Updated WMS Hair Recolor Links

I noticed that many of the links on Wildly Miniature Sandwich's Tumblr are broken, including the links from my Essential Mods & CC post. Since these recolors are grouped together by the expansion packs they come from (at least, mostly) it is very annoying to go digging for all of them individually, as there's just too many of them. This is, I assume, the reason why WMS previously had a single page on her Tumblr with all of these links in one place. Therefore, I decided to collect all the links in one post here, as a replacement. I am also keeping this separate from my own Essential Mods & CC Post to reduce clutter.

It is important that you download all of these recolors as these are dependencies for most of my pony Sims (which I will eventually release to the public!) to work properly, and will all be required for the Total Pony Conversion modpack to work properly when it is finished. Please make sure you have all of the expansion packs as well. I'm not going to tell you how to acquire them... ;)

A note on future updates:

As of today, May 13th 2025, the latest expansion pack released by EA is Businesses & Hobbies, and WMS did do recolors for that pack, which is included in the list of links below. I might not update this list right away whenever a new pack comes out and WMS does a recolor for it, but feel free to leave an ask if it's been a while and you think the list might be out of date.

2 new recolors: Sci-Twi bun & Sunset Shimmer

Good morning everypony. It's been a busy few days for me getting these recolors done, but here they are! Sci-Twi's mad scientist bun is a standalone from Laundry Day, and Sunset Shimmer's hair is a standalone from the base game.

Edit August 18th 2023: I forgot to mention that if you want to recolor the headband, you can use Wildly Miniature Sandwich's Laundry Day accessories to pick from a wide variety of options.

Edit August 20th 2023: Fixed a bug in the Sunset Shimmer recolor that was causing the gallery thumbnail to look like the swatch. If you had the old version and you download V2, just clear your cache before restarting.

Edit 2, May 13th 2025: The link to Wildly Miniature Sandwich's Laundry Day accessories is no longer working. I have sent an ask on her Tumblr for a new link, but unfortunately until then, you can't get this recolored headband. I accidentally deleted the file myself when moving my data between computers, so I don't have a backup. :/

Another Rainbow Dash hair fix. Now 20% shinier!

Hi! I've finished V3 of Rainbow Dash's hair, which should (hopefully) be the last version. If you saw my last post, you know I had to remove the specular map on my first version due to a glitch with hats. For this version, I have:

Re-added the specular map to make the hair shiny.

Re-added the normal map which adds a little more detail.

Fixed a couple small holes that I didn't notice before.

Attempted to add proper tags (EA doesn't make it clear what they all do, but I did my best)

Important Warning

I strongly recommend using very high Sim detail with this recolor. After some testing I found that any setting under very high will have some color bleeding/artifacts. If you need more performance you can lower other graphics settings without an issue.

Rainbow Dash hair fix

Hello again! This is just a quick update post to let you all know I discovered a bug in the old Rainbow Dash recolor that was causing the specular map to glitch out when wearing certain hats, as you can see in the screenshot on the left. You can download the new version here. Edit August 17th 2023: This version has been superceded. Check my blog for more details. Note: In order to fix this I've removed the specular map altogether which has minimal impact on the overall look, but if anyone wants to help me fix it I'd welcome the help! (fixed)

Starlight Glimmer hair recolor

Hello again! I made this recolor for Starlight a while back but didn't want to release it at first because I wasn't sure if I was fully satisfied with it, but I finally decided that I should go ahead and that I wasn't likely to make any more edits to this design. I would have done some thicker teal stripes on the back of her hair but for technical reasons it wasn't really possible with this particular hair mesh, but I did the best I could! I'd love to hear what you all think. :) Download the recolor here. This recolor is a swatch for a hair mesh from the Cool Kitchen pack.

MLP:FIM loading screen text mod

Greetings everypony! I've been working on a total text conversion mod as part of my MLP total conversion modpack which is taking more time than I originally thought. However, I've already finished the loading screen text mod so I figured I'd go ahead and release it on its own. Special thanks to Frankk from frankkmods.com for making the Sims 4 Toolkit which helped populate the string table.

Also, please note that with any new packs that come out, there is a possibility they may include new loading screen messages. The mod will still work while you wait for an update, it'll just have a few new messages mixed in with the pony-themed ones.

My first hair recolors: Rainbow Dash & Twilight Sparkle

Hey y'all, I have a lot of work left to do but I just wanted to go ahead and share these two recolors since they're already done & ready to go. The rest of the Mane 6 will be coming very soon, plus many more! I'll be doing recolors for almost every major character (and several minor ones), so stay tuned!

My first MLP CC: Unicorn Horn for All Ages

Hi! This is my first ever CC for the Sims, a unicorn horn that grows in length as you age and automagically matches your sim's skin color just like in My Little Pony, and it will work with any custom skin color mods you install. This works for all ages except newborns. Please note that the horn will clip through any hats or hair that get in the way but on some hats/hairstyles it looks very natural. Listed under face > skin details.

Warning

There are a couple of minor bugs with this CC currently, which I am working on, but firstly I should warn you that I haven't yet gotten around to making additional LODs for this. This means the horn will disappear after you zoom out far enough, but this isn't as much of a problem with very high Sim detail. Therefore, I recommend you use very high Sim detail, at least for now.

Additionally, the horn does clip with any hats and/or hair that get in the way, but in some cases it actually looks pretty natural. But just keep in mind that your hat options in particular will be more limited than usual.

Essential Mods & CC

This is a master list of all mods & CC (other than my own) which are required for the full My Little Pony experience. This post will be kept up to date as I continue to find new mods/CC & add them to my collection.

Mods

1. Scumbumbo's XML Injector which is required for compatibility with a lot of other mods. 2. Documents Override (Windows Only) by anadius. This mod is really important if you want to be able to switch easily back and forth between pony saves and non-pony saves. With this mod, you can simply create different desktop shortcuts for the Sims that access different Mods folders. Otherwise, there will be some mods that you have to take out of your Mods folder (or temporarily change the file extension) whenever you wanna switch back to a non-pony save.

Please note that if you have any mods/CC you use for both kinds of saves, you will have to have a copy in both versions of your Mods folder. If you want to save on space, you could also keep one copy in one Mods folder, and create symbolic links to them in the other Mods folder. If you aren't comfortable using the command line to do this, you can use a third-party tool called Link Shell Extension to make it easy. Keep in mind that if you rename a folder/file that has a symbolic link connected to it, you will have to remake the link.

Introduction

My intention is to create an immersive experience of the world of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in the Sims 4, using a combination of: - Mods/CC (made by myself & others) - Custom world names & descriptions to match places in Equestria - All NPCs replaced by ponies from the show - Original & customized buildings
