Graduation day 1 and day 2
Although these are separate episodes, they more-or-less have the same theme. The most memorable and the best thing i could hope for is that Buffy graduates in every aspect in her life. Not only does she walk across the stage to receive a high school diploma, she quits the Council when she tells them that she’s graduating from their methods and onto better ones. The Watchers Council is a sacred organization that aid slayers in their killings and hunts. Some might call it rash and stupid of her, but I respect the courage it took from Buffy to decide for her own future and invest in own her methods to battle the dead. The yearbook quotes a saying, “The future is ours!” and I can only imagine that this was said by the Scooby Gang moments after defeating the mayor. Another graduating moment was when Buffy spared Faith in the hospital while she laying unconscious. She showed mercy for a bad but vulnerable person despite her constant exposure to evil individuals. I only hope that the evil Bella is exposed to has little to none affect on her like it does on Buffy’s character. I sought to make this season of Buffy something that could explain a teenage’s girl mindset to me, but i discovered something more valuable. It is that we cannot always prepare for the worse, but it is the love and support of our relationships that get us through it. I realized that it’s okay to be happy with Bella now. We are free.

The Prom
This is my hope for Bella one day. That she lives and experiences things in the human world such as prom. Although her love for me is my reason for existing, i can never stop the thought that she would be better off without me. For the night, Buffy is surrounded by other humans who support and encourage her. But just like Bella, Buffy is stubborn when she is pushed into her human world by Angel. She yells at him and says, “Who are you to tell me what is good for me?” I couldn’t answer when Bella asked me this question so as the selfish creature i am, i stayed with her.

Enemies
I am Angel and Angel is Angelus.
In this episode, Angel pretends to become Angelus when the mayor and Faith seek to take away his soul. With ease, Angel becomes Angelus without actually having turned evil again and it raises my suspicious about him. Does Angelus (the evil side of Angel) live somewhere in Angel or has he always been a part of Angel? I’d liked to believe that the monster i once was is dead and buried away. Yet, the thought of something triggering the monster with ease makes me question whether Bella or Buffy will ever be safe with a monster like us. We can never truly forget what we are, vampires.

Consequences
In this episode, the aftermath of the assistant’s death is unfolded; however, i’d like to discuss the girls wardrobe and what it says/predicts about them. In the photo is Giles (the girls watcher), Faith, and Buffy. By Giles body language and seeing Faith emerge from his office, I know that Faith just threw Buffy under the bus about the assistant’s death. In this scene, Buffy is wearing pink while Faith is wearing all black. This almost reminds me of two sisters who are the exact opposite and the father who is juggling between methods on how to raise them equally, but at the same time differently to match their styles. For example, a method that might work in training Buffy might not be beneficial for Faith in slaying vampires. This dynamic is the beginning of Giles journey with raising two slayers.

Lovers Walk
Ah, just what I want to see. A love that makes sense. Fire with fire, destruction and chaos dancing in circle with one another. Our love never made sense and I knew this was the reason why bad things will always come between us being together. The thing that works to keep Bella and I apart is the same thing working against the “relationships” we see in Buffy. It is pure light trying its absolute best to stay out of the darkness. Buffy represents this pure light and I realize now what gives someone light is being human.

Revelations
This scene in the episode can speak volumes to those who have ever felt a hopeless love. I understand Angel and Buffy’s relationship as well as I understand my own with Bella. It is not logical for them to be together in every sense. He is a vampire and she is human. He is dangerous to others, while she is their protector. But the love between them is real. I know because i have felt it; however, i have to wonder if it’s because of the monster inside me wanting to corrupt innocence or is it because she makes me want to become more than what i see in the mirror.

Faith, Hope, & Trick
This episode got me into a rage that before writing this, I ripped my sister’s new 65 inch plasma TV in half. Alice is not going to be happy about that, but it was necessary. I’m angry at myself because i just witnessed what life was like for Bella when I left her. I thought the most dangerous thing threatening Bella was living amongst vampires, but of course i was wrong. It was when she befriended Jacob Black and started living amongst werewolves! In this episode, a new boy named Scott Hope is Buffy’s new interest. Hope is kind and smart, but most importantly human. A human is what Buffy needs to be normal and safe in her world. There’s even another chance for Buffy to live a normal life when Faith the new slayer appears and declares that she has accepted her destiny as a slayer. But even when Buffy gets a chance to have a boyfriend and give up slaying, she can’t do it and probably the same reason Bella refuses to leave me. It is her identity now. She would be lost without the life she has created for herself, despite first being forced into slaying.

Dead Man’s Party
i just finished watching episode 2 of Buffy and I have to say it was quite the experience. I’ve been alive since 1901 so it is rare when something or someone surprises me, yet Buffy did. What was it about her? The way she dressed or talked was nothing abnormal of a high school teenage girl. In fact, all of her clothing pieces incorporated light pink or blue which suggested her innocent and delicate personnel during this time. Buffy is also not one to hold her tongue, for example, in front of her mother, Joyce. The mask above is actually one of Joyce’s new pieces in which Buffy comes to criticize in the beginning of the episode. I was annoyed by this because she decides that this is the way to get on her mom’s “good side” (yeah, right). It’s probably a good thing she noticed something wrong with the mask though because it ended up resurrecting the dead to come and attack everyone. Now I get Buffy’s criticism of the mask when she states, “the mask wants everyone in the room to suffer.” I’ve actually heard stories of the mask of Oben but i never knew it still existed. The legends about the mask of Oben influencing emotions must also be true because it affected the characters in a strange way. No one was able to talk to Buffy about their clearly mixed feelings about her return; although they were happy she came home, it later showed they were anger and hurt she left without an explanation. Well now I understand Bella better than before. She forgave me for leaving once in order to protect her from what i am, but i don’t think she really forgot. She still looks at me like I might leave any second. I empathize with Buffy on this because our loved ones could never trust us like they use to.

New Beginnings
I can’t believe i’m on tumblr. To be honest, I never took an interest in what the human kids are doing these days, but i guess i’ll give this a try since Bella is particularly interested in this style of blogging.
I recently found dozens of blogs written by my girlfriend, Bella. Needless to say, she did not let me read any of them, but of course I just went back and read them while she was sleeping. I’m glad i did because I fell in love with her all over again. Like myself, Bella loves to read literature in any form and recently I just found a piece of work that caught my attention right off the bat (pun intended).
It is a story about a girl who is gifted in killing vampires. I know...It’s quite amusing. Yet, something about this girl, Buffy Summers, reminds me of Bella and I can’t help but try to understand why that is. I’m hoping to understand the complexity of Bella’s thoughts since I can’t see past her mind barrier unlike any other human i’ve come across. Yes, I know exactly what you’re thinking, literally. But if this can help explain a teenage girl’s mindset that might make my relationship with one easier, let’s just say i’m willing to try.
As of now, I am binge watching season 3 on Netflix with Bella so I’ll be posting my thoughts about the show here.
