We live in an era where sustainability isn't an option but an imperative. It's the force that drives visionaries and trailblazers to make real, positive change. Just look at Tesla Inc., revolutionizing the automobile industry with sustainable electric vehicles, reducing carbon emissions. Think about The Ocean Cleanup, a venture founded by Boyan Slat, combating ocean pollution by cleaning up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

Now, it's your turn to make a difference. Welcome to the Wayne Enterprises' Green Growth Challenge,' where your entrepreneurial spirit meets sustainability.

Task Description: Participants will be given existing startups known for their sustainability efforts and propose strategies to scale them further. Your task is to develop a sustainability-focused strategy to enhance the startup's impact.

Startup Options:

Impossible Foods: Scaling up plant-based meat substitutes to reduce carbon emissions.

Ecolife Recycling: Expanding electronic waste recycling efforts to reduce e-waste.

Grocery Delivery Service (e.g., Instacart, FreshDirect): Making grocery delivery services more sustainable, reducing waste.

Urban Farming Startup (e.g., AeroFarms): Scaling vertical farming to reduce food miles and water usage.

Renewable Energy Startup (e.g., Sunrun): Expanding residential solar panel installations to promote clean energy.

Deliverables:

1. Presentation (PPT): Create a presentation outlining your sustainability-focused strategy. Include startup background, analysis, proposed strategy, implementation plan, and expected impact.

2. Report: Develop a detailed report expanding on the presentation. Include in-depth analysis, research findings, and a clear execution roadmap for the sustainability strategy.

QSR or Quick service restaurants are booming in India, they offer a faster and standardized experience to the customer, where the food is served “hot and fresh” and rather quickly to the consumers. You are required to create a business plan for creating a new QSR brand in India. Creativity is of the essence here, but don’t forget to be practical.

Deliverables: A PPT containing the following:  Feasibility analysis, executive summary, operational plan, expansion plan, HR plan, Org structure, Financials : capital structure, Initial investment, working capital requirements, Marketing plan: conventional and unconventional.

No Friends in the Industry

If you fly too close to the Sun, you'll burn your wings and fall on your face. That's what has happened here. Seeing Taj hotels prosper so much, it has come under firing from antitrust regulators and protectors of domestic industries in the sector. To not stop the expansion plans midway, The International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IHRA) has stepped in to save the day by negotiating that for every new hotel that Taj would open outside India, they would have to pay $10 million to the association, half of which would go in uplifting the sector's domestic market and looking out for the interests of smaller players. so now you're 10 million dollars short. Oil is well (Phew)

The war in the Arab region is creating hostility in the entire area, severely affecting oil prices, hence all imports of exquisite construction material from other parts of the world would now be 50% costlier due to expensive shipping costs. If I were you, I would be mindful of the materials in use and their costs and the premium I'd have to pay for their "exquisiteness" Hoping to visit the hotel soon, The clock is ticking.....

All money spent during the Auction was exclusively for special rights to build a hotel in that respective city, it doesn’t involve any money paid for acquisition of Land for the hotel. Hence the amount spent for rights during the auction is a direct payment made by the firm to the local governments of these cities. You have to arrange for Land with your remaining purse. However, a rebate of 10% of the amount paid for those special rights can be availed from the local government to cover *construction costs.* Hence plan your finances accordingly. Good Luck 😉

FORMATTING :')

Here are a few tips for all future reports that you submit.

Reports must be submitted on time (applies to both soft copies and hard copies). 

The report soft copy being submitted must be in PDF format always. 

Font size 12 for content must be used. 

Font size 14 for titles and headings must be used. 

Font Times New Roman must be used at all times. 

Any accompanying material not directly related to the report (such as print ads and flyers) must be submitted at the end of the report, under the ‘Annexures’ heading.

The paragraphs must be in Justified alignment. 

A line spacing of 1.5 must be maintained in each report. 

A closed/boxed border must be present on every page of the report. 

We expect a table of contents/Index in your report with correct page numbering and format.

Task at hand:

You are the Executive Management of Taj Hotels, a subsidiary of Indian Hotels company limited. As a part of an extensive international expansion plan, you are entrusted with the task of coming up with a full blown proposal of developing a premium project. The proposal should be intricately detailed from head to toe, along with a presentation.

Each team will begin with a purse of ₹1,000 crores and as far as the location of the project is concerned, all the teams would have to bid for the cities shortlisted for the expansion plan in an auction, the city will be as usual allotted to the highest bidder. Following the auction the team would have to develop the project with the remaining balance out of their purse of ₹1,000 crores. List of the cities up for auction are :

Next Sala Cup Namde?

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is one of the most popular teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team is owned by United Spirits Limited, a Diageo Group company. Under the able leadership of the Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson, and captain Faf du Plessis, RCB made it to the playoffs in 2022; a feat that the team has now achieved for a third consecutive season. The squad consists of a fine blend of proven stars of the international arena and emerging talent like Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Faf Du Plessis, and ex players like Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Shane Watson. However, despite having a star-studded lineup, RCB has never won the IPL title.

Task at hand:

You are outside consultants hired by RCB who are required to revamp and make necessary changes in the club with respect to the club’s attitude towards the game and management as well. Revamping Royal Challengers Bangalore will not be easy, but it is possible. By making the necessary changes in the management, squad, and attitude, RCB can become a force to be reckoned with in the IPL and finally win the title.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTATION!

All presentations/pitches must be accompanied with a Visual Aid (Powerpoint, Pictures, Video, Prezi, etc).

If Powerpoint Presentations (PPTs) are used, THE 7*7 RULE MUST BE FOLLOWED. Each slide must not contain more than 7 points and each phrase should not be of more than 7 words. Using sentences in points is prohibited. Use phrases to convey meaning.

When presenting, a formal, confident delivery is expected. No informal language will be entertained.

Christ University dress code must be strictly adhered to.

It is the participant’s duty to ensure he/she has all the necessary equipment required to present his or her pitch. Ensure your laptops are in working condition, have a charger nearby incase.

Corporate Gladiators?

The Indian government is contemplating the establishment of monopolies in certain sectors, and has therefore summoned the existing companies in those sectors to a high-stakes debate. The stakes are indeed high, as the outcome of this debate will determine which company will remain independent and which will be merged with its competitors.

The company representatives are tasked with presenting their case to the government, arguing why their company should be the one to remain independent. They will need to highlight their company's strengths and cover weaknesses.

As each company will be fighting for its own survival. The company representatives must be quick-witted and persuasive, as they must convince the government that their company is the best choice to lead the sector into the future.

Here are some sectors and industries that could be considered for the scenario described:

1. Telecommunications Industry: Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea.

2. E-commerce Sector: Amazon India, Flipkart, and Snapdeal

3. Automobile Manufacturing: Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra & Mahindra

4. Oil and Gas Industry: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Reliance Industries
