Sometimes the personality of a playable character can be difficult to pin down, as the decisions they make are the decisions of the player more so than the character. However, I believe it is safe to say that Alex, at least in Mystics of Trash and Violence, is a very focused individual. He has his goal, and will stop at nothing to achieve it. Rarely is he distracted and his path is mostly linear: a very defined left-to-right progression. If MoTaV was a comic, the very layout of the panels could reinforce this idea of focusfocus to the point of obsession. Horizontal panels reflect the sense of direction of the game in a very literal way as well as giving the reader little choice in how they read the comic. Straight from the top to the bottom, with no confusion (albeit this page has some variation). The point of focus is typically centred, in an almost tunnel-vision manner. Panels may feel uncomfortably letterboxed and cramped, as the MoTaV experience isn’t a pleasant one.
Such a rigid formula can also enhance moments of distraction or make a dream sequence seem even more unreal by using a contrasting layout.
/end nerd rant.

L O V E this so much It’s so oddly beautiful. Despite them fighting through hell, they find some type of enjoyment fighting together, or in this case, dancing.
