EdinFur May Meet - 4th May 2024

The Edinfurs meet returns!

As the tourists come back to the city and the streets become busy once more, our little group of Furries is gathering again in our venue to celebrate our furriness.

Join us on the auspicious day of Star Wars, for a social gathering with only the bestest of boys, girls and anything in between for the Edinfurs meet.

EdinFurs April Meet - 6th April 2024

Hello and good morning!

So... last month the meet got absolutely CRAZY big. We had over 50 people showing up, and it was awesome to see so many people get together (as stressful as it was to try and keep track X3). So this month, we're going to see if this was just a one-off or whether we're going to keep this going!

Last month the meet coincided with Scotiacon, which meant that we had a few fewer people than usual. But that also means that this time we'll be having a lot of people who still have the craving for furry attention after the con! Hear me one and all, for Edinfurs meets are continuing in March!

Oh wow! I'm getting it in early this time?!? Yes! But there's also a reason for it. Due to the closeness to Hogmanay, it was better to organise it for a slightly later date. As such, the meet was moved a week later, to the second Saturday of the month.

EdinFurs August BBQ Meet - 5th 12th August 2023

Welp... The weather hasn't been kind to our plans, because guess what: MORE RAIN IS FORECAST FOR SATURDAY! Even though the rest of the week has so far been really nice!

In case people wonder; I don't base this on just a single forecast, I use 5 different services which all seem to be in agreement once more: Our plans for a BBQ will fall on a rainy day.

It is thus that I have to announce that the BBQ will once more be postponed; though this time to an unknown date (meaning it's going to be an extra for next month most likely)

However, this cloud has a silver lining. I've been in touch with our normal hangout, and while our BBQ might not continue, the meet will not be called off! Instead we will be back at upper floor of The Outhouse bar, 12A Broughton Street Lane, EH1 3LY.

EdinFurs August BBQ Meet - 5th 12th August 2023

-Edit- Due to the bad weather on Saturday 5th, we have had to postpone the BBQ until the 12th and hope for better weather then.

Hello and good afternoon all!

The time has come where I start giving people more details about the Edinfurs August meat! And yes, that typo is intentional as this meet will be a BBQ event. I will be coming in a little early with all the gear to set stuff up, so that by the time people will be coming around, the basic set-up should be easy to find. There is going to be one thing though that I really must stress:

BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND DRINKS

This isn't a pub that has a large stock of drinks, this is a picnic where we'll only have what we bring; and I'm not a catering company. I provide the means to cook something, utensils and some condiments and that's about it.

If you're vegan, vegetarian or otherwise have dietary requirements, let the one on the BBQ know so they can set it aside in a designated area to avoid cross-contamination.

The August meet will take place on the 5th of August, between 11:00 and 17:00 at the Meadows in Edinburgh, https://goo.gl/maps/2uAo8cMUSm8kkvwWA or https://w3w.co/ants.jungle.plot The meet is just off from Chalmers hospital, at close walking distance from Edinburgh University. ALL THIS INFORMATION IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER.

For this meet, the rules will be as follows:

1: Due to the nature of the event, and the fact that we'll be in an outdoor space with no changing areas, Fursuits (including partials) will be discouraged but not banned. This is a case where since there is fire and food around, it's generally a bad idea, but if you're responsible I won't stop you.

2: Don't be a jerk, creepy or overly affectionate to people you don't know.

3: NO ALCOHOL! This is from the Edinburgh Council. Since we're out in public, the public rules and laws apply and those mean that you can't drink in public.

It is getting close to Confuzzled (I’m leaving tomorrow… Hype!), which means that we're getting ever closer to the June Edinfurs meet! 1. Please no prominent Tails at the meet, this has to do with potentially knocking things off of the tables. Conbadges, small accessories and ears are fine. Fursuit heads are also out for this month as we don't have a private space this time.

2. Don't be jerk, creepy or overly affectionate to people you don't know.

3. Respect the places we are! Please don't bring your own food and drink, within reason. Please also buy stuff at the places we are in, it helps leave a good impression and means we could come back in the future! (Temporary adjustment as this venue does allow outside food. Still no drink though!)

4. BRING ID! Even if you're not planning to drink.

5. Please drink responsibly and look out for fellow furs.

6. You must be 18 or older to attend this meet. This is in line with the requirements for the telegram group.

EdinFurs May Meet - 6th May

Hello and good afternoon! Hope everyone is having a good day?

It is getting close to the end of April, which means that we're getting ever closer to the May Edinfurs meet! The next Edinfurs meet will be held at our regular hangout, the ground floor of The Outhouse in Edinburgh on the 6th of May. This change is because the upper floor had already been booked when I went to book the place. It went well previously, so hopefully it'll be fine for this month as well!

The Next Edinfurs meet will take place on the 6th of May between 12:00 and 18:00 on the ground floor at The Outhouse bar, 12A Broughton Street Lane, EH1 3LY.

Update to April 1st Meet

Hey everyone! Are you excited for the meet next weekend? Well we've got some more exciting news for you!

Fursuiting! At this weekend's meet up we are now able to facilitate suiting however at this time it is only partials due to not having a space to allow fullsuiting, we are doing our best to find a way to do so but for now we can do partial suiting!

We ask that any suiting is kept upstairs in the space that we have for now and that this is only doable when we have the space upstairs so we won't always be able to do this but this weekend is a good start to see how things go!
