Zuko Never Existed: Conspiracy Theory

Over the past couple of days there has been discourse about the origin of zuko’s scar, people have tried to convince me that Zuko’s father gave him the scar. I disagree. 

HOWEVER

i have a theory

I don’t think Zuko was the one who was scarred in the Agni Kai because the facts don’t add up, it’s stated that the “Fire Lord gave Zuko the scar” this is a direct contradiction to the previous canon

You might say “the Fire Lord and Zuko’s father are the SAME person” because after all, Zuko is the Crowned Prince of the Fire Nation. But how do we know the Zuko we see in the show is the same Zuko in flashbacks? Young Zuko and current Zuko have similarities but their face shape, chin shape, eye shape, and eyebrow shape are different. I’ll take it one step further…

My theory is that the Agni Kai NEVER HAPPENED. Furthermore, Prince Zuko NEVER EXISTED. The idea that Ozai had a first born son named Zuko was all a fabrication set up by the royal family and told only to trusted allies. Azula was actually the first born child and according to royal lineage, the first born is first in line to become the next Fire Lord, however, prior to Azula’s birth, the first born had always been a boy. 

Unbeknown to how the public will react, when they announce the birth of Azula, they casually slide in that “fact” that she is the second born child. At first the public is confused as they have never heard of Zuko’s existence prior but they just go with it, however the public never truly accepts him.

Proof supporting my claim: Azula was named after Azulon, the acting Fire Lord at the time of her birth. Zuko however, was named after nobody and in chinese Zuko means “failure”. Like why would they do that unless it was because of this. 

Anyways, an entire conspiracy was planned and for years the royal family was aware that the Agni Kai between Zuko and Ozai would occur. Only it wouldn’t, people would just say it did and pass it on as fact. Commoners were not present at the time to witness the duel and would have to assume its legitimacy. 

However the endgame was for the public to adore Azula. Stories about how she’s so much smarter and more talented than Zuko would leave the capital and over time society began to feel disdain for Zuko and a push for Azula to become the next Fire Lord built. When the time was right, the Agni Kai occurred, complete hatred over Zuko ensued and Azula finally won over the entire Fire Nation.  

The royal family found a Fire Nation boy who matched descriptions with “Zuko” and brain washed him, similar to the way the Dai Li do. But of course, Zuko is not of Royal Family blood, which is why unlike Ozai, Iroh and Azula, he cannot lightning bend. His scar is really just a really pigmented temporary tattoo, in the shot below we can see it being applied to his face. 

Further proof: Zuko’s moral compass is all wack because he’s literally been brainwashed to be his worst self so that the public hear’s about how awful he is, but in his heart he is good inside. That’s why he fainted that time and was out for like a week after he did one (1) good thing, because his brain had to rewire itself to be bad again :( that’s why he sided with Azula in the CoD. 

Everything that happened in season 3 was just a consequence of the Royal Family not keeping track of Zuko after he became a fugitive a season earlier and was not planned.
