20 Marchant Stories - Part 5: Eiden Forever

(( And with this, we reach the end of eiden-squid, and we move on to @marchant-girls, a blog dedicated to Eimie, Eika and Paige Marchant. This will be the last post to be done in this blog (with a few exceptions, almost none), and I will be reblogging this for a few weeks.

Without any further delay, I present to you, Eiden Forever. Thanks for reading and see you in the Splatoon 2 battlefield! This story takes place right after Part 4 (The Proposal).

Eiden has been working out deals to sell all his furniture and his apartment. He was getting rid of everything in sight. Eika would move to a smaller apartment, that she would be able to afford on her own. 

Eiden had 4 suitcases full of clothing loaded in Fynn’s car, who was kind enough to lend it for the day. It was big enough for Demo’s suitcases as well. Eimie and Eika all helped Eiden with the selling and the moving and loading of their belongings.

But the night arrived fast, this was Eiden and Demo’s last night in Inkopolis. Their flight was tomorrow afternoon. The night at the apartment was cold, but refreshing. Eiden cuddled with Demo the whole night, giving each other their body warmth. The rooms were all empty, except for the master bedroom, who had a single bed for both squids to sleep on.

Eiden woke up first the next day, the last day in the city. He opened the window to let in the fresh air of Inkopolis after a nice breeze.

“Demo…! It is time..!!” He went back to bed and poked Demo’s cheek. She tall inkling hesitated to wake up. Eiden simply grinned. He always had trouble to wake Demo up, but he didn’t mind at all.

As soon as he got himself dressed for the day, a knock was heard at the door. He quickly went over to open it and receive whoever was waiting outside. It was none other than Eimie and Eika.

“So… this is where it ends, right…?” Eimie sighed. Fynn still hasn’t come back. His birthday had just happened yesterday. “I… kinda feel bad that we weren’t able to give you a goodbye gift, Eiden…” Eimie sighed even louder this time. She was devastated.

Eiden suddenly hugged Eimie. “Sister… I know what you are going through. Do not worry for any gifts…! You being here is enough. Thanks a lot for being with me, big sister!” He said, hugging tighter and tighter. Eimie couldn’t help but to shed a tear.

Eimie closed her eyes, embracing her little brother. “I will miss you…” She said, taking a few seconds before letting go.

“BROTHERRR!!!” Eika glomped Eiden. She was waiting for Eimie to finish her turn. Eika then was good to go with her goodbye. “OH MY COD I WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH PLEASE TEXT US FREQUENTLY AND NEVER EVER EVER FORGET US!!” Eika was crying loud. She was definitely the loudest.

“I.. I will never forget you! Any of you two! Demo and I will be sending tons and tons of pictures, that is for sure!” Eiden said, trying to keep his balance as Eika was clinging to him.

“There is.. one more thing you can help me to do… One last thing…!” Eiden said, letting his sisters inside the apartment. “Hold on a second right here, okay? It will be quick!” Eiden entered the master bedroom.

After a few minutes, Eiden stepped out, with a half-asleep Demo. “Alright..! A squid will come for this bed in a few minutes. This will be my final sale and we will be done. Can you all help me take it outside the room?” Eiden asked. Eimie and Eika all agreed and, with the strenght of the 4 squids, they all managed to swiftly place the bed outside.

“Eidey..? What is this?” Eika noticed a box below the bed. Eiden looked over. 

“Ooooh! My really old roller! I used that weapon back when I started turfing..! It is kinda old and I don’t know if it still works…” Eiden opened the box, to reveal a worn, but still functional, Splat Roller. He admired it and even assembled it in a flash.

“Wow.. I am definitely missing this… Eika, do you want to keep it? I have no use for it in Spain.” Eiden placed the roller back inside the box and held it up for Eika.

“O-Oh! Really?! I would love to keep it! I will use it in every single match to remember your legacy! The legacy of Eiden the Squid!” Eika held the box tight to her body. She didn’t used rollers at all. In fact, she has never used one before.

The squid that bought the bed came and went quick. Eiden left the apartment, as Demo, Eimie and Eika all waited outside. The purple engaged squid made sure to lock the door. 

“Well… it is time to go…” Eiden sighed. It was difficult to say good bye one last time.

“Eimie, Eika… you have all been amazing. I am so glad that I got to meet you all here! I don’t know how things would’ve worked out for me if it weren’t for you two… I will definitely text you two every day and send you pictures and everything!” Eiden said, getting a bit emotional.

After that, there was silence. None of the squids really wanted to leave.

Eika was the first to speak up. “Say, Eidey… The trip to the airport is half an hour right? And we are 2 hours away from the flight…” She was thinking of a plan. Eimie was quick to catch up.

“Eiden. Demo. I would love.. to turf with you one last time. All 4 of us against the new squids from Inkopolis Square. Its grand opening is tomorrow, but  we can hop in early and test the new weapons since we all are veterans to turf war. Whaddaya say, eh?” Eimie proposed one last turf war with the engaged squids.

“I.. I mean.. I don’t want to be late…” Eiden was hesitating a bit. Demo then suddenly jabbed his arm slightly.

“Come on, nerd! One last turf war, for old times sake! Let’s finish our story in Inkopolis with what we all do best! A Turf War!” Demo was tugging Eiden’s sleeve.

Eiden chuckled and smiled. “Alright, let’s do it! One Last Turf War!”

Eimie didn't really cared for the new place she could call home, at least for now. Eimie was immensely happy that Fynn was the squid that she would get to spend the rest of her life with. That was her only care at the moment. She began crying slightly, but out of pure happiness.

"F-Fynny.. this.. this isn't just my home..." She suddenly glomped Fynn and kissed him a ton of times.

"This.. t-this is our home..!! Inkopolis is our home, for now and for the rest of our lives!!"

Rodger admired the tickets. "Awesome! Thanks!!" He will now be able to catch up with his family.

Eimie followed Fynn, holding his hand and never letting go. "Oooh! What is this place?" Eimie asked, as she spotted an airplane high up in the sky. She smiled, knowing that she wasn't up there as well. Fynn then received a text message.

It read: "We are all flying back to Spain now. Ricardo has fired us all, but honestly we don't care. We are free from that old man. You helped all of us a lot, kid. Stay safe and take care of Young Ms. Marchant!" The text was by Ricardo's personal assistant.

Even if Ricardo caught up with them, they were long gone now at a high speed. Mission. Complete.

Eimie had an enormous grin in her face. She couldn't believe what just happened. "F-Fynny! You are my hero!!" Eimie cheered, as she placed her hands on Fynn's cheeks and planted a kiss on his lips. A victory smooch along with a tight hug. Just what they needed after this whole adventure.

Eimie was happily giggling as Fynn carried her. "Wheee!!!" She happily clinged tight to Fynn.

"YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE!!!" Ricardo was slowly catching up to them. That was until Rodger suddenly tackled Ricardo. "ACK!!" The taller squid fell to the ground. It wasn't necessary, but it sure helped. "GET THIS KID OFF ME!! DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE!!!" Ricardo was shouting his orders. All of them were ignored.

"Sir, according to your agenda, you have to get on the plane right now. We have to obey your original orders" The employee from last night said calmly. He sure was enjoying his revenge. Ricardo finally punched Rodger off him.

"AAARGH! YOU IDIOTS! WORTHLESS! YOU ARE ALL FIRED" Ricardo was still screaming. Rodger simply got up, holding his stomach where he was punched. He caught up with Fynn. Eiden was holding the doors of the airport station open for the three running squids. "Hurry Hurry!"

Eimie heard Fynn's voice. "H-Huh...?" She looked around until she spotted Fynn, hiding. She gasped, out of pure happiness. Even her tentacles started glowing brightly. "Oh?! F-F-Fynny..!!!" She couldn't contain herself. She woomy'd happily. This, unfortunately, caused Ricardo to look back.

"What is it, Eim-" He spotted the hiding squids. "YOU AGAIN?!" Ricardo roared, as he threw the papers to the side and ran towards Fynn. Eimie froze in place, and looked at Fynn terrified.

“You got it..” She gripped onto her steering wheel and took off after the car. She sped up in time to keep up with Eiden in front. “This is by far the most thrilling thing, I’ve done!” Angie could feel the adraniline in her veins.

Fynn quickly put on his seatbelt. “Just don’t go to far, Angie..!” He said, hanging onto dear life.

20 minutes later, Angie made it to Inkopolis International Airport. This is where Fynn escorts Eimie away from Ricardo. Wherever they’re going, he made sure that no one would ever find them. She pulled up by the drop-off area and let Fynn run free.

As expected, Ricardo was shotuing at the airport personnel. The flight was happening in more than 10 minutes, so his claims were not valid. The personnel looked annoyed.

Eimie was sitting at the chairs behind Ricardo. She seemed way too miserable. It looked like she didn’t slept at all last night. She had her gaze fixed at the floor, sighing repeatedly and almost falling asleep.

Rodger suddenly snuck up behind Fynn. “So what is the plan, eh? I go and tackle the old man?” He proposed, getting his knuckles ready for the attack.

Rodger got in the car right after Fynn did. "Alright, to the airport! It is just a matter of time before they leave!"

Suddenly, a police car rushed out from the other street. Its siren was loud and flashing its red and blue colors. Rodger groaned. "Ack!! Not now!!" They didn't needed this.

The police car stopped next to Angie, and it was none other than Eiden. "L-Let me get a head start..! I will clear the traffic for you!" Eiden floored the gas and was gone.

"Angie!! Follow that car!!"

"Take care, kid. Next time, call us before something big goes down." The senior police squid greeted Fynn.

"Hope everything turns out okay for you two! Now go get her!" Eiden cheered as well. This still wasn't the last time Fynn would hear from them.

Outside the police station, a green squid was sitting on the sidewalk. He wasn't looking at Fynn, but he heard him walk outside. "Wow.. that plan turned out really well for you two, eh?" The squid said in a sarcastic tone. It was Rodger himself, mocking Fynn.

((This story takes place during the Squid Sister Stories. Which is 9 months, after the Final Splatfest. Fynn was feeling melancholy since the new year had started. Just what made him down in the dumps?))

"Yes. Fynn. I am just here to deliver important information for you." He said, placing a receipt on the table.

"Listen up. These papers confirm Ricardo and Eimie's flight to Spain in the morning, in less than 12 hours. I was ordered to buy those.. with my own money..." He said, not happy about it.

"Ricardo has screwed me over several times in the past. I took the job to be his personal assistant years ago, but only because I got a family to support. I hate working for the guy. We are all mad because he is making us work just when we were supposed to be taking a week-long vacation break." He let Fynn read the receipt and then took it back.

"My wife just gave birth to my second daughter yesterday... And guess who wasn't there to witness it...? I am here, wasting my time with that old squid, when I could be enjoying my time with my family! This is stupid!" The squid continued rambling, until he realized he went way off topic.

"Err.. anyways... If he didn't let me see my daughter, then I won't let Ricardo see Young Ms. Marchant. Me and Ricardo's bodyguards all will support you tomorrow, kid. Be there before the flight, take Eimie away from him, and run for your life. We will stop Ricardo and fly back. Capisce?" The squid rushed these instructions to Fynn, and then got up. He was ready to leave.

Not even an hour after Eiden left the room, the older police squid walked in.

"Wake up, kid. You got some one waiting for you. Hurry, he looks short on time." The police chief left and waited on the visits room. Right there, was a well-suited squid. No one that has been seen before. He seemed impatient, tapping his feet against the floor and frequently checking his watch. He had some Intel for Fynn.

"Ah?" Eiden was about to leave when he heard his question.

"I... to be honest, I have never spent time with some other squid who I loved... I think you might be asking the wrong squid, f-friend... Sorry that I can't answer..." He said, sitting back again with Fynn

"B-But..! I have these dreams about it... I frequently dream about having a nice family. You know.. a wife and two squiddies. I really like those dreams. Spending time with her, traveling around the world, having lots and lots of fun. I know that some day, I will meet a squid like that, and just that thought makes me really happy!" Eiden smiled.

"I know those are just dreams, but somehow they all feel so real. It is weird... Still, what you and Eimie feel for each other is real! And it is the most adorable thing ever! Whenever I spent time with my little sister, she talked about you non-stop. Especially the day you bought a book for her. I don't remember if she read it at all... But she kept it close, walking around the apartment with the book in her hands, and just stared at it all day smiling wide. That day she was super super happy!"
