Okcupid's matching system is utterly broken. I'm getting in the 90%s with people I'm fundamentally incompatible with. I think they must have changed it so everyone feels like they have a higher % than they truly do. I'm at 95% with this one girl, but we have 65 questions we agree on and 57 that we disagree on. The math is not mathing. They also got rid of the ability to rank questions by importance and to allow the other person to answer differently to you (like the important big spoon/little spoon question).
Ten years ago OkCupid had such a great matching system (and you could filter for important stuff like kids and religion for free) and now it's just a bland tinder clone.

I hate it when I write a post about something happening in my life and then realize I can't actually post it or else I'm just going to get people totally invalidating my experiences and feelings.

The flip side of it, where people act like the way a story unfolded is the only way it could have POSSIBLY unfolded, makes me even more irrationally angry than the aforementioned. Like the story was something that grew naturally like a tree, rather than a thing created by a human's brain.
Have you ever criticized a poorly written story and had someone go, "But it HAD to be that way, because of [the way the writers justified it in-universe.]" Like, you know it's not real, right? You know the author could have made any one of thousands of other choices, right? The story as presented isn't some kind of Ultimate Truth, it's the result of the author making specific choices.
Few things make me more irrationally angry than when people talk about storytelling like it's set in stone. "A story where XYZ happens could never work." "A story with this premise can't be good." "A story with this character can't be good." Just a total lack of imagination or even a willingness to say "Okay, maybe this isn't a great idea on its face, but what could make it work?"
People sometimes ask me if their ideas are good, but honestly, I think an idea being good is less important than the way the story is written. I've seen great concepts ruined by shit writing. I've seen stupid concepts saved by terrific writing.

when I was sixteen my life had been mapped out for me though what nobody realized at the time was the map was of a kingdom that no longer existed
anyway
when I was sixteen I stopped at a red light behind a car with a license plate that said GIVE UP and I still think about it sometimes what I thought it meant then what I think it means now and how sixteen year old me wished she could tap on the window and ask the driver what he meant by it

Hello all! I wanted to show another snippet of a new scene from the reprint of TQOI! I also wanted to express more thanks to those who are still supporting, as money is incredibly tight this year and I've come to rely on Patreon more than I ever have in the past. <3

The entire plot of Princess of Domeysil was inspired by that one sidequest in Oblivion where you have to rescue that random noble's son and his friends who decided to jump into one of the Gates

Sorry you can't buy Wedding Dress Esofi unless you first unlock Wedding Dress Adale for 2000 diamonds. She's another 4000 diamonds after that.
No, there aren't any packages of exactly 2000 diamonds. You either have to make two transactions or buy the next package up. I am so good at this.
