my blonde baby !!!!

met my younger self for a coffee today.

we met outside, both 20 minutes early.

‘you smell like cigarettes’ i tell her,

‘you too’ she tells me. i laugh.

‘my name’s eeve, i use he/they pronouns’ i say, and the expression on her face changes, i see a sparkle of joy. ‘so we’re finally free’ she says. ‘still figuring it out, but we’re proud now’ i respond. ‘i like eeve, that’s a really cool name’ she says.

‘i know, i chose it because of eevee, the pokemon.’ her eyes sparkle again as she recognizes their fav pokémon’s name in mine.

we’re funny to look at, she’s wearing all black and have a green buzzcut and smudged makeup, while i’m all dressed in pink and pastel colors, wearing less makeup than she does.

she orders a coke zero, i order a latte, she looks at me weirdly while i put some sugar in it.

she tells me she’s in love, i know she’s maniac and her heart will be irreparably broken soon. she asks me how’s her now, if we still love each other: i change the subject, i don’t want her to know.

‘are we alright in your time?’ she asks me.

‘no, we’re still working on it, but it’s worth it’ i say.

she hugs me and gets on the first bus, while i wait for the next one to arrive, so she can’t see where i’m going.

i must’ve told her i carry her whenever i go, but i didn’t so i just stand there at the bus stop, hoping we’ll meet again.
