As someone who, overall, enjoyed fantastic beasts, it really causes a lot of issues for the worldbuilding
I think fantastic beasts really highlights a flaw in jkrs writing. Mainly, how the rules for her world really only work if you consider white people, and totally fall apart when you consider the same world from anyone else’s point of view.
The idea that in america you can have 0 contact with no-majs is fine, if 1. Everyone is white and/or 2. Magic is entirely hereditary. But neither or those ia true.
The movie takes place, what 60 years after slavery was abolished? What happened when a wizard was born a slave? Were they left to form an obsurial? (No, they say there hadnt been one for centuries in america) were they whisked away to the magical world and expected to leave their relatives to rot in slavery?
The movie takes place 30 years after the wounded knee massacre. What about magical children born in native communities? Are they invited to ilvermony? Do they let their communities be butchered?
What will happen in less than 20 years when japanese internment camps begin? Will witches and wizards of Japanese heritage just pack up and go to the camps too? Will they go into hiding and leave their potentially nonmagical families?
Jk seems content to act as though the Wizarding world has no racsim and instead uses magic vs nomaj tensions as an allegory. But that doesnt work when you have muggle born wizards who would be affected by racism in the nonmagical world.
And i dont think jk has ever even considered this. And it shows.

Look, I just want to watch a blackhead video or a giving birth video on youtube without an ARMY pointing out some other person’s BTS avatar and then a whole fucking thread of 202 comments flooding with a bunch of fandom jabber. Like, go back to tumblr, go on a forum, talk on twitter, join a facebook page OR HOW ABOUT GO TO A BTS VIDEO AND FAN FAP THERE. Let me watch my videos in peace. It’s like, the one place I go to escape the fandom bs (all fandoms before ARMYs get their panties in a bunch).
I don’t understand why armys have to apologize? Yes we can be annoying commenting about BTS, irrelevant or not, but is it so hard to just keep scrolling? If it doesn’t affect you, why make a fuss over it? Ignore it and move on with your day. Army’s love BTS and we are going to showcase that. Yes, there are a large number of annoying armys, but every fandom has them. I don’t understand why people makes a fuss about the things bts and army’s do. I guess youre just bound to get hate with fame.

Honestly, they are literally like the Taylor Swift of the kpop world. They pop up everywhere when I don’t even want to see them. There are articles written about every tiny thing about them. Their fans are every where bragging about them and also shoving them down people’s throats saying that if you don’t like TWICE you’re wrong. So when I actually go and find some videos on them to see what the fuss is all about I am appalled. They can hardly sing, their dancing is alright, they can’t rap... like they literally only have their looks and their age going on for them. I really can’t see what is so utterly revolutionary about them.
They difference between TWICE and Taylor Swift? T-Swift can actually write her own music.
The only reason why all of you think TWICE is overrated, is because all of you pay attention to them and send them hates. If you ignore their articles and their songs, it won’t seem that they are actually overrated. You asked for it, not TWICE. You can’t blame them for their popularity. Blame yourself for letting yourself get affected by it.
