Ah, yes. Mr. Moonfloof is very much capable of knocking candleholders over. And food bowls. And papers.

This is Moonlight. He was blind as a kitten but now he鈥檚 a perfectly healthy tom 100% capable of knocking our candleholders off of the table.

[Top pic is of Moonlight as a kitten. The rest are more recent.] Once upon a time in December, mom called me downstairs into the area of the house I like to call "the people zone". When I came down those stairs, I had no clue what would be waiting for me. I turned my face to Deena's food bowl and in front of it was the tiniest little gray kitten I'd ever seen. My brother had found him stumbling blindly along the road. He was malnourished, blind (despite his open eyes), and COVERED in fleas. He came up with the name "Moonlight" because his pupils were so grayed over that they looked like moons in his eyes. I spent the next couple of hours playing with him and pretty much trying to keep him all to myself. Selfish, I know. Especially with two other siblings and a mom in the house. But for some reason I felt like the mother of this tiny floof child. I wanted to protect him with my life. We found out that Moonlight actually belonged to a family down the road that didn't want him. They actually had no idea that he was blind until my brother spoke with them. This meant that we could keep him...... right? Wrong. There was one thing in the way of us keeping this cat. My dad. He's 1000% anti-cat. He's capable of tolerating our other feline, Deena, but that's only because we've already lived with her for 6 years. When he came home, he wanted Moonlight out of the house as soon as possible. Not even Mom could talk him out of it. Me and my brother were the ones to take him back to his home. On the way back to our house, I felt like I had just lost my own child. This kitten, who understood my eyesight issues and absolutely adored me, was being forced to go back to a home that didn't care about him. I was pretty much an empty shell for the next couple of days. About a week or two after Christmas, mom and dad decided to spend some time apart. Long story short, dad stayed in the apartment connected to our house so that he could at least be close to his kids. During this time, Mom decided it was time to go back for Moonlight. My brother brought him back home and we realised that Moonlight needed a LOT of TLC. Mom wasn't even sure if he would live. We had to give him several baths in the sink, as the fleas kept turning the water red. I spent a lot of that day outside brushing the fleas out of his fur with a comb. When my parents got back together again, Dad accepted the fact that he would have to tolerate Moonlight as well. All of his children were too attached now for the kitten to leave. Two years later, he's fully recovered, has perfect vision, and sleeps on my bed. He has become best friends with our Chihuahua and constantly tries to flirt with Deena even after being neutered. And Dad? Despite what he says, I'm certain that he doesn't mind Moonlight anymore.
