Imo hoarding rentry/fluffle/carrd/etc urls is dumb. Its fine if you have like 2 or 3, but when you just have a bunch of them I just can't see the point in why? Especially when you're not putting them to use.

If you're not gonna use it why gatekeep it? Let someone else have the joy of having that specific url that you're probably not even gonna use.

I kinda don’t like how fast people are to assume bad stuff about others in the editblr community. Like someone will make one tiny mistake, fix it, and apologize but people will continue to hold it over their head like they were intentionally trying to do something “terrible”. But they never apologize themselves for assuming shitty things. It’s just kinda disappointing that people as a community do that stuff to each other

Makes sense, pointing out issues isn’t bad the only problem is when people, you know don’t confront the editor and complain about someone in a targeted way like some… old blog did

Hi editblr folk, I have recently seen the uprise of AI being used for making transparent PNGs of various objects. My fear is that people DON'T recognise these as AI and use it in their edits or consume this content in general, for edits or not.

One such example is user pinglet, a blog that uploads transparent PNGs of objects and generates them using "AI". I highly discourage the harmful use of AI in your edits.

It is promoting replacing your own abilities by making a machine do it AND erase the effort of some other real person, who the AI copies. Please do not use AI. It is not good. Please search for actual PNGs by actual people, so that you can also appreciate their hardwork. I'm sure they would make exactly what you're looking for. And AI can't do that.

It is very disturbing and annoying to see that a really good PNG is generated by AI. But if AI made it once, real people would have made it 1000x more.

genuinely living for ethereabun's clustered editing style with the smashes pngs I just find it sad how little people mention they took inspo or just straight up copy it..

And if che actually said something about it you can just, ask the editors on anon to put credit, it’s better than vague posting. And even so, not saying you did that but don’t gatekeep someone’s style just because you like them /nbr

i just really wanna say this so bad

it just pmos me when people dont read the inbox text and they request stuff when its closed. like its fine if its just 1 or 2 times but if i get like a lot of asks saying "oh can i request ____ _____" and my requests are closed i will not do it. like ever.

mainly (i think) its because of how i do others requests and not theirs, but i only do those "other" requests because im uncluttering all of the requests in my inbox atm. closed = CLOSED!!!!!

The “closed” warning is there for a reason 😭

Today's tutorial will be dedicated to helping editors and non-editors find an original artist! Because crediting them is important ~

First method!

Step one: find your art! Usually Pinterest has a good amount of art you can use, but not everyone credits the artist! (I suggest using Danbooru/safebooru!) How can we find the artist? (The artist for this post is @mosh_mallow on Twitter/X)

Step two: open up Google and press on the camera looking button, this is called "reverse image search" or "google Lens"

Step three: after you've clicked on the Google lens button, you will be able to upload any photo you need. After you've uploaded your photo, you'll be able to scroll down and look for "visual matches".

Step four: search "visual matches", usually you'll see a bunch or reposts from across the web, trusted websites that may be included are: Twitter, Reddit (credit will not always be provided) and Danbooru/safebooru.

For this tutorial I picked Danbooru, click on the icon and it should take you to the reupload, usually for this website the credits are always provided with a link to the original post/artist!

Second method!

If you cannot find the artist or original post, ask someone! Tumblr and discord are good places to ask. But if you can't do that, simply don't use it ~

i NEED to ramble sorry I'm a huge yapper . sorry for this long ass sob story or whatever i guess

I joined editblr wayyy back in,,, 2022 (I fear I feel like I have reached unc status) just for the purpose of making friends && mutuals (but also slightly because I enjoyed editing,,, but it was mostly for making connections honestly) because I saw a lot of editors getting fun asks && super cool editor mutuals literally just for Existing && Making Edits . If anyone is reading this && thinking something like "if you want super cool mutuals like them, then you should interact with them first" I'm Aware but I really really had Horrible Social Anxiety back then (I still do,,, just less severe now. Or it might still be as severe because I had to stare at this ask for like ten minutes before sending it. && At the time of writing this specific sentence, I'm also contemplating whether or not I should send this Because.) && I do interact with the editors i Find cool first ! Just on anon cause. The Anxiety. At that time, the thought of people flocking to me just for me doing a hobby that I enjoy was really appealing to me (Still is !) but,,, literally three years have passed && I've barely made any mutuals, friends, or just generally fun asks ... (⇀‸↼ ") it's a bit disheartenting to me, but i'd like to continue editing on editblr, as even though i initinally joined editblr to form connections, editing has become one of my biggest hobbies now ... ^_^

alsos,,,, i had, three editing blogs, the first one i had around 150 followers, second one (i fear this one doesn't quite count as editblr ... it was more a "rentry help" blog) i don't remember my follower count but i had sosososoooo many notes (ALSO,,, JUST A LITTLE FLEX HEHE ... this blog was actually like one of the like five few blogs who offered rentry graphics && templates at that time,,, !!!), now, my current blog is at around 800 followers. whats very funny && sad to me is actually how the first blog actually gained me the most friends && mutuals .... yah ....

ok thats it I'm embarrased now this is too pathetic buh Bye

i’ve actually had a few edit blogs but every time i start new i change my name / pronouns so no one knows it’s me …. Idk why i’m just paranoid i guess. i feel like it’s easier to edit without the dogma of being the user i was before

i lowkey want to just deactivate and start anew because i established myself with such a time consuming style that editing takes forever :( it makes me so burnout and i want to do nothing but i’d hate to disappoint people with a simpler style. i feel like i’d have to start a whole new blog but I’d feel so guilty about abandoning this one

i really really hate my work. it's to the point that i can't even look at them anymore because i dislike them so much. other people have such beautiful edits and i'm just here posting the same slop again and again. plus it feels like no one likes them either with how little notes and asks i get despite having more than 200 followers. i feel like an attention seeker. i don't like this
