I’m joining to say a few things. I’ve always tended to refer to Zawe’s “flowy” dresses “fa-loom-phy” and “whooshy” and don’t tend to like them. Here’s a dress I think she’d said came closest to her idea of a wedding dress—

Yeah, no, I think she needs to break up with Roksanda. I think the following dress is my idea of “I-do” worthy for my girl—

I think it’s vintage (btw this is my lord high king of all the glowy pictures of them). My all-time favorite Zawe dress is that red Carolina Herrera. That was a banger night. And I like that tight black velvet number I called a revenge dress cuz Tom was off somewhere on location.

I don’t hate that mustard yellow dress, but disagree about why they stopped dancing. Tom stopped because they ran out of dance floor and feared backing Zawe into the dining area. She wasn’t shy (later? earlier?) as she was unabashedly dancing right up front and he was quite proudly recording it.

Then there’s that pic of them leaving the party. Seems to have been a good time.

Let's talk about the loose airy couture Zawe often favors....

Her mom is Ugandan. So too are the many aunts, cousins and amazing women in her life, also part of the African diaspora. So, this tall striking woman (often but not always) favoring big bold colorful flowing pieces, follows. Mind you, it could also just be a thing she loves just because. -But it's both sad and telling IMO, that what could be a moment and opportunity for regular girlies who also like colors and flow and comfort, has instead mostly been a place to safely criticize our girl, here...for wearing "tents". Anyway... Here are some of the best and most unique of Zawe's airy no-waist or drop waist looks... Feel free to add your faves!

It’s now time for a farce of Victorian manners. John (also Jack) Worthing (played by Tom) has been contentedly romancing the delightful Gwendolen Fairfax (Zawe). Even though their affections seem in sync enough for marriage, Gwendolen stands ten toes down on her rule of only truly loving any man whose name is Earnest. Unfortunately for John (also Jack who is played by Tom), the desired name happens to belong to his nonexistent younger brother.

What the hey nonny, nonny! It almost seems like the same production. Note the similar leather vests. Easy to picture Zawe’s Bianca confronting Tom’s Cassio.

Maybe years later those dorks re-enacted the scene from memory. Also, who’s to say they hadn’t watched each other on stage over the years?

She has ambitions to become a lifestyle/wellness guru, sharing her global, Body Shop concept of sexual fulfillment, which she wants to express in book form. Buttoned-down Tom, a social-science professor who’s rising academically, is struggling to finish his third book. He’s been urged to air out his text on ancient to contemporary sexual practices a bit to make it less clinical and academic. Zawe’s been urged to ground her work in more conventional wisdom. Their publisher gets the notion to pair the two in the hopes of putting a new spin on the other’s perspective. Tentative at first, Zawe and Tom find new approaches to defining pleasure.
