his eyes.)
“Oh yeah?” You ask him, as playful as he had been. Through your lashes, you glance at him, tongue pressed against your cheek to try and contain the way a smile begins to encompass your visage. It fails.
Agreeably, he hums, and it is a sound like honey. It blends with the whispers of the meadow. “Oh yeah,” he enunciates, perhaps proud, or smug, about the reverence of the you that had bewitched him in his dream. “You were unrivalled. Stories were told of you. Odes were dedicated to your name. And of course, I sang them.”
Amicably, the corners of his eyes crinkle. It makes his face look full, as soft and warm as his demeanour. Eddie wets his mouth habitually, and it makes you tender.
The dandelion makes a lovely addition to your string of flowers. Curiously, you ponder: “What were they about?”
“All of your victories,” Eddie recounts thoughtfully, “you’d saved towns from dragons and tyrants and witches that gobbled up little children,” he faintly tickles your side and it makes your shoulders wobble with laughter, “and— how beautiful you were. They said you blossomed like a water-lily. Nightingales performed in your honour.”
“I sound like a badass,” You nudge his arm with your own. It is warm from the weather, browning and freckled. “I think it’s cute you make me pretty. I like your dream depictions of me.”
“You’re beautiful now,” Eddie says, and he means it. “Even prettier and fiercer than anything my mind could conjure, fair lady,” he laughs, but there is sincerity in his humour. You know it, by how his eyes reflect nothing but the sweetest affection you have ever received, how he grazes his wrist against your thigh just to feel you there. “The fairest lady.”
“You’re ridiculous,” though, it makes you endlessly, irrevocably soft.
“Only for you,” Eddie returns to his work. A bird sings in the distance. It’s something you will fold into your pocket and keep forever, a little memory.
A kind silence befalls you. It’s comfortable, and easy, as things often are in his company. This is a peaceful calm that you enjoy as much as the excitable chaos that seems to be as intrinsic to Eddie’s existence as the ocean is to the shore.
You fiddle with your work, and think of the warmth that settles behind your ribs. You think about how your life is much brighter with him in it; how you are nothing if not a moth to his light.
His tongue pokes out from the corner of his mouth as he twists his chain in his hand to inspect his work. It’s a crown, you think, laced with every pretty item at his disposal. It looks beautiful, if not a little rustic.
“C’mere,” Eddie beckons, shifting so that he may face you. “It’s for you.”
Just to make him glow, you pretend to be surprised. “For me?”
“For you,” Eddie reiterates, nose wrinkling with a delightful gladness, “a gift for her noble and enchanting Sire.”
The world is pink in your vision. Rose coloured glasses, you suppose. As gracefully as you can manage, you tilt your head towards him. With careful precision, he sets it against your hair,
“How do I look?”
“Like you,” Eddie responds, with all the love in the world. “Like the most captivating woman in the world.”
He brushes his knuckles underneath your chin, just to be charming. With love buzzing beneath your skin, you lean over and kiss him.
Like always, it makes your heart soar.
Hi! really love how you work angst to happy endings in your stories, they’re written so well! Can I request a story that goes something like this?:
Let’s say the guys are having a hard time progressing at a certain point in Eddie’s campaign and one of them suggests to take a peek at Eddie’s notebook for some hints and they ask reader if she could help distract Eddie. When they almost get caught reader ends up kissing Eddie to distract him from seeing one of the guys. The kiss kinda gets heated for both of them but once the coast is clear reader abruptly stops the kiss and leaves but now Eddie suddenly has heart eyes for reader and tries to romance her after. she does fall for him until he finds out the truth about the kiss and gets all upset thinking she doesn’t like him at all.
Idk what else but please make it a happy ending! Hehe thank you!
I love this! Absolutely. I hope this is what you wanted :)
Y/N has been part of Hellfire for a few months now, and Eddie has been stuck on her since. He used his leader status to convince her she needed to be seated next to him at all campaigns, an excuse to be near her at all times. But he also didn't want a relationship, so he didn't try to become anything more.
~~~
The club were growing frustrated, every week they played Eddie's campaign and struggled to make progress. Finding themselves stuck and no idea of the direction to go.
They tried to talk about their ideas when Eddie was gone, but he'd always find out what they were planning. Snickering that their ideas would not be successful. Every idea led to failure.
Now the club sat in the hellfire room, thinking hard of what the next step would be. Eddie ran to use the restroom, knowing his sheep needed time to plan their next move.
"This is impossible....maybe we need to cheat." Mike thought out loud. The rest of the club snapped to look at him.
"Are you crazy? He would actually kill us." Dustin replied. He truly thought Mike had lost his mind.
"But honestly it's all we got. There's no way we are going to make any progress without any sort of direction and you know he isn't going to give it to us." Lucas added.
Dustin felt wrong about cheating and Y/N did too.
"I don't know. He works really hard and that's an easy way out." She said, she didn't want to discredit all of Eddie's hard work.
"It's the only option." Mike said. Reaching forward to snatch Eddie's notebook.
The club quickly read through the notes, knowing Eddie would walk back in at any second.
Dustin quickly wrote down what he thinks would be helpful and used it to their advantage.
"Quick he's coming!" Mike rushed out
Dustin tried to write as fast as he could, "Just a lit-" But the door opened, and Eddie came walking in.
His eyes landed on the club suspiciously huddled together over the table.
"What are you guys doing?" Eddie asked, trying to get closer to peek
The club panicked, "Y/N do something." Lucas whispered in her ear.
Her mind blanked she didn't know what to do, but his heavy footsteps were getting closer and closer.
She panicked, feeling his body inches away, if he got any closer he would see what they were doing.
"Hey, I a-" Eddie was caught off when Y/N smashed her lips on his. He felt his body go into shock, her lips were warm and soft. Something he didn't really think about, but now he knew it was all he was going to think about.
Her hands were in his hair, his tongue slipping into her mouth. He was running his hands all around her body, craving to touch her and touch her everywhere.
She whined as he rolled his tongue against hers, a deep groan leaving his throat as she tugged on his hair.
Dustin cleared his throat, alerting Y/N that he finished writing down the notes.
The sound knocked her back to reality, and she pulled away. Her face was on fire as she refused to look at him.
Eddie blinked watching as she sat down like nothing even happened.
~~~
A few days passed since the kiss, and neither has talked about it. The club acted as if the kiss never happened. Eddie was starting to think maybe she found it a mistake.
Eddie craved her more and more. He feels he has fallen for her even more. He wanted her, but he fears she doesn't want him.
The club was successful in completing the mission. And to celebrate, the club went to dinner. Eddie sat across from Y/N, at the end of the table. The rest of the club was stuffed in the booth next to them.
The club was talking about their big win, with cheers all around. Eddie was proud of his club but curious as to how they pulled it off.
"How did you guys do it? You went from being so behind to knowing everything." Eddie said, looking at his club suspiciously.
"We might have cheated," Dustin admitted. He felt ashamed and he needed to get it off of his chest.
"When?" Eddie asked he had a feeling something like that happened, but he wasn't mad.
"When you were tongue deep in Y/N's mouth." Mike laughed
The club laughed but Y/N shrunk in her seat, Eddie's eyes snapping to her instantly. A hurt expression crossed his face.
She kissed him so they could cheat?
She didn't like him at all
"Oh? So that kiss was just a distraction?" Eddie asked. The shakiness in his voice made her look right back at him, guilt in her stomach.
He took her silence as an answer, "I'm gonna go smoke." He snapped, moving out of the booth.
He stormed out of the restaurant, not looking back as he leaned against the wall to light his cigarette. He felt like an idiot, of course, she wouldn't like him. She was way too good for a loser like him.
Y/N felt horrible watching him through the window, "Should I talk to him?" She asked
The group looked between her and Eddie, Dustin was the first to speak up
"I think you should."
She nodded and removed herself from the booth.
A gross pit in her stomach as she found Eddie against the wall.
"Hey, can we talk?" She asked
"About?" Eddie shrugged
"The kiss" She muttered out
"Didn't mean anything, so what is there to talk about?" He asked, inhaling the smoke as he stared at her.
"Eddie, look it wasn't like that. Yes, I kissed you as a distraction, but it wasn't nothing." She admitted
"No, I get it. You kissed me so you guys could cheat. No care about my feelings about anything of it." Eddie snapped, rolling his eyes.
"I knew cheating was wrong and disrespectful to you, and we shouldn't have done it. And it was wrong to kiss you out of nowhere, and as a distraction. And I'm sorry for that." She said
"I appreciate the apology." He said she hated that he had no emotion on his face or behind his voice.
She figured that was the end of it, nodding to herself as she went to head inside, but he stopped her.
"Why was your first thought to kiss me?" He asked, he hoped in some way she was attracted to him or even liked him.
She got shy at the question, feeling her face warm as she thought it over.
"Because I've always wanted to." She shyly admitted. Her hands were in her pockets as she looked up at him
The shock on his face was clear to see, the cigarette hanging from his lip as he stared at her.
He didn't expect her to actually be into him.
"Did you kiss back because you wanted to? Or so I wouldn't embarrass myself?"
"I wanted to." He admitted, smashing his cigarette into the concrete, as he smiled in her direction.
She smiled back, a new atmosphere enclosing them.
"Can you do it again?" She asked, stepping forward as she leaned in.
He smiled as he wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting up her chin with his finger.
Meeting her lips halfway, his stomach fluttered at the familiar feeling of her lips.
She tasted his cigarette, and she loved it. The kiss felt dirty and hot. Their bodies crave each other and now they can give in.
I want you, Baby I need you
Summary: your friend tells you someone may like you and so stupidly, you begin to think about them a little differently
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader
Word count: 5.2k
A/N: I feel like my brain fog made the pacing weird :/
Warnings: bullying, girls being mean :(, lots of fluff and pining!!
Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Guess what?” One of your teammates, Christina, asks the second you place your tray down on the table, looking too smug for your liking. Before you can even ask, she’s talking over you. “The freak has a crush on you.”
“Who?” You genuinely forget who she’s referring to for a second, but her scoff seems to jog your memory. “Oh. Eddie Munson?”
“Who else?” She sneers, and everyone else around you laughs like it’s some huge joke, but you’re certain she isn’t joking. “God, how embarrassing.”
Your cheeks burn as they laugh even harder. You let out a weak chuckle, feeling the world around you shrink and become suffocating.
“Yeah,” you let out, trying to play along. “Could you imagine? Me and him?”
You blatantly refuse to call him a freak. Since moving into town two years ago, you quickly learned city life and small town life were completely different worlds. Despite falling in with the semi-popular crowd by joining the swimming team, you understood the struggle Eddie and his friends had to go through. You weren’t freak status back home, but you weren’t popular either. Not always well known, but always well liked, and your new friends teasing him about the rumor makes you worry about it spreading. For your sake and not his. You don’t want to deal with any sort of teasing from anyone.
Guilt crawls up your throat as you steal a glance toward his table, catching his eye as he curiously looks on at the boisterous scene going on around you. You give a quick smile, which probably comes off as more of a wince, and turn back around. In all honesty, he hasn’t been on your radar. You don’t know much about him other than the fact that he’s loud, labeled The Freak of Hawkins High, and has made a scene or two in class.
“Oh god,” Christina sighs out, wiping nonexistent tears from her eyes. “Pathetic.”
Humming half heartedly, you focus on shoving your shitty school food around your tray instead of eating it, a sudden pit sitting heavy in your stomach. Because Eddie having a crush on you actually felt flattering.
You choose to sit next to him in English, even give a small smile when you sit. There’s still time before the bell rings, and you find yourself glancing over at him. You open and close your mouth, uncertain of what to say until the words suddenly come tumbling out.
“How many tattoos do you have?”
For a second he doesn’t realize you’re talking to him until the silence makes him look up and realize you’re staring straight at him, expectantly. He points to himself as if asking ‘me?’ eyebrows raised and his already wide doe eyes getting even wider. And you nod while fighting off a smile.
“Why d’you wanna know?” He eyes you suspiciously, certain that whatever information you’re about to get out of him is going to get back to your friends and fuel the constant fire over his head.
“I dunno,” you shrug a shoulder, but you’re honest. What the fuck were you supposed to say to Eddie Munson anyway? He was intimidating as hell because he put himself in the spotlight like it was nothing. It isn’t like you hate attention, but too much makes you nauseous. “Thinking about getting one, I guess?”
“You guess?” His head tilts, causing his hair to cascade over his shoulder. Of course he would be defensive. Christina was just making fun of him less than an hour ago.
“It’s- forget it,” you shake your head. You can’t believe you would trust your nasty, mean friends when they said he had a crush on you.
Turning back to the front of the classroom, you wait painfully for the bell to ring, and once it does, the room fills quickly with slightly out of breath students. A couple of your teammates wave at you until you finally break and they gesture wildly, asking ‘what the fuck are you doing sitting next to him?’ All you can do is give an apologetic shrug and decide you’ll lie to them later and say it was the only seat you could find. They just roll their eyes and pull out their textbooks.
“Five.” Eddie’s voice surprises you.
Turning your head, you hope no one sees when you ask. “Did they hurt?”
“No, ‘course not.” He bites back a smile, trying to act all tough.
“Liar.” Your nose scrunches and it makes him laugh at how cute it is.
You don’t mean to, truly, but now you look out for Eddie in the halls, stare at him during class, and hope for one more conversation. One that’s less embarrassing, but you do hope. Despite your friend's relentless teasing after English class the other day, you give a small wave back anytime he gives you one. You never initiate first, too shy and afraid it’ll lead to more teasing. This way you can just say you’re being polite when you wave back and they see, but more often than not, they’re too caught up in their own little worlds. Even though you’re scared they’ll tease, you keep an eye out for him and you learn more than you ever knew before. He’s polite. He lets the cheerleaders walk ahead if they bump into each other at a corner in the hall. One arm is tucked behind his back as he sweeps the other out and he bows a little. They give him weird looks respectively, but he just smiles and moves on. He might joke around with his friends, but if you listen closely, you can hear the kindness and compliments hidden underneath the meaning of his words. The group is small, but he holds the same amount of care for each and every one of them. Including his ‘little sheepies’ which you don’t fully understand, but he used a lot of words you don’t understand, and you thought you were smart. After a little investigating, you learn some of them are made up, but you seem to like the fact that he’s nerdy and into this series called Lord of the Rings.
You’re starting to like Eddie.
“Oh my God,” Christina moves in your line of sight, in front of him. You’d positioned yourself at the cafeteria table so you didn’t have to turn around to subtly watch him anymore. “Are you staring at the freaks?”
“Stop calling them that,” you roll your eyes. “You know I hate that.”
She crosses her arms defensively. “Just, you know, being honest. What’s so interesting about them anyway?”
“Nothing.” You mutter, going back to nibbling on the shitty cardboard pizza they served today.
She turns around and gets the biggest shit eating grin you’ve ever seen from her when her eyes connect with Eddie’s.
“Holy shit. You’ve got a crush on The freak!”
“Christina!” You swat at her, but it’s too late. Everyone else at your table already heard and is staring at you incredulously. “I- I do not.”
“Puh-lease. You’ve been making googly eyes at him for weeks at this point!”
“It hasn’t been weeks,” you mutter under your breath.
“Ew!” Another one of the girls scrunches her nose and jabs a thumb in his direction. “Him?”
“Better be careful, Y/N,” another taunts. “Don’t wanna find you in the woods. I heard he, like, sacrificed a girl out there last year. No one’s heard from her since.”
“Oh my god, me too!” Christina pretends to look concerned. “You think that’s what happened to Nancy’s friend too? What was her name? Bev?”
“Didn’t he like…” the girl to your left leans in and stage whispers, but she could be heard from across the room if you listened hard enough. None of them understood the concept of speaking at a normal volume. “Bite a bat's head off?”
“That was actually Ozzy Ozbourne!” Eddie leans so far back in the chair that the two front legs don’t touch the ground, one of his legs lifted so the bottom of his dirty Reebok’s supports his weight against the table.
You’re mortified at the idea that Eddie has heard every single word, but he was at the other end of the long table today.
“Ugh,” Christina rolls her eyes again before turning to face him. “As if we know that freak either!”
“Tina,” you hiss, not wanting to start a scene over this nonsense.
“Whatever. You don’t have a crush.” She fully faces the table again and starts talking about the party at Jason’s after the game on Friday.
You go to throw an apologetic look at Eddie, but find him missing from the table, and a couple of his friends send glares your way, making you shrink in shame.
Eddie isn’t in English, or History, and you find out through the grapevine he skips the rest of the day entirely. It wasn’t uncommon for him to do, but you feel like it’s your fault. The days leading up to the party, he seems to avoid you, eyes darting away quickly and showing up late enough to class that it’s guaranteed there’s no free seats around you. Christina seems to take notice of your sour mood, but only asks once. You lie and say you’re fine, but you feel sick to your stomach. You never actively partook in the bullying, but you never stopped it either.
The day of the game finally rolls around, filled with school spirit and a pep rally, but once again Eddie is nowhere to be found. Not that he’d ever attended a pep rally in his whole high school career, but you at least expected to spot him at lunch. He’s even absent from your shared classes. After school, you hang around in the parking lot, wasting time before you all have to go home and get ready for the game. You frown as you observe his friends, chatting away aimlessly and occasionally throwing candy around. They hang around what you think is Eddie’s van, but if he skipped all day, why would he be here now?
“Hey,” Christina’s voice surprises you, quiet and genuine. “Just us girls… you have a crush on Munson?”
“I…” you trail off, surprised she isn’t faking her valley girl voice, and you feel like you can trust her once again since you met her two years ago. She wasn’t your first friend in Hawkins, but you had been close when you first joined the team. “I dunno. He’s actually kinda sweet. Maybe?”
“Seriously?” And then she guffaws, catching you off guard once more. “Ugh, grody! Guys, Y/N actually has a crush on Munson!”
“I- I didn’t say that!” You can’t believe Christina would do something like that. As you watch them all laugh and tease, you wonder when they all got so mean and why you started letting them get away with it.
“You said maybe. That’s, like, totally a yes!”
“Like it’s such a bad thing to have a crush on me?”
Everyone quiets as you slowly turn around to find Eddie standing there, hands shoved in the pockets of his leather jacket.
“Eddie, I…” you aren’t even sure what to say as he glares down at you.
“I wouldn’t be caught dead hanging around you, Munson.” Christina’s voice makes you squeeze your eyes shut in frustrated embarrassment. “Even your parents couldn’t stand to stay around. Must be hard having a cultist son. Fucking embarrassing.”
The lot gets so quiet, you can hear the grinding of his teeth as he sets his jaw. He doesn’t even dignify her with a response, turning and walking away before anyone can see the red staining his cheeks.
“Tina… that was major harsh.” One of the girls breaks the silence.
“Oh, eat my shorts, Janice. Are we getting ready at my house or not?”
Everyone seems to hesitate but Christina was captain of the team. No one was going to say no. Well, no one but you.
“I’ve, um, got a thing. I’ll meet you guys at the game.” You glance over toward Eddie, watching as he harshly shoves his shoulder back to avoid one of his friends' hands.
You shouldn’t go to the game, but you do.
Janice called you from Christina’s house, sounding hopeful. You promised to be there, despite your whole body screaming at you to just stay home. Janice promises the whole thing will blow over by Monday, and something else will come along. But it won’t just blow over with Eddie. You know that. He had looked so hurt when you turned around to face him. In all the years of getting bullied, that was the first time he showed anyone what their words did to him. And it was your fault.
You had promised Janice you’d be there, but when you stand outside the gymnasium, you can’t make yourself go in. Can’t make yourself face who you thought were your friends. So, you walk down a path between the large building and the school and take out a key. The pool was somewhat separated, but you could still hear the muffled band playing when you entered the echoey room. You keep a spare swimsuit in your locker for this exact situation. The sport helped clear your mind and you needed to get rid of the image of Eddie’s broken look.
You swim even after the cheering and the band stops. You swim until you feel like your limbs are going to fall off, and even though you don’t want to, you shower off the chlorine. As you step out into the somewhat cool autumn air, a double door bursts open, and the kids that come spilling out make you stop.
His little sheepies. Which means…
Fuck.
Eddie is the last one out, smile so wide you can’t help but wonder if it hurts. They all talk over each other, but Eddie just seems to watch over in pride. You take a step back into the shadows, hoping your bright multicolored windbreaker doesn’t give you away.
“Hey!” Is that… Steve Harrington? “You guys were supposed to be done an hour ago.”
“The campaign ends when it ends, Steve!” One of them retorts back.
“Yeah, well, I don’t have all night Henderson. Let’s go!”
All three freshmen rush to Steve’s BMW and scramble inside. He and Eddie share a nod before he gets in and peels out of the lot, and you can still hear all of them shouting in excitement. The other three seniors exchange goodbyes before parting ways, but Eddie sticks behind. Neither of you move until all the cars are gone except for his van and yours. Why the fuck hasn’t he moved?
“Is it just you?” Eddie finally speaks, turning toward your piss poor excuse of a hiding spot. “Or is the rest of the team waiting somewhere?”
“I’m- I’m alone.” It scares you once you realize you’re the only two on the property. Probably the only two within a few miles at this point. “Look, I’m really sorry about them. Christina especially. I don’t know when she got so…”
“Bitchy?”
That makes you breathe out a laugh, not realizing you were holding your breath. “Yeah, I guess you could say that.”
It’s quiet for a moment as he shifts his weight to his other leg, observing you and the whole situation.
“Do you want to sit by the pool and talk?” It’s starting to feel pretty creepy outside, and the cold night wasn’t helping your wet hair.
“I thought it was locked after hours.”
You hold up the bronze key, but offer up an explanation anyway. “My uncle is actually the coach. He got me into swimming competitively in the first place. Technically I’m not allowed to bring friends in but…”
“Good thing I’m not really a friend.” He walks past you and you’re a bit frozen in place, not believing he accepted.
You’re nervous as you unlock the door once more and wave him inside like he would but you give an awkward curtsy. As he’s turning in a small circle to take in how the water reflects off the walls and ceiling, you slip off your shoes and roll up your jeans as far as you can go. He begins to do the same when he sees you sticking your feet in the water.
“Jesus Chri-! That’s cold!” His voice bounces off the walls, and your laughter follows.
“Well, yeah, most pools are.” You tuck your hands underneath your thighs and move your right leg around in small circles, disrupting the water. “Didn’t see you at the game.”
“That kind of stuff is bullshit. Forced conformity.” Before he goes on a rant, he looks at the sly smile on your face, as if you were going to enjoy this topic of conversation. But he knew you’d react either of two ways if he kept on. Confused, or freaked out. So he leans back on his palms and tries to act casual. “And if I’m guessing right, you weren’t there either.”
“Didn’t feel like it.” You give a halfhearted shrug. “Christina really… what she said about your parents— I just don’t see her the same anymore. I don’t know how it happened, but she just got so mean, and everyone’s too scared to say anything because she's the captain. Sorry, I’m- ranting.”
“Christina wasn’t far off.”
The admission bounces around as you look at him.
“Eddie…”
“It was forever ago.” He kicks the water, causing a small splash. “Aren’t you co-captain anyway?”
“Yeah? So?” You didn’t think he would know that, and it makes you feel all mushy inside that he knows something so simple about you.
“So don’t you have us much say as her?”
“With her tyrannical rule? No way.”
“No shame in running, but sometimes you gotta be the hero.”
“Yeah,” you scoff. “I’m sure getting to Mordor would be easier than standing up to Christina.”
“You’ve read…?”
“No.” That’s a half lie. “Well, sorta. I haven’t gotten very far. I don’t know if it’s my thing, but you talk about it so much, I wanted to check out all the hype.”
Eddie looks taken aback, mouth hung open.
“Is that what dungeons and dragons is?” You ask curiously, which seems to take him back even more. “I mean everybody says it’s bad, but it’s just nerd shit, right? Sorry, I didn’t mean—“
“It is nerd shit.” He straightens his back at the new topic of conversation. “All it is, is tabletop fantasy role play. Doesn’t have to be like Lord of the Rings. You could have a whole western fantasy campaign. Maybe even in space.” He’s ranting, and god does he know it, but you lean in instead of awkwardly looking away like everyone else does.
“Campaign…?”
“Well, it’s…” Eddie thinks for a moment before explaining in the most simple of terms how a campaign works. You nod along, enthralled by every detail, even when he derails and starts rambling about character class and stats. He rambles on about their current campaign to help explain better, and he uses silly voices and moves animatedly. You laugh, but not at him. He continues to tease, loving your laugh and that you aren’t making fun of him. His arms flail a bit and he gives a few teasing nudges, but in his excitement he forgets his strength.
“Wait, Eddie-!” You fall in the water, grabbing on to him in an attempt to stop, but end up pulling him down with you. The both of you come up spluttering, but you end up laughing at the mop of hair on his head.
“Shit,” he laughs nervously. “It’s deep.”
“Wait. Can you swim?”
“Well, I’m no athlete, but yeah. I can swim.”
“Well…” you swim forward, a sly smile creeping its way onto your face. “Might as well, right? We’re already in here. You’ll want your jacket off, though. It’s gonna be too much dead weight.”
“Right, I’ll uh…”
“Here, I’ll keep us afloat while you get it off.”
Before he can understand what’s happening, you wrap your arms around his waist, your face entirely too close to his. With what little space you have, you can see freckles splashing across his face, and you chew on the inside of your cheek to keep your composure. He avoids eye contact as he struggles out of the leather, the tip of his tongue making a surprise appearance, before tossing the jacket aside and it lands with a loud wet slap.
“Cool. Now good luck catching me!” You splash him a little harsher than you had intended, but you make a dash to escape.
“You’re gonna regret that!”
You’re a lot better at swimming than he is, almost too fast to be caught, but you slow down after awhile on purpose. As his hand wraps around your ankle, making you squeal, you tell yourself you did it to not wear him out and frustrate him. That you didn’t want to anger him, as he’s pulling you into him and dunking both of you under water. You struggle against his arms, but he’s strong. You can feel the unexpected muscle against your hands, but he lets you go too soon and you both come up gasping for air.
“Told ya.” water sprays a bit from his mouth as his chest heaves.
“You cheated.”
“I never cheat, sweetheart.” He wades toward you slowly, dropping down just until his mouth sinks into the water.
“Eddie Munson, don’t you dare,” you warn but your tone is too light. “You dunk me again, I’ll- I’ll make sure you smell like chlorine for a week.”
He doesn’t listen, and you swim backward until your back crashes into the tiled wall. The cold sends a shiver down your spine. Definitely not the way Eddie comes back up, water dripping from his chin and his arms blocking you in on either side of you. His eyes drop to your lips and you find yourself breathing heavily for a completely different reason, your chest brushing against his with every inhale. Neither of you make a move, just admiring every detail you can while breathing each other's air. Just when you think he might, a loud bang comes from one of the locker rooms, making you both jump and look around frantically. You find yourself gripping one of his forearms tightly in shock.
“We should- we should probably get out.” No one else had access to the pool except your uncle, but you doubted he would come by at midnight. He trusted you to not fool around, and you really hadn’t let him down until now. “I swear the locker rooms are haunted.”
Still, you don’t move until he does, and swim to the nearest ladder to get out. The only sound is the water from your clothes dripping on the floor, and suddenly you feel exhausted. Your clothes feel heavy as they cling to your skin. Without discussing it, you both start peeling your clothes off, slightly turned away to give each other privacy. As you’re wringing out your shirt, you can’t help but glance over your shoulder at Eddie, and catch the way his shoulder blades move while he does the same. His eyes catch yours and you smile sheepishly before turning back around. You’re both down to your underwear, unsure of how to proceed.
“We should shower. Alone I mean. You can go to the boys’. There’s towels.” You speed walk away, too self conscious to hang around too long.
“Wait!” He follows you quickly, careful not to slip. “You’re just gonna drop the fact that the locker rooms are haunted and then leave me alone to fend for myself?”
Your footsteps slow, and you let out a small huff because you know you know you’ll feel guilty until the end of time if you do that to him.
“There’s going to be rules, Munson.”
“Oh, of course.” He agrees quietly.
“We go in at the same time and undress fully in our own shower. You’re not to come out until I have, and even then, you’re not to look anywhere but your own shower. When I say it’s okay, you can leave, got it?”
“I think you forgot the part about the towels.”
“Do not make me regret this.”
You’ve never been so self conscious showering until now. Even with a zero percent chance of Eddie seeing you naked, you worry, but you also think about the fact that he’s in the same exact state you’re in right now. That somehow makes the whole thing feel way too intimate, and you can’t believe the first time you got to hang out with your -possible- crush, you both end up naked. If that basic, no detailed rumor got out, you’d surely die of embarrassment. Turning around, you place your face underneath the stream of water, trying so hard to not think about the small glimpse of his torso that you got. The dark patch of hair sneaking underneath his boxers that clung to his thighs from the water.
“So, are you from Hawkins?” His voice brings you out of your wandering thoughts. You quickly turn the knob from hot to cold in hopes that it keeps you calm.
“My parents are.” Looking down, you watch the water swirl around at your feet. “My grandmother got sick and my uncle couldn’t take care of her by himself. So, we packed up and moved back here, but I can tell my parents are happy to be back home. It’s less demanding than the city.”
“The uncle being coach thing makes a lot more sense now.”
“Not a lot of people know actually.” You turn the water off completely, and wrap your arms around your torso self consciously. “I’m getting out now.”
It isn’t the easiest topic of conversation, but when she had first gotten sick two years ago, your mother went to stay with her for the three months she had been told she would live. When it was clear she was going to hang on longer than expected, they decided it would just be better to move permanently and the old lady was still sticking around. Despite being so sick, you liked hanging out with her most afternoons. Even if she forgot who you were.
You carefully walk out of the shower, towel wrapped around yourself tightly, and as you pass by the stall that Eddie is in, you catch a glimpse in the crack between the curtain and wall. All you manage to catch is the back of his head, arms extended upward to wash out whatever shampoo you’d let him borrow. He begins to turn and you look away with your cheeks burning. You attempt to dry your hair underneath one of the hand dryers, and it isn't long when Eddie comes out, damp boxers back on and using the towel you gave him to rub his hair dry. He pauses seeing you kneeled down, holding the towel to your chest so that nothing gets exposed and he realizes he forgot to wait for your okay, but you don’t seem to mind as you give a soft smile.
“I’ll grab our clothes.” He says when the dryer finally turns off and leaves you to get somewhat decent.
He’s suddenly so quiet as he hands over your clothes, no witty comment or joke as the two of you get dressed. All there is between you are stolen glances and nervous smiles. Once fully clothed again, you walk beside him, feeling a little stiff. Not from how your cold clothes stick to you, but from nerves. The soft lights from the pool make his face glow, and your stomach drops in the best way possible. He gets the door for you, and waits with his hands stuffed in his jacket as you lock up. The grass crunches underneath your footsteps, dry from the temperature and lack of rain. Neither of you speak, until you hit the parking lot, cars too far from each other to continue walking together.
“Were they right?” You ask before he gets a chance to escape, arms anxiously crossed over your chest. “My friends. ‘Cause if they were… I think I have one too.”
“Have what?”
Shit. You were too vague.
“A crush, dummy.”
Realization dawns on his face as he absorbs your confession. He can’t believe it, and the worst smallest part of him thinks you’ve done this whole thing as a joke, and someone is going to pop out with a camera to capture how big of an idiot he’s been. All that happens is you chew on your bottom lip, anxiously waiting for an answer, and he's leaving your heart out in the open for too long.
“Yes, yeah, they were right.” He watches how you smile and takes a mental image to last forever. “I’m not really quiet about anything.”
“I just never expected…” you shake your head and look at your feet. “You. You’ve just so suddenly become this big thing in my life.”
Eddie barely has to take a step to be close enough to take your face in his hands and lift your head up to pull you into a searing kiss. It’s so unexpected that you laugh in surprise against his lips, but he smiles at the sound. When you’ve settled down, you move your arms around his neck, pulling him closer, eager to feel his heartbeat slow to match the rhythm of your own. He kisses you so sweetly, you really do think he’s a gentleman. A quick slip of his tongue doesn’t change your mind either.
“If you don’t stop me,” he gets out between kisses. “We’ll be here all night sweetheart.”
“I like that idea,” you tease as his lips move along your jawline, and down your neck. Your eyelids flutter closed, and you focus on every feeling.
Eddie pulls back, showing some self restraint and you almost whine at the loss of contact.
“You’re gonna get a cold if you stay out here.”
“So will you!”
“I’m going to walk you to your car, and you’re going to go home and get all snuggled in bed, okay?” He traces your bottom lip with his thumb, the ghost of a smile ever present.
“Fine.”
Eddie takes your hand, intertwining your fingers together, and walks the short distance to your car. You make no move to enter, back pressed against the driver side door, and grab him by his jacket. He braces himself with one arm, looking down at you, his other hand stroking your cheek with the back of his pointer finger. The featherlight touch makes you shiver, and you find yourself getting lost in his almost pitch black eyes. Those eyes that are so beautiful and full of lashes, that a cow would be jealous. You pull him in for another kiss, arms wrapping underneath his jacket and around his small waist. He groans into your mouth, not wanting to leave if you were going to kiss him slowly like that.
“I’m personally thanking Christina on Monday.” He gives your knuckles a quick kiss before taking a few steps backwards, not wanting to look away, and turning for his own vehicle.
Christina’s head almost explodes when he does exactly that and plants a kiss on your lips in the cafeteria, but you just act innocent when you take his outstretched hand and move to sit with him at his table. It felt good, and it felt even better when you give her the finger when she wouldn’t stop staring.
Beautiful Swan
Eddie Munson x reader
(Summary: When Hellfire starts a fun little game of ‘what animal does everyone look like?’ your self-esteem plummets to the floor. But your best friend and crush, Eddie, can tell. And he’s there to not only defend you, but make sure he’s around to help pick you back up <3. Tw: negative body image. Reuploaded from my ao3. 9.4K)
Tumblr media
You’d finally finished today’s session. Eddie decided the cliffhanger he’d brought up was the best place to leave it, the worst for you and the rest of Hellfire unfortunately. But that meant you guys had a few minutes where you could all just chat and hang out.
Eddie waddled up to you, nudging his shoulder against your own to get your attention, and when you looked to him, all he did was smile at you. You chuckled smally back, rubbing your shoulder against his playfully too.
You loved the fact that when Eddie enrolled you in his campaign, he pulled out the seat right next to his for you, on your very first day. Pushing it in with a genuinely charming smile as you sat, and a short bow of his head, as you thanked him. Gareth seemed to get a pencil thrown at his head right after that, although you were too busy starting at Eddie’s pretty smile he was giving just to you. So you guess he’s the one who lost his chair.
It wasn’t just his genuine and effortless charm that made you fall in love with Eddie Munson though, even before he was your best friend, although that certainly added to it. From the moment you saw Eddie, you were completely enamoured. Not just romantically, but he had such an aura around him it just made you want to be someone close to him till the end of time. You’d love, more than anything, for Eddie to ask you out. On a proper date, not just asking his friend to chill at the arcade or smoke weed in his empty trailer. Although you still enjoyed every interaction with him. Him asking you to do those as his girlfriend would be a great day! But it wasn’t going to happen.
Even though Eddie didn’t see much about himself, you tried to talk him up, as much as you could, even if sometimes it fell into the not completely platonic category, you would tell him, because he deserved to know every good thing about himself. You truly saw how amazing Eddie was. And while you two were best friends... you feared there was no way in hell, he would ever even consider thinking about you like that.
Not that you’d hold that against him! Of course not! He didn’t owe you anything, he was perfectly fine being attracted to who he was attracted to. But you sometimes just wished, you looked a little less like yourself, because now and again your gut just whispered to you all the parts of your body that made you unlovable to another person. Especially someone you admired so much, like Eddie Munson.
Eddie nudged you with his hip this time. And a laugh seeped from his bitten smirk as you shoved his arm with your hand, easily regaining his balance but using your shoulders to do so. You giggled back, offering your help by steadying his own shoulders, and letting go once he was on his feet. Eddie however, did not let go of your eyes. Still grinning, his body turned to give you his full attention. “How was today’s session princess?” His hand coyly flipped half over his grin, holding his elbow, like he was rocked with anticipation for your answer.
Your character wasn’t even royalty. And you refused to ever play the damsel in distress role, in a group filled with only boys. But Eddie still called you that pet name. And it made you smitten every damn single time. You at least presumed, it was a dnd reference.
“Was I an... adequate dungeon master?” He leant closer to you but didn’t whisper it. You sucked your lips in even though you made it clear you were smiling, just trying not to giggle, with the way Eddie made you feel. “Well... adequate may be a grand understatement, my noble dungeon master.”
Eddie’s fist skyrocketed to his chest, eyes closed as he let out a grateful sound. “You’re too kind sweet princess! For I surely would’ve been strewn in twain, if you thought any less of me.”
Eddie never gave up the silly voices, and he only peeked open one eye to see if you were amused, teeth gleaming in glee as he saw your cheeks raise as you laughed. He winked that open eye at you, before dropping his hands to his sides.
You went to swat at his chest teasingly again, but Eddie easily brushed away your hand with his own, smirking at his easy victory over you. His smirk soon transitioned into a smile, and his lips opened as if to say something else. Until Mike spoke up loudly.
“This is boring! Let’s play a game.”
Eddie didn’t even take his eyes off you before dramatically rolling them. You giggled, hiding it in your hand, but at the sound Eddie’s slumped shoulders bounced right back up, and he beamed at you proudly.
“Aw. Do the babies all need to play games to stay happy?” Gareth teased, flicking Mike’s forehead, who then bat at the band members hand like an angry cat.
“Dude shut up. You’re making us look like babies!” Dustin smally whacked Mike, Lucas agreeing. You laughed a little into Eddie, who’s shoulder was still close to yours and not going anywhere. The poor freshmen did still have to fight a little bit to get taken seriously sometimes. Although no one would debate that Eddie held the most power in this room.
“Let’s say what animal everyone looks like!” Jeff smoothly input, pivoting immediately around to his friend. “Gareth is naked mole rat.”
“A WHAT?!” All of the boys erupted into laughter, expect for Gareth who was hitting Jeff with a book. Even Eddie’s chorus rang out behind you and you loved that sound. But oh God.
A cold slimy feeling ran down your throat and seemed to climb up your spine in canon. This game would not be for you. You know you struggle with self-esteem issues, you realise that. Sometimes you felt bad even being in Eddie’s Hellfire logo shirt. It could feel too skin tight and suffocating, nothing to do with Eddie’s printing, but your own nauseating feeling like you somehow didn’t deserve to be wearing it.
You would really prefer if you guys could’ve just kept talking instead. If you could be chatting with Eddie right now, instead of standing here with literal goosebumps on your skin from the threat of this conversation. Would there be anyway you could get out of being picked at this that wouldn’t look odd? You weren’t sure.
Eddie crossed his arms, biting back a smile as he looked at his young warriors, Lucas energetically shaking Jeff and Mike who stood beside him. “Who should we do next?”
God you hoped they didn’t pick you. You knew Eddie wouldn’t be cruel, you knew he was a very empathetic guy, who from his own experiences, knew when words could hurt more than most. You loved that about him, and he loved that you could actually see how kind he could be, and not just because he had such kind eyes. Some of the things he told you in private, only you, were things only a genuinely emotionally intelligent person would know. And even though the other guys were your friends too, you dreaded the thought of them all staring at you and judging an animal from that. ...What would they even pick?
‘A slug.’ Is what popped into your mind. But you shudder, hating yourself for thinking that way. And hating yourself because you almost believe that is an animal you could resemble. It’s stupid. You have to clear the thought away immediately, focus on something, Eddie’s smile at liking this new game, just so you didn’t actually think hard about what you could argue might’ve been an intrusive thought. If you think too hard on it, you’ll bring yourself down and you can’t do that around the others, it’ll just bring them down too.
“Dustin... Dustin...” Mike pondered, now realising he got to make fun of his best friends too.
“Oh shit. Yeah, Dustin...?” Lucas piped up, swivelling more to his side as they both, all of you, stared down your cap wearing friend.
Mike continued. “Hmm... Dustin.”
“You guys better be careful.” Dustin warned, holding up a karate chop hand to show he was serious, making you and Eddie giggle into each other.
Into each other! Your giggles shifted your bodies about until Eddie’s shoulder was leaning against yours. And he stayed in that position! Normally you wouldn’t be this excited because you were physically close as friends, it wasn’t unusual, but when your heart’s already going, everything seemed bigger. You tried desperately not to move, self conscious about your own breathing now, was it rubbing Eddie the wrong way, was it loud? Nasally? And oh my god this is an uncomfy position. Did you look unnatural positioned like this? Like you just wanna touch Eddie? Which is ridiculous because you touch him all the time! You literally hugged this morning. And Eddie held your high five after he’d graced you with one, swinging your hands down and wrapping it in his own as he continued his description of the, courtesy of you, slain goblin. Swinging your hand for a few seconds so it was enough to be causal, not enough for someone to call anyone out on, but enough to be long enough to make you question. And have something to giggle over in bed that night when you thought about it.
Mike and Lucas just laughed at Dustin’s display, before the former decided. “An ostrich.”
It seemed to not be anything Dustin was expecting at least, if his whole body leaning back was enough to tell. “An ostrich? Why the shit?”
“I don’t know” Mike fake stroked his chin, Lucas following in suit as all the members now tried to see the relation in the curly haired boy. “It’s something to do with the eyes. Too beady, too... untrustworthy.”
Dustin scoffed. And there was silence, only for a few seconds in the club room, which was still rare. But everyone was busy contemplating Dustin. Until Gareth spoke calmly. “Jeff’s a blobfish.”
“What the hell is a blobfish?!” Jeff double taked, looking at his best friend incredulously.
“The ugliest animal in the world.” Everyone snickered. “We can probably find a pic of it in the library, if you’re okay breaking into the scary adults only section.”
You were part of the ensemble of laughs everyone gave, including Jeff’s cheerfully fake one before he tackled Gareth, noogieing him hard as the other boy cackled in his grip. You were glad everyone could joke around as friends like this. At first the guys were all a little nicer to you. The freshmen of the group were clearly already friends, as were Gareth and Jeff, but Eddie, even being friends with all of them, accepted you into his close circle almost immediately. You were glad when the guys realised they could just treat you like their other friends, they didn’t need to coddle you just because you were a girl. Although you were a little nervous about the rough housing around this topic.
Sure you could take some light teasing, you weren’t a baby, and you hazed the guys right back, but you had a feeling whichever animal they all said looked like you, is something that’s going to be spiralling into the back of your mind quickly. And you were a bit nervous for any disatourous consequences that could come of that.
The two band members were getting a little rougher, still laughing away, but knocking into the table now. The freshmen all eagerly cheering them on. And even though the session was over, the pieces were about to be put away from their strategic positions on the map, Eddie still raised his hand as he watched his beloved hand painted figures topple.
“Hey hey HEY!” Eddie called out, his hand spread out and everyone, you included, falling into silence under your leader, a smile on his face that got you all invested in whatever wise words he’d say. “I’m the dungeon master here!” Eddie threw both his arms wide open dramatically now, smiling fiercely at his little group. “Have you all forgotten who’s God when you’re wearing those shirts?” He scoffed at the guys who were settling down, smiling to you as you watched them all fall in line, his hair bouncing as he rolled his eyes with his whole head. It made you smile. “I’ll decide who’s what!”
Eddie dropped his arms once you all were grinning, eagerly waiting for him to cast his opinions. And firstly, Eddie turned on his heel to you. Both his feet plopped in place firmly, hands swinging behind his back as he hummed to your self, looking you up and down.
Now your heart was truly pounding. You hid the worry on your face easily, just smiling back with such a nice look that it almost was daring him to be mean to someone so loveable, and loyal in your group.
Finally Eddie resigned, with a hand extending to yours, smiling with heart as he finally got the animal he was searching for. “For y/n... a swan.”
Now that hadn’t been what you were expecting. You could feel your head flinch back from the unexpected declaration. For a moment you tried to decipher if there was anything physically about you that was truly swan like that surpassed all the, well, you. But coming up with a blank for that, you felt your heart spike in the good way you’d only felt around Eddie in recent years. A genuine smile crept onto your features and this time you didn’t hold it back.
You and Eddie were still looking right at each other, and he grinned as he saw you spark up at the name. But before you could ask, in a voice you dreadfully knew would be smaller and higher pitched than your usual but you for once didn’t care about, Mike popped up with a question of his own to your dm.
“Soooo, is that because of the ugly duckling thing, orrrr?..”
The rest of the club burst into laughter, Mike more than anyone, looking to you with pride at his jab. You guys did tease each other quite a lot, it helped solidify a lot of friendships early on. The only one who didn’t laugh was Eddie.
You’d laughed at their joke. Not in a large way, but you pointed your finger and stretched out as if to hit their shoulders as they teased, but you laughed along with your friends in their game. Even though as soon as the joke left Mike’s mouth, and the laughter started up, you felt a stabbing pain, starting from your heart, wreaking havoc all over your body. In your life you’d gotten used to laughing after a while, you knew it was easier for everyone else. And it was easier for you if you just played along and didn’t make them uncomfortable. ’Ugly duckling...’ you thought, ’couldn’t have picked better myself. My friends clearly know me so well.’ A glum cloud was moving over you.
Eddie wasn’t too thrilled though. “Hey knock that shit off.” He growled warningly at Mike, who only raised in hands in fake surrender before bringing them to his knees to laugh again. Eddie telling them off almost made it funnier to them. Well, his reactions did really.
With Eddie’s eyes on Mike and Lucas, Gareth raised his hand behind Eddie’s back quickly “Have you turned into the pretty swan yet?”
He yelped and ran as Eddie span around to whack upside his head, hiding behind Jeff with a playfully startled look on his face. Like a dog wanting to play chase.
You didn’t answer his question, and you didn’t even have to laugh as everyone’s attention was on the scene Gareth was making with Eddie. It allowed you to just sink into the background, wishing the shadowy room, a perfect set up by Eddie, the auteur of Hellfire Club, would swallow you whole so you didn’t have to grin till your cheeks hurt, and hide the redness you knew would eventually stain your eyes.
“No I meant swan! Just swan!” Eddie whipped his explanation to the room, frustrated everyone was making such a big deal about what was supposed to be his compliment to you, twisting his words like everyone else in town did. Except this time it made his heart hammer like it hadn’t since he’d accepted the fact nearly everyone hated him, because you were on the receiving end, and not him. “That’s not what I mea- shut up you guys!” His eyes found yours now, and you were just standing exactly where you were before, a neutral look plastered across your expression, minus your upper lip you sucked in.
“You have never been, and are not, an ugly duckling.”
There was a pregnant pause. Your wide eyes were held on Eddie’s soft ones, one hand pressed out to you, the other behind him where the majority of the guys were, like he was trying to forcefully separate you from the bullies, even if they did think it was all joking, and you thought he knew you wouldn’t try and distance those opinions yourself, from the way he kept looking at you. His own lips mirrored yours, the only movement in the room apart from his chest rising and falling as he breathed, sucking it in as he waited for you. He hadn’t meant to start any type of conversation like this, and you knew he didn’t like where it’d gone. With just a few moments of him watching you like that, you felt a small smile start to tug at your lips where they were previously tucked away, heartbeat softening under his gaze and words.
That was until words not spoken by Eddie, broke the graceful moment supposendly only noticed between the two of you.
“Like... so what, is y/n aging backwards, orrrr??” Dustin asked the group, snapping the silence of the room. It was quickly completely shattered as everyone praised Dustin for his comeback. You watched Eddie’s shoulders fall in a sigh, squinting his eyes just a little harder than usual.
Your stomach flipped as the boy you almost felt was a little brother to you cut you deep.
Great, even Dustin was properly joining in now. His words almost stung the most. But even as your brain thought that, your heart thought another thing ’not him too...’
“Seriously, knock it off!“ Eddie growled deeply at his members, more firm than the last time he said it. But the guys just didn’t get it. They weren’t taking him seriously, they didn’t realise they were supposed to. Dustin hadn’t even looked at Eddie, he just kept waiting for you.
And when his big goofy grin was looking to yours, and the others as he got such an uproarious reaction to his joke, Eddie being ignored, your own practice perfect smile reacted too. “Oh not you as well?” You rolled your eyes, thankful it gave you an excuse to blink any wateriness away. “Shit Dustin, I thought at least you’d be on my side?”
“I am.” Dustin nodded, feigning seriousness in a straight pose as he embellished upon his joke. “It’s therapeutic for people to not live in denial after a while.”
You laughed again, giving a small punch to his shoulder as you were half relieved that your serious words came in a light enough tone that no one could decipher them. The other part of you begged them to realise this was too much. That they were hurting you. But you knew you couldn’t handle that. If you started acting like a baby, acting out against their words like a brat who couldn’t take it, they’d all just pause and stare at you, even Eddie. None of them would know what to say and you’d have ruined everything by making it awkward. The ugliest animal thing earlier showed they were all joking as friends, but you couldn’t apparently take a joke. They were all good kids, and your friends. They couldn’t help your uncomfortable truth.
“Has it happened yet in that case?” Mike faux whispered to the other younger boys, slinking away a little with a giggle as Eddie stepped closer, chin out and teeth gritted in frustration.
You couldn’t see that though from your vantage point at the other side of the end of the table. You managed a chuckle at Mike’s add on, it was smaller than your laughs before. You didn’t really know how to react now that Eddie was sticking up for you the way he was, but even that small laugh was enough to bring Eddie physically back to you.
“Y/n you don’t have to laugh,” Eddie told you, eyes twitching downwards in sadness. Why weren’t you discouraging them? “Guys, shut the fuck up already.” He told them off, stepping closer to your side whilst he glared at them.
You felt something in your jaw twitch, a muscle or something, and you hoped Eddie didn’t hear the sound your throat made in response. You leant closer to his warmth, not touching him yet as his slightly widening nostrils made his breathing audible to you, but your jacket material brushed agaisnt his own. “It’s fine Eddie, don’t w-“
“No it’s not y/n.” Eddie quickly interrupted you, looking down at you with a softer glance, even though he’d snapped his disapproving look from the boys in under a second. He still looked disappointed at you though. Although you weren’t sure if he’d had time to control that look aimed at them, or if it was your fault.
You were stunned into silence. You almost felt ashamed, bowing your head as you looked at Eddie’s feet, noticing them shuffling nearer to you. He didn’t solidly touch you yet, but his arm and left side was slightly behind you now, closer like this. You didn’t think the guys were making that much of a big deal, especially since in this case, part of you knew they were truly joking. But the words they spoke still came out. You weren’t expecting Eddie to really defend you, not when you didn’t even try and defend yourself anymore, not even subconsciously. It felt... warm, that he did though.
In the tiniest of movements, you leant your back into his torso.
Your back only grazed against his cotton shirt, but it still felt better than before. Better than most things.
“C’mon, it’s not like she’s gonna start sprouting white feathers any time soon!” Mike retaliated against Eddie in a brave offence.
Your instinct is almost to laugh again. But Eddie’s was to drop his hands onto your shoulders, and that touch completely whirlwinded your thoughts, as well as snapping you out of that learnt behaviour. Things were different when Eddie was behind you. After a few seconds of them still laughing, Eddie began gently rubbing your shoulders. You didn’t think this was because they were still laughing at you. Eddie just naturally fell into it. It felt too good as he rubbed his hands quickly up and down the top of them, the friction buzzing beneath your skin in a way that made you feel heated in your face and chest, not in a way that made you want to itch your skin off, for how disgusting your body felt it was. Eddie was now fully behind you, but his head still leant over yours as he spoke. You felt shrouded by him, including, from your own umbrella of thoughts. “Don’t pay any attention to those shitheads y/n.” He commanded you.
You meant to nod. Really. You meant to show Eddie that you were strong. You were good and could do what he asked. But instead, with the soft weight of Eddie’s palms rolling against your skin, your body gave off more of a defeated shrug. Maybe that’s what your mind intended your body to show anyway. Even with Eddie’s support. Something you didn’t know you needed quite this much, even if you were having somewhat of a hard time properly accepting it.
That seemed to do it for Eddie. He peered down at you, leaning more to the side. You had to look away after a certain point, when his eyes grew scared, it was like he could see right into you. His voice was stable as he moved in front of you, hands still clapsed to your shoulders, and eyes full with hurt. “Stop that y/n, you’re beautiful.”
Loud enough that the club members could hear. Which was in Eddie’s plan. He just wasn’t thinking super far ahead, his chest squeezing for a second too hard, when after a small obvious pause the guys all called out in unison. “Ooooooh!”
They all started teasing him. At a similar level they were doing so to you. And you didn’t miss the sudden panic that hit Eddie’s eyes, especially as his hands dropped from your body, twiddling his own rings instead. “Well you know not beautiful I didn’t mean it like that I just m-me-meant...”
You guessed it wasn’t worth defending you at this point. Now more than ever you had to keep in control of your face, with Eddie looking at you still stumbling over his own words. His confidence quickly fading.
And while it hurt hearing him call you that initially, ’beautiful’, even though you knew something was wrong with you that that did hurt, it hurt even more when he said you weren’t.
And you knew that was stupid. That wasn’t what he meant, he just didn’t want you to think he was hitting on you inappropriately or anything (or at all). He didn’t want the guys teasing you about him having a crush. Especially when he almost definitely didn’t, so Eddie would’ve found it annoying you were sure. That bad part of your brain still took what it could grab at though. Eddie did not mean to say you were beautiful, he didn’t think that was true at all.
Probably only said it to shut up your blabbering for a second. You were that pathetic, just bringing the vibe down for everyone, so much Eddie had to lie. Good job he quickly redacted it you guessed. At least he still had his values there.
Wallowing in your own self-misery, something Eddie was very clealry not missing, he was shook out of his concern for you by Gareth sticking his tongue out at him. “C’mon Eddie, you’re never this nice to us.”
Eddie rolled his eyes back with a dramatic grunt to him. “Yeah well that’s because I actually like y/n! Y/n is actually nice.” He turned back to you, still concerned that you weren’t looking at anyone’s face, not even his as he tried to grab your attention. Only his kept being stolen back by those little pricks.
“Is it because y/n’s the only girl in the group?” Lucas asked, getting a “Yeah Eddie. Is it?” From Dustin as back up.
Eddie grit his teeth, shaking his head in frustration. Talk to you, get them to back off, get you to look at him, talk to his group. “No-“
“Well it has to be something.” Jeff suggests, earning a snicker from Gareth.
“Look, you’re all assholes.” Eddie chides. Not in a super serious way, but letting them know he was getting tired of dealing with their bull. He was trying to shut them down, at least get them to talk amongst themselves so he could have you. But as soon as his head snapped back to you, everyone’s went to Gareth, as his digital watch started to beep.
Eddie’s heart sunk, and yours fluttered in relief mixed with discomfort. Time to leave.
Everyone started packing up. Eddie quickly shoving all his things into his bag because leaving them there was a death wish for any figurines or other creations, but he didn’t want to get caught behind by everyone else’s cleaning up.
Dustin hit your arm lightly only to snicker at you when you looked up. You laughed along with the joke. Your head was red because you were bending at an angle under the table to quickly pack your bag. No other reason.
At least with the growing members, no one would notice if you didn’t talk to anyone on the short way out of school. You hoped.
All of you flooded out the theatre rooms door, the club chattering amongst themselves down the empty hallway as you tried to keep your head buried even further now, in less dim light. Although the sudden change of leaving had given you a small spark of rejuvenation, that you were riding out so as not to cry. Eddie was sticking close by you, not talking to the others either, but apart from your mouth breathing you were doing, which you had to keep up to stop from fully cracking, you tried to act normal.
And considering both of you were surrounded by the group walking to the exit doors, Eddie didn’t try and talk to you until you all dispersed there. Even though you were the only thing he looked at the entire walk.
Exiting into the Indiana sun, that was definitely about to start setting with how late the session had gone, the rest of the members started going to their methods of transportation, the parking lot pretty silent as most clubs finished at a reasonable and precise time. Unlike Hellfire.
The kids had their bikes to haul back today, and Gareth’s mom was picking him and Jeff up, so it meant Eddie had a free seat. Not that he wouldn’t be driving you, or anyone, in the back of his van anyways. “Hey, do you need a ride home?” Eddie offered, trying to act causal like he could tell you wanted, but the inside of his mind buzzing with ’Please say yes, please ride with me so we can talk.’
But you quickly shut that down, panic evident on your face, which Eddie hated to see, as you quickly spoke out “My mom’s picking me up.” Too quickly for normal.
Eddie opened his mouth again, just letting it take over what he was next to say without his mind’s involvement, a bit like you clearly were, but as he did, you both spot about the only car rolling outside.
Heart dropping disappointed, Eddie put on a small smile as he waved to your mom through her window, just as you started to run over, not even saying bye to Eddie. Not even hugging him goodbye... which he looked forward to every single day. You hugging him hello and goodbye were the only hugs, the only true physical affection, Eddie really ever got. And he didn’t get it today.
But all he could do was keep waving, not able to see if anyone was waving back thanks to the sun’s reflection on the car window, as he was forced to watch you driving away...
You hated that you had school the next day. You almost wanted to take the day off, you had the very real stomach ache as an excuse. Plus the fatigue from staying up until 2am - it was hard to sleep when all you could do was cry. Scared about what Eddie was thinking right now, knowing he’d be up. How all your friends see you. Would they see you any differently today?
But there came the cost of not showing up, and them possibly figuring out you were hurt by yesterday. Then you holding in your crying the afternoon before was pointless, because they’d all know you’re a baby who makes her friends feel bad. God you hated how anxiety made every decision feel like a crappy one.
But you decided to go to school, prove to yourself that you were brave and not stupid. Even if you still secretly planned to avoid Hellfire as much as possible. Wherever physically, and in places like shared classes with Eddie (in which being the only two to share desks previously always seemed like a blessing), and lunch with all of them, you’d just have to practice avoidance by being quieter.
Unfortunately, none of this was on the table for you.
You got out your moms car and started to walk up to the school doors, busting through the ones closest to your lockers like you did every day, only for your heart to freeze and constrict in your chest, at seeing a pained looking Eddie leaning against your locker.
He was looking every which way, peering over most students heads. And you quickly made the decision to let autopilot run free on your body so you could continue your usual walk up, before Eddie could see you just stood stiff staring at him. Not weird at all. You trudged on.
Eddie’s face lit up when he saw you, but not in the usual happy way. It was more of a relieved look this time. He waved you over though, his curled hand raised above people but not shouting for your attention, which was a bit lower profile for the metal head than usual. You managed a small smile, taking a breath you knew you’d need, as Eddie managed to give a smile that looked all to much like your own as you swanned closer. “Hey princess.” He breathed out, calmer than he looked before.
As much as that nickname made your heart beat faster, you were distracted by the fading smell of smoke on him, and a small frown twisted onto your features, as Eddie only usually smoked right before classes when he was stressed, and needed a cigarette. Oh no, you hoped he was okay.
Eddie pretty much blocked you off from the rest of the school goers, and the world, as you got to your locker. Scooting over because he was literally leaning on yours, his hand moving to rest one to the left, but his entire body leant behind you, a breath as relieved as his smile leaving his lips as he could finally look over you. “I’m so glad you’re in today.”
Your face burned, heart swelling and tingly.
“I mean, I was worried you weren’t gonna show. I was totally gonna ditch and steal your neighbours ladder to check up on you though, if you didn’t.”
You heart was palpitating now, your lips opening into a small fish like shape as you blinked furiously, charmed. Eddie would’ve climbed through your window to check up on you if you’d missed school? How long was he worrying about you? How long had he planned that?
The gesture was so sweet, too sweet to you, electricity stormed through your stomach and your legs, not sure whether to smile or bury everything down deeper because you knew negative feelings were still being held back by a very thin damn. You turned to your locker, keeping a side eye on Eddie as you spoke, organising your books. “I’m fine. I promise. Why wouldn’t I be Eddie?”
It didn’t sound like you were faking. But that’s because it didn’t come out sounding causal at all. Like you weren’t even trying to be convincing. It sounded like you truly didn’t mean any of that and the both of you knew it too well.
’Maybe he just wanted to skip school’ floated briefly through your mind.
Eddie clicked his tongue, unseen to you, running his sweaty palms against the skin and denim of his ripped black jeans. “Well, after yesterday, you seemed a bit upset. Which was fair. I know they were just messing around because you’re their friend, but the guys were being total assholes and losers.”
Fair? Eddie thought you were okay being upset? You knew it was true, realistically. Of course you were allowed to feel upset. But it just felt so... comforting, to have Eddie confirm that for you in his own way, without any prior prodding. It was just a genuine declaration of how he felt.
“O-Oh.”
That wasn’t being hidden from Eddie. The crowd of pupils and teachers was thinning, but Eddie still drew closer, a shield against all those people, the noise of outside the two of you. People could be mean to you guys, mostly him, and he hated the fact people were only mean to you because you were friends with him, so he just wanted a break from that so he could focus on you right now. His face furrowed, already fallen like before he’d even seen you, lips twisting every which way and being bitten on the inside.
“W- uhh, thank you. That’s really nice of you... But yeah, um, I’m fine. No need to worry, honest!”
“Are you being honest though?”
Eddie leant closer and his breath on the nape of your neck drew a loud shudder of a gasp. You turned around quickly, only to be even more intimated at his determined look, now you two were front to front. Your back closed your locker for you, bag dead by your shoes.
“Uhhhh I-“
Eddie put his thumb to your lips, his hand following after and oh so gently cupping your chin. You couldn’t even breathe at this point, too scared to, and Eddie had this geuinine look in his eyes, emotions full in the dark brown, that you didn’t know what to do with. “Y/n please talk to me. You’re my best friend, right? I know you were lying yesterday when you laughed with the guys and I don’t think...” Eddie struggled when he didn’t let his heart run with the words, tongue flicking against his lips as it usually did, while his thumb still graced yours. “I don’t think they were playing along with me.”
In Eddie’s head it made sense. But it had yet to be translated to you. Instead, it was taken as wrong. “Oh? And what game were you playing?” You spoke, lightly unable to avoid brushing against his warm finger.
“No I’m not playing a game I just mean...” Eddie sighed, his brown puppy eyes so sad, as they held yours. Everyone had gone to class now, no one bothering to remind you two of the last bell. “I mean the guys and I... no fuck, hold on.” Eddie inhaled through his teeth, his hand finally leaving your face, which at least allowed you to breathe, but made you feel solemn and hollow at the same time.
Eddie was level with you. Looking like the normal boy you knew he was, who could feel unsure, and scared, and nervous. His ringed hands wrung together, swearing to himself as he tried to hold your eyes in his, desperate for you to stay right now. “I think- I mean I know, I see you differently than them...”
Eddie’s hand braced his chest as he said that, staying splayed there over his white Hellfire shirt. Meanwhile you were overlooking your flustered crush, rolling your shoulders as you exhaled unsurely through your nose. It made you nervous having a one on one conversation with Eddie that was so serious. No distractions. And seeing him so flustered and open was a vulnerable side you’d seen before, but not when you both felt this exposed, with something you were so hesitant to say. You bit your lip, only realising for a split second after that Eddie’s thumb had been on there, but you pushed that thought aside for later as you watched his tongue almost reaching the top of his nose again, sticking out like that nervously. About as on the spot as you felt.
“So... you see me as a swan and they see me as the ugly duckling?” You asked unsure, flinching back and feeling bad when Eddie winced harshly at your words. Shaking his head vigorously. Voice cracking a little through the first few words.
“No! Fuck no, that’s not. That’s not even true what they said y/n! They were just trying to find a joke and they locked onto it, they don’t think anyone looks like what they said, Jesus H Christ none of us look like animals. Least of all you y/n!”
You blinked away the last sentence, pinning it again for later, like your brain couldn’t be split between conflicting emotions, but unfortunately was picking the negative ones to experience now. The negative ones to experience with Eddie, and the positive ones for when you were alone. Christ couldn’t you be positive and happy when you were around people you loved instead today? “Look I’m not mad at them okay Eddie?” You spoke up. “I don’t want you to feel like you have to yell at them or something for me. I mean I really appreciate what you did for me yesterday, it made me feel nice but-“
“What? I’m not mad. Y/n-“ Eddie strode close and took your hands softly in his, flipping them over and grazing them in his own calloused touch, holding them warmly. “I’m not even trying to talk about them right now. They were being little dicks yesterday but they were just messing around. You know I know you’re beautiful don’t you? I mean, I do have eyes.” He chuckled softly only on that last sentence. The first and only time he hadn’t seemed serious apart from when he finally saw you. Almost like you relaxed him, made him feel good, better.
But now your brain was pushing away the positivity, that was becoming more in volume than the negativity, on purpose. Because it stuck onto one part that it could warp, and stab into you like a knife.
“Look Eddie I really appreciate you, and you know I love you.” You squeezed his hands softly, and Eddie looked like he was melting at your touch. His cheeks seemed softer, slightly pinker as they raised in an honest to god smile, medium sized, but perfect to the situation. And you both took a step closer to the other, not knowing each other would do the same. Still a parting, but wrists resting on your own stomachs. “But you don’t have to say that, I know yesterday you got kinda screwed over and tried to take it back and it’s fine. I don’t want you to feel bad or-“
“Y/n stop!!” Eddie snapped, shocking you a little as you jumped. Eddie held your hands closer in apology, pulling your wrists so near your hands were in his stomach now. “I mean Jesus Christ! Y/n. You are beautiful. I meant it yesterday and I mean it now. And I’ve always known it. Maybe I should’ve said it more but...” Eddie used one conjoined hand to shift back his curls in his face, huffing out quickly. You could feel how hot his poor forehead was becoming as he moved so.
“You are beautiful. You’re gorgeous.” His brown eyes looked deeply into yours, open, and face contorted in a mixture of confusion, but being pure, and fully unendingly loving, as he held you close. Hands smoothing down your shoulders, shaking as they tried to keep you from running, tried to soothe you into his words. Like a charm roll a bard would throw for a restless dragon.
“You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever been graced enough to lay my fucking eyes on.” His tongue darted out, eyes blinking sheepishly as he kept looking right at you. “Why don’t you see that, all the time?” Pain and confusion. That’s what was in his voice. Love and fear mixed into all his touches, hands smoothing over your back and shoulder blades in his need to fidget and be touching you, someone he always wanted to never not be touching, ever since the moment you first lit up when talking to him. That’s the only thing he ever saw when he looked at you, and he just couldn’t fathom a world where you somehow didn’t see the exact same thing, staring blatantly obviously back.
“Because I’m not!” You wriggled harshly out of his grip, the genuine hurt in Eddie’s eyes, only fuelling the burst of passion you were having. “I’m not anything! I’m not anything good, Eddie!” You were yelling, no one had seen you yell before, least of all Eddie. And Eddie teetered on nervous feet, worried about reaching out for you, but scared of what you’d do if he didn’t ground you.
Your breath felt ragged, head pounding. “I look at myself, I think about myself, and all I can feel, is how ugly, and disgusting I am.”
Pure and simple shock was spread across Eddie’s features. The kind of disappointed shock where he couldn’t understand how, or why you’d ever felt this way. Eddie was heartbroken.
“Whenever I remember this body I’m in, I want to cry because I feel like nothing good is deserved for someone as fucked up as this. I feel sick in my own skin. Every cell of me feels wrong, and that’s how I live. Terrified that someone’s going to look at me, someone who’s seen me a thousand times, and suddenly see this me that’s just a monster when you look again.” Your hand was to your heart, and you were crying now. Tears itching that disgusting skin people should wash their hands after touching. God you felt awful getting it out there, this was bullshit.
Anger was about to start seeping into Eddie too, just a little, grief and heartbreak was overtaking him right now. “Is this to do with what the guys said?”
You were hyperventilating now. Very aware of breaking down in front of your crush, and unable to breathe because you were crying so hard. Terror striking you from speaking the truth, because your best friend would see you that way now. Upon his words, a gasp bubbles through the saliva in your throat, but before you could answer Eddie finshed.
“I’m going to knock their teeth in.” Eddie felt hot tears in his eyes. He’d let you go home thinking about this. You were hurting. “I don’t care that they’re stupid, I’m going to tell them all that-“
“No!” You finally got close to Eddie again, your hands the only strong part of either of you as you lightly gripped his forearm. “No it’s not their fault.” You knew Eddie would only drag them somewhere and knock their heads together, but you didn’t want him guilting your friends, you didn’t want them hurt. You didn’t want them to know either. “It’s not them. I’ve always felt like this.”
Eddie felt lost. Eddie was crushed. His whole face collapsing to show it. His tears dripped onto his shirt, defeated by them. The white staining in the hollow hallway as he just looked at you, about as broken as you feel. ”But why?”
Eddie was genuinely confused. And it made your heart skip. To the point it felt so good, it was painful.
This whole conversation was painful. Your head dropped as your tears slunk to the floor, Eddie gripping your wrists in return, before pulling you warmly into a hug. Eddie’s embrace so tight, so scared to break you but needing you to stay, safe, with him, so you wouldn’t. Eddie would never let you break. He promised to himself now to always pick up your pieces before you could fully fall apart. Eddie would never let that happen, not on his watch. Not when you were under his oath. He sniffed, licking up his tears as he nuzzled his cheek into your head. Dreaded mumbles falling from his lips with small cries. Even his hips pressed to yours, his feet entangling thoughtfully, so you couldn’t fall, or retreat, just hugging you.
“I just. I don’t know.” You sobbed once. “I’m sorry.”
“Ssh. Don’t you dare apologise.” Eddie stroked the wetness away from your head, into his hand. “I’ll kick your ass.” He kisses your head instead, heart delighting, but not enough to give a smile, as you laughed at that. Hearing your small purr of a giggle was enough to tell himself to keep going, that he was doing an alright job.
“Sorry.”
Eddie pressed a hard kiss into your temple, growling lightly at you. Clearly still teasing you though. For once you didn’t have a single fear Eddie was mad at you. You could just breathe out laughs, even as you were crying. “I don’t know. Don’t you see that? See that... see an ugly duckling, in me?” You asked genuinely. For once your brain didn’t give you a million versions of the future, you just felt blank as you waited for his answer. It was peaceful.
As Eddie thought, he grazed against your head. Lips nibbling your skin, and your hair caught there, laughing lightly back when he felt another round of your chuckles, vibrating through his own chest, his warm hand smoothing down your back. He loved that feeling. He always wanted to make you laugh, but now he resolved to do so as he had your chest pressed against him, all the time. “I’ve... since the first moment I saw you, I’ve always thought you were jaw-droppingly stunning.” He revealed.
You felt conflicted, your heart pulled, brain just... not able to picture him seeing you like that. But you knew he wasn’t finished, and he held you impossibly closer, always being able to tell what you were feeling, even if it could be irritatingly accurate.
“But... the more I fell in love with you, the more and more I just kept seeing you as someone so perfect, it felt like the sun lit up her hair through every window on purpose. To shine down on her specifically. That the weather was made that day, so she could wear an outfit that made your legs, and stomach, and arms, and hands, look so desirable to hold. Someone who’s smile literally made the people around her smile for the rest of their entire day, and how that kinda magic could only be possible from you. That every day I’d see a different person spin around and do a double take at you with that look on their face, that look because they know they’ve just walked past the most beautiful girl in the entire world, and they’ll never get that chance again to brush past your shoulder, and meet-cute you, ever. And that I’m the luckiest man on this earth, because somehow, through your own kindness, and through the wind and the sun and our peers and the earth beneath our feet and stardust that made everything, I was lucky enough to be someone, who gets to see someone so beautiful, every single day.”
Eddie breathed out. His brown eyes warm in yours. His touch craving. His body glowing after all that.
And there were no words. A white sheet in your mind and a white glow over your body. You only knew you felt light, you felt... right. And your heart was full. And the thing that kept circling over and over in your mind, finally spoke out.
“You love me?”
Eddie’s breath collapsed in his laugh. Full and hearty, and the tears in his eyes were now spilt because of how they crinkled, smile spreading to his cheeks and his warm palms cupped your own cheeks, like he was so grateful to be able to hold you safe like this, like he was so happy to have your face beating in his hands. “Of course I do. I love you y/n. I’m madly in love with you! I love you so much it’s consumed every part of me and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I love you more than fucking anything! I love you more than anything y/n!”
“I love you too!” The air tasted different when you gasped, Eddie’s heart swelling was something you could see throughout his entire body, as his chest rose and his feet curled, and his eyes warmed, and his lips opened in such a smile. You took Eddie’s face in your own hands and everything fit together perfectly. He was so warm, so full of life, so Eddie, and so full of love for you. Eddie was the love of your life, and you could hold his tear ridden smile in your hands.
Eddie leant in close, using his hands to pull you further as his open lips spread, and your eyes fluttered stickily shut as you just smiled leaning in. Finally having his full, wet lips slotting against yours, and feeling each other’s smiles into the kiss, as you felt him kiss you like it was the best memory he’d ever make.
He pulled you in closer, almost tripping over your own feet as his hands on your cheek coerced you, but only one foot slipping, as you kissed him deeper. Lovingly moulding his lower lip that wanted to live in your mouth, and feeling his thick upper one kiss you back with so much deep adoration. Affection and love oozing out of Eddie as he kissed you happily. Sweet sounds coming from the both of you as your hands curled in his dark hair by his ears, and his cradled your nape and your lower back. Cheeks brushing and noses nuzzling, as you sweetly tasted each other, kissing like it was the only thing that was right in this world.
Finally, after stopping a little, and feeling Eddie’s nose nuzzle and brush at you in return, you pulled back. Eddie having literally stolen your breath away. You both backed up just an inch, just enough to see each other, and you were both beaming smiles through the warm sun rays. Eddie leant in to kiss you again, this time a small peck that you reciprocated, both his lips sweetly pressing against yours, and you could just tell they were Eddie Munson’s lips.
A noise of deep happiness and satisfaction finally broke the air and Eddie couldn’t help but nose at your cheek playfully again. “That was even better than I imagined.” He fondly grinned.
You tilted your head, wrapping both your arms around Eddie’s neck, as you felt a different energy, making a home in your new home. “You imagined kissing me before?”
Eddie went momentarily bright red. Before he remembered it was you he was with, and it was okay to be this vulnerable because you loved him too. “‘F course!” He sang. “Although minus the crying.”
You burst into laughter, Eddie following along as you rubbed at your drying tears, stomach fluttering as Eddie’s calloused fingers went to softly swipe at your cheekbones instead, the warm metal of his rings from how clammy his hands were, actually feeling nice as he brushed them away, “Pretty princess...” Getting at his own tears with his sleeve before you could return the favour. “Yeah.” He took both your cheeks in his hands again, before he leaned in to kiss you once more. Then your two red cheeks, and he leaned back and smiled, then both your eyes, still smiling, as he just had to look at you again “Can’t have my gorgeous girl crying. Never.”
Somehow, that didn’t start it again. Your lip wobbled but no tears came, only as Eddie kissed your nose fondly, was your movement to hold his face back, squeezing those adorable cheeks as you kissed all over his face. Every single inch got covered in your loving kisses, and feeling Eddie’s excited giggles fanning so close on your skin just made you kiss his lips over, and over, and over, and Eddie kiss yours, over, and over again. Your “I love you Eddie”’s being caught in between each and every kiss. Only stopping when Eddie pulled back to look at you, so happy in his hand, so he could smile at the sight of you. “My beautiful y/n.”
You two both skipped school that day eventually anyways. Only this time, as you walked hand in loveable hand down the empty hallways, not looking at each other only and purely because you were too busy kissing to have your eyes open, you were leaving to spend your first moments together as a couple.
