Dublin Port. It a seaport of both historical and contemporary economic importance. It is located either side of the River Liffey, out to its mouth. On the north side of the river, the main part (205 hectares or 510 acres) of the port lies at the end of East Wall and North Wall, from Alexandra Quay. The element of the port on the south side of the river is much smaller (51 hectares or 130 acres) and lies at the beginning of the Poolbeg peninsula. • • • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #dublinport #wpodublin #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #instaireland #grandcanaldublin #grandcanaldocks #grandcanaldock #dubliners #dublindoors #doorsofdublin #liffey #riverliffey #dublinireland #dublin🍀 #visitireland🍀 (à Dublin Port) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqmG9jDAQ3E/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ul47kzqsgmn1

Grand Canal Built the 18th-century canal that swept across Ireland, the 144km Grand Canal stretches across the country from Dublin to the Shannon. Two hundred and fifty years of history are waiting to be discovered along the banks of the Grand Canal. The canal enters the heart of Dublin through Inchicore. Traveling by boat to the countryside, with a view to the countryside, with a view to the countryside If you're going to wind up on the waters you have a choice of transportation. M.J.O'Neill's (2) following... A fine decorated iron three-dials clock on the Suffolk Street frontage. It’s the pub nearest to the Front Gate of Trinity College, Dublin and therefore attracting Arts undergraduates and academics. The original structure was divided into definite areas: a “cocktail bar” in the corner for the gentry, a public bar off Suffolk Street, and a back bar. A small snug, immediately inside the Church Lane entrance, was the significant venue for the “Fabians” of the early 1960s and for later left-wing students from Trinity College, Dublin. • • • • • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #instaireland #grandcanaldublin #grandcanaldocks #grandcanaldock #percyplace #dubliners #dublindoors #doorsofdublin #liffey #riverliffey #dublinireland #dublin🍀 #visitireland🍀 (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqgu1oqgTC5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1d2o1qwd85359

The London and North Western Hotel. North Wall quay (Port Thuaidh) is east of the inner north side of Dublin, along the River Liffey. In 1861 the London and North Western Railway Company which had been operating a steam packet service across the Irish Sea, moved its Irish terminus from Kingstown to North Wall Quay. In 1883 the company bought the Prince of Wales Hotel, and soon afterwards replaced it with this building, the London and North Western Hotel. It was later known as the British Rail Hotel. With the demise of the ferry services from North Wall, the building was taken over by CIE (Córas Iompair Éireann - Ireland's national public transport provider). It latterly contained the offices of Irish Rail Architects – it is now in rehabilitation and renovation. The interior has much original detail including a fine stairwell. #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #instaireland #grandcanaldublin #grandcanaldocks #grandcanaldock #percyplace #dubliners #liffey #riverliffey #dublin🍀 #dublincity #northwallquay #irish_daily #thedublinbible (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqeLA9OgXks/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xodnh8c81o8r

M.J.O'Neill's (1) It’s a notable bar and restaurant in central Dublin. It has occupied 2 Suffolk Street and adjacent buildings, continuing round the corner into Church Lane. It is claimed there has been a tavern on the site for some three hundred years. From 1875 it was owned by the Hogan Brothers, until M.J. O’Neill bought and renamed the premises in August 1927. The corner structure is an impressive four-storey, vaguely of the Arts and Crafts Movement, red-brick and early twentieth century, with prominent Tudor-style projecting bay windows. The building is protected and in a conservation area. • • • • • • • • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #instaireland #grandcanaldublin #grandcanaldocks #grandcanaldock #percyplace #dubliners #dublindoors #doorsofdublin #liffey #riverliffey #oneillspub #oneillspubdublin (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqbmjk3A7As/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1uby1fzpo1bj8

George's Quay plaza. it’s a street and quay in Dublin on the southern bank of the River Liffey. Though earlier land-reclamation along the Liffey's south-eastern banks had allowed for construction in the area, as evidenced by the quay's name, its current layout derives from Dublin's "Georgian" development period in the 18th century. Most remaining buildings on the quay however date from 19th and (predominantly) 20th century construction. The quay is fronted primarily by George's Quay Plaza - a complex of buildings located between Hawkins street and Lombard Street. It is sometimes jokingly referred to as "Canary Dwarf" in reference to Canary Wharf in London. The 13 story complex faces the Custom House and, at 58.8 m high, is one of the tallest in the capital after Liberty Hall. Completed in 2002, it was designed by KMD Architecture, and houses the headquarters of Ulster Bank. • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #liffey #riverliffey #instaireland #georgesquay #georgesquayplaza (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqMKO3tg5_K/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=19wfngtzi0rxx

Custom house. The Palladian-style Custom House was designed by the English architect James Gandon. Today the building is used as the offices of the Department of the Environment. The Custom House was built from Portland stone and has four differing facades linked by pavilions at each corner. The formal south entrance with its pediment supported by four columns below a narrow dome is in the projecting central block that faces the River Liffey. Over the pillars of the portico are statues of Neptune, Plenty, Industry and Mercury and within the pediment are the figures of England and Ireland with Neptune driving away famine and despair. • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #liffey #riverliffey #instaireland #customhousedublin #customhousequay (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqJmj5qg2cV/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=fjwyhdl0ekf7

The revival of the city of Dublin since the new millennium mixes architectural modernity with its past ... Here the Convention center Dublin (2010) is the work of the American-Irish architect Kevin Roche. Then the Samuel Beckett’s bridge (2007), the iconic structure stretches 120 metres across the capital’s River Liffey from Guild Street on the northside to Sir John Rogerson’s Quay on the southside. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the bridge takes the shape of the Irish harp with cable-stay ‘strings’. The steel superstructure was built at a Rotterdam shipyard. It can rotate to an angle of 90 degrees between an open and closed position to allow boats to travel along the river. • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #liffey #riverliffey #jeaniejohnston #instaireland #calatrava #santiagocalatrava #liffey #riverliffey (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp8sphwA3Pl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=mzzfk24vvxus

Along the River Liffey. Continuing along the docks, we discover Jeanie Johnston, a replica of a Canadian three-masted, built in Quebec in 1847. The original boat would have allowed many Irish immigrants to reach America. This replica would have been made in the early 2000s, to participate in departure in sailing races. Transformed into a school boat, the Jeanie Johnston is docked converted today into a floating museum, it opens its doors to discover an exhibition, devoted to the Irish Great Famine, as well as to the history of the emigration in Ireland. • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #dublinquay #dock #docklands #liffey #riverliffey #jeaniejohnson #emigrar (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp6Iu9EA5Jl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=m06dof23qml0

Instead of the mythical "Lansdowne Road". The Aviva Stadium replaces the dilapidated Lansdowne Road which was located on the same site. The renovation consisted of the construction of a completely new stadium on the site of the former, in the heart of 'a residential area. The railway line that reached Lansdowne Road station and ran under the western stand of the old stadium, now passes at the foot of the new infrastructure. The new stadium was designed by architect firm Scott Tallon Walker and HOK Sport Venue Event (HOK SVN). • • • #igersdublin #topdublinphoto #dublincity #buildings #architecturelovers #architecture #architecturephotography #discoverdublin #visitireland #rail #railway #rugbyireland #sixnationsrugby #lansdowneroad #avivastadium #avivastadiumdublin (à Dublin, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp0-3i6AyVU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=12wf5uolbmrl1
