Effect Pedal
34K posts
Not exactly an instrument, more likely an accessory. An additional, non-obligatory link between the real instrument and the amp and/or mixer. But it is fun.

Get on over to YouTube for our demo of the brand new Notorious Rabbit Octave Fuzz Driver (NTRS Mk.1) from our friends at Analog Music Company!! 🤘 This thing is all kinds of noisy, in the very best of ways, providing glitchy, gated, staccato walls of fuzz, with a little extra octave zing thrown in...not for the faint of heart, BRACE YO'SELF!!!

We're going back to the ever-awesome BOSS lineup today, with a pedal I've had my eye on for a while now. The VB-2W Waza Craft Vibrato brings a vintage sound into the modern era, complete with a couple of different modes and better functionality than the sought-after original units. Click below for our demo, thanks for watching as always!! ✌

Sperrin - Fuzz Box
"... was made by David Sperrin, in Southport, in the North of England. The model was advertised in the music press various times during 1966. What little is known about this obscure fuzz box comes from press cuttings, and from the testimony of Simon Sperrin (David’s son). ... The Sperrin Fuzz Boxes were assembled by David Sperrin at the family home on Matlock Road, in conjunction David’s wife, Beryl, who posted the fuzz boxes to their customers. A description in the press of the model reveals it to have been a foot-operated pedal, with two basic control knobs with which to adjust the sound. No examples of the Sperrin Fuzz Box are known yet to have actually survived."

foot-switch position
Here is a comparison of some foot-switches and some effects-pedals that integrate the foot-stomping on/off action into their design. We employ three parameters for the position of the ‘footswitch-switch’:
Tumblr media
The distance from the very tip to the switch ranges from 40 - 70 mm.
Tumblr media
The height above the ground ranges from 30 - 45 mm.
Tumblr media
The most convenient angle to accommodate to the stomping foot seems to be at about 15°. Several designs agree on this angle, also prominent enclosures like the one of the tonebenders. Though, the Sam Ash Fuzzz Boxx is steeper, at about 25°, and it is certainly not a bad engineered housing.

After diving into the new Brothers AM from chase bliss a few days ago, I thought it would be a great day to release another Analog Man Guitar Effects collaboration pedal review and demo, ’cause why not? Today, we’re going to take a look at the Jim Dunlop Guitar Products MXR / Analog Man Duke of Tone Overdrive – while the Brothers AM is a tribute to the King of Tone, this one takes after it’s little brother, the Prince of Tone...

Northern Virginia Fuzz Summit!
"4 local builders get together to share and compare vintage fuzzes and personal builds. It’s always an eye opening experience. This time around we also had a couple others join in on the fun. Worked our way through Fuzz Face, Mk I, Mk 1.5 V828, Mk II, , FZ-1, and a couple other pedals thrown in for fun. Builders were myself (Mason FX), Purple Noise FX, Happening Effects, and JMAC Guitar Pedals."

Sano - fuzz and treble booster
"This is a mega, MEGA rare combination fuzz and treble boost pedal made by Sano in the late 60s (they were in Jersey somewhere, I believe, and they specialized in accordion amps, if memory serves, but I digress...).
Like Valco, Sano made a lot of equipment for other brands, who simply relabeled the units and sold them under their own banners. This pedal was no different. Most of the time you'll find these pedals (if you can even find them at all) as the "Applied Fuzz and Treble Booster." However, finding one like this with Sano's own logo on it? Forget about it. Ridiculously rare.
This one is pretty neat because it lets some unaffected signal through depending on where the "Intensity" knob is set, giving this pedal more definition than most vintage fuzz pedals. The "boost" knob isn't a boost - it's an "attack" or "saturation" control that dictates how crazy you want the fuzz effect to be. It also shifts the mid frequencies a bit as you turn it.
The treble boost's tone shift is subtle, but sounds really great.
Is this pedal for the timid? Hell no, but what fuzz pedal is? If you're into super saturated buzz-saw tonal mayhem, you may want to look into tracking one of these down if you have the coin (they seem to go for $500-$700 bones these days)."
