Eilon smirked at the mention of needing a map. If he had one he wouldn't be using it to stay within the castle, rather to find the quickest route past the walls and to his freedom. That was once he found a way to rid himself of this pesky collar. He was surprised to see someone that was at least in part fae roaming freely. He was sure they would have snatched up anyone remotely resembling their enemies here, yet here this stranger was, completely collar free. There was a bit of jealousy at that knowledge, but the seelie did his best to tamper it down for the time being.
He wasn’t surprised in the direction the conversation had turn. It wasn’t as if he’d gone to the gates, knocked and begged to be a slave. “I’m more curious of how you’re living so close to the wretched place and yet without a collar around your pretty throat” he replied as he eyed him curiously. “They found me near my home. Im assuming they’d known I was there because they came prepared and when I woke up I had this frustrating thing around my neck” he spoke flicking the collar, “so how is it you are so close yet have freedom? I’m aware you’re not full blooded does that play a role in how these monsters choose?”
as arnon fully took in the sight of the stranger encroaching upon his private time, a bright grin blossomed instantly as he recognised the faerie aura radiating from the other’s form, his eyes widening in instant glee at fate’s kindness. the collar around his neck quickly informed arnon that the poor bastard was indebted to the castle in one way or another. it was undoubtedly a likely point of contention – he made a mental note to inquire about that later on. “seems like a map of the place might be what you’re most in need of, pal.” stabbing the blade into the treetrunk nearest to him, arnon wasted no time in making his way closer to the other, shoving his hands in his pockets and scanning his gaze over the intruder meticulously. “wait, wait, wait– forget the blade for a moment, how’d a faerie such as yourself get chained up in that shithole?” nodding in the general direction of the castle as the emphasis left him, arnon soon met his gaze again with a curious stare, his brow raised expectantly. interacting with his own kind had been a rarity for arnon throughout his time spent within the village. it was the only downside of not directly interacting with the castle if he could help it. “you’re kinda letting the team down.”

Even in Eilons short time here he’d come to see what things these ‘Masters’ seemed to crave from those stuck in the undercroft. Not to mention he knew the attraction of Fae blood to the vampires, it wasn’t hard to surmise what might work to place the vampire in question in higher spirits. It wasn’t empathy that drove the Seelie however, but the better the mood of the other the better the chances Eilon could convince him in time of course to take this pesky collar off his neck.
“To be fair, I’m imprisoned here it’s fair to say my captors in general are my enemy and I’m under no illusion what I’m here for. I am impressed you’d ask however. I’ve already met your counterparts with less manners” he spoke with a light shrug of his shoulders.
He slowly approached the vampire his hues taking a moment to drink him in, pretending to weigh his options. “I suppose I can momentarily suspend my views for a bit of fun, if you can do the same”
It wouldn't have surprised Roland to learn that hearing of his participation in the war increased the slave's animosity towards him. It would only make sense though, if that was the case, Eilon seemed to be hiding those feelings well. The fae offered blood first, to cheer him, and that wasn't a terrible idea. Fae blood was sweet and had a heady, intoxicating quality to it, almost like being drunk if he took enough. It was appealing, given his current mood. He quirked an eyebrow at the question and chuckled ruefully.
"Are we all so predictable, then? I suppose our desires to generally boil down to those two things." Roland sighed. "A bit of both, since you ask. Is that what you're offering or is it only your blood on the table?" Eilon didn't have to offer anything for Roland to take it but he worked...a little differently than most. Blood he would sometimes take without explicit consent but the rest required at least some agreement. Of course, he had no qualms about convincing someone to want him or making them realise they did if they were loathe to admit it. Pushing off the wall, he walked slowly towards Eilon.
"Are you willing to go to bed with the enemy? Or only willing to let him bite you?" There was a certain taunting quality to Roland's tone as he spoke, though the direct questions were best since this was a fae he was dealing with.

Eilon was surprised by the fact that this particular vampire didn’t seem fond of formalities. He had been almost certain that the lot of them had big enough egos that they wouldn’t stand for being called anything less than Master, God, who knows what other uppity title.
The Seelie stepped back so that the guard could open his cage, only stepping out once instructed to do so. He was more than willing to play the role of the polite good little slave, “You’ve been far more polite than some, and I must say you’re quite the looker yourself, Marcus” he spoke with a playful smirk.
Tumblr media
Eilon glanced up from the corner he had made himself comfortable within the undercroft at the sound of his name falling from unfamiliar lips. He was curious of course how he'd been heard of, whether it was a good or a very bad thing. He supposed only time would tell, but he wasn't all that sure that he could trust the other's words when he mentioned having no intention of hurting him. "That would be me, you seem to have me at a disadvantage. You with my name and me without yours, Master?" he spoke smoothly as he slowly stood to his feet, stretching out his legs.

Elion leaned forward a bit as the other lowered his voice, his lips pulling into a bit of a smirk as the words left his lips. “Oh” he commented, “well that is new information for me” the Seelie admitted. It may be difficult to find out where each of the Masters he would spend time with hid their copy of the key but it seemed like a much easier feat than trying to convince one to take it off themselves.
“Arnt you a clever one” he commented with a pat on his shoulders, “If I can gain access to one of these keys, would you like me to free you as well or do you prefer being a pet to these foul creatures?”
Eilon wasn't certain he could believe the other or not. He seemed like the type if enough pressure or fear was instilled into him that he might sing like a canary. However, the seelie hadn't been exactly quiet about his plans to escape so far. Of course he'd been cautious as to not let any guards or staff over hear, but he had mentioned it to a few different slaves. In hopes that maybe the more that joined the more hope they'd have to be free.
"My initial plan was to woe a vampire enough to gain their trust in hopes that this pesky collar would be removed" he admitted with a sly grin, "However with the recent attacks on the city Im not certain that's as plausible. The Masters are likely to be even more paranoid now. So I may have to rethink my methods, sadly"

"No," he said, shaking his head. "I wouldn't do something like that." Kaj realized that there was no reason for anyone to trust him with their escape plans based on word alone... but what would he have gained from reporting them? It wouldn't buy his freedom. Hell, it wouldn't even buy him respect. All that would have done was put a target on his back—all for the sake of the same kind of people that had put him there. "I just wish I had the wits to try it, myself."

Eilon listened as the vampire spoke and did his best to hide his own feelings toward the stranger. The Seelie wasn't a fan of vampires in general, but one who actually participated in killing his people, well he was higher up on the fuck you scale. Yet, the Fae needed to mind his manners if he ever hoped to escape this prison he'd found himself in. Play the long game, watch the way he worded things since he couldn't outright lie. Eventually he'd win someone over enough to gain that freedom he so craved.
"Oh yes, I did, didn't I?" the fae mused and he would, a cheered up vampire was less likely to cause him damage or so he did hope. Then again he'd already met one whose joy seemed to be in causing pain so this could very well be a double edged sword. "I could offer you a drink, Master" the word master still felt foreign on his tongue but he was still smooth with his tone, "Although Im curious what it is you enjoy. Sex, blood a bit of both?"
"The Second War, yes. I fought in it." That was hardly a secret so there was no point in not revealing it. Roland remembered it well and how long those six decades had been. He hadn't participated constantly in active warfare during that entire time but he'd fought enough to have a very justified hatred of the slave's species.
"How observant." Roland drawled, only mildly sarcastic. "I still bear a certain enmity towards your people because of the war as you noticed. As you weren't even born until after it's conclusion, however, it's considerably reduced." Explaining himself and justifying his behaviour was growing old quickly. "You offered to cheer me, earlier. What do you propose?" Naturally he could order the fae to do whatever he wanted but it was often more interesting to give them some freedom and see what they came up with.

Eilon nodded in agreement to his age being rather young compared to a lot of his counterparts. When he did find himself amoung others which was becoming more and more rare they seemed to be old enough to either be a part of the wars or remember them at the very least.
He didn’t recognize him as a councilmen he’d not been there long himself and while he knew names he hadn’t been able to place faces to those names yet. To Eilon he was just another Master in a castle full of them. “Curiosity” the Fae admitted, “So you were around during the wars then? I’m guessing from your countenance when you first approached you’re not a fan of my species in general and my age does that make a difference to you?” He questioned his tone not showing any aggression just simple curiosity.
Eilon would absolutely love to see one or two less guards around the area, alas though he wasn't even certain the name of the Master who had called for them or if the Master themselves were the one who failed to do as they said. Regardless, it had clearly landed Eilon in a bit of a pinch. He wasn't keen to the idea of being punished, even if he wasn't completely innocent he hadn't stayed put as he was instructed. Well he had, but he'd gotten bored so after a while he'd given up listening to the instruction.
"Perhaps it is a mixture of both" he admitted unfortunately not able to lie. He'd been quite genuine about not wanting to get on this vampires bad side. He hadn't quite gathered what to make of the other, aside from the bit of disdain that seemed to be in his features. Then again, Vampire and Fae rarely saw eye to eye especially the older variety.
"I am 150 years young, and yourself?" he questioned back unable to stave off the curiosity he held. Was he there for the wars? Was he responsible for Eilon never knowing his home realm?

Eilon couldn’t argue with that fact. Anyone who wanted to willingly stay here as a slave needed to be checked out by a professional. Who would enjoy losing their freedom and being ripped away from their home. He wasn’t surprised that the other wouldn’t try to escape he was sure there were many here that were scared into complacency which Eilon was sure what these monsters wanted. “Depends, are you the type to run to the guards if you suspect someone wants to break free?” He questioned in return.
Tumblr media
Eilon’s lips tugged into a mischievous grin at the words that fell from the stranger near the permitter of the property, “Mmhmm” he hummed playfully as his eyes glanced around them. He himself had been checking just how close he could get without the guards being alerted. Not that he was going to freely be giving that information, “Be careful the guards may sense you have hope to escape and would likely be quick to squash it” he spoke as his hands moved to clasp behind his back, “I however encourage the quest for freedom” he added a moment later

Roland rolled his eyes at the response though he supposed it must be true since the fae couldn't lie. They were certainly skilled enough at sidestepping the truth, however, as Roland well knew. The second statement was clearly the real reason and Roland shook his head. "What negligence. Perhaps I'll have to have someone fired." It was a petty musing, a desire to take his frustrations out on someone nearby not miles away, though it was unlikely he'd carry the thread out. The slave's offer was more interesting and Roland leaned his shoulder against the wall, arching his eyebrows. "Is that a genuine offer or are you simply trying to bribe me to avoid a punishment? One I'm sure I should give you but..." He waved a hand dismissively "...as you say, it wasn't exactly your fault." Not that he was inclined to cut fae any slack but he doubted this one was truly at fault. The mischievous glint in his eyes was intriguing too, though fae were hardly Roland's favourite species to dabble with even if their blood was delicious.
"How old are you?" That could decide the matter. Certainly, he looked young but looks, especially here, were frequently deceiving. If he was too young to have fought in the war then Roland's might re-evaluate his opinion of him.

Eilon might just have wandered off a bit further than he was allotted for his outside period. He'd been venturing a bit further and further each time he was brought out to just see how vigilant the guards around him really were. Some were quick to give him a warning glance, today however, it seemed he'd managed to slip through the cracks. Lucky for him. He was under no impression he'd be able to make it past the castle gates as long as the collar was still around his neck, he could however do with a bit more freedom at least for as long as he could get away with it.
While it was far from being home, he felt a bit more at home within the confides of the trees of the forest. So that was where he decided to take his explorations. He'd not expected to run into company out here, yet as he moved further in he could pick up on the sound of someone nearby. It wasn't til he was closer that he got a good look at what the man was doing, tossing a blade at the trunk of a tree. The weapon was enough to tell him that the other wasn't a slave but he didn't look like any of the guards he'd met thus far either. So was he a Master or someone else?
He stopped short as the man turned in his direction, the blade pointed at him. His own lips curling into a charming smile as the last thing he needed was to end up in trouble from this encounter. If he could convince the other to agree that he'd never seen him out here it be all the better, "We'll that's a broad question, arn't we all in need of something? It's just a matter of finding who can provide for that need" he spoke vaguely, "Just on a stroll...quite the blades you have there"

exploring the forest connected to the castle grounds was always a soothing pastime for arnon. reconnecting with elements of his seelie heritage was something he’d found himself neglecting as of late, and with all attention turned primarily to the discord troubling the council, getting himself as far away from the hustle and bustle of the village as concern continued to spread seemed like the best course of action for guaranteed peace of mind. he’d been spending more and more time within the comforting embrace of nature – especially due to rigorous training to enhance and perfect the skills naturally bestowed upon him. if he didn’t rely so heavily upon having to commit to maintaining a somewhat sociable lifestyle for the sake of his sanity, arnon could easily see himself adapting to a more nomadic approach to existence.
rummaging through the satchel his father had left for him, arnon plucked the small training blade from within and refamiliarised himself with its weight in his hand, twirling the hilt between his fingers with practised ease as his free hand wrestled the satchel off and threw it to the ground below. swordwork had come relatively naturally to him, but given the fact his instructor had been the general for the fae military in the second war as well as having half his DNA embedded into his makeup, arnon couldn’t bring himself to be particularly surprised. or perhaps that was merely a byproduct of fae arrogance. either way, he counted himself fortunate.
easing into the routine with a few infinity rotations to warm up the required muscles, arnon felt himself slip into the familiar relaxed mindset as all his focus went into the weight of the blade as it cut through the air before him until it felt as natural as breathing. taking a few steps closer to the nearest tree, arnon narrowed his gaze to centre his attention on its trunk and swiftly executed a windmill cut with a soft noise of pleased delight as the training blade carved into the bark. it was only when he took a step back to appreciate the small indentations that his enhanced hearing picked up on the footfalls of another. turning sharply on his heel to point the blade toward whoever had been unfortunate enough to come across a sight that could very likely get the halfling in more trouble than he’d have an excuse for, arnon settled for a display of bravado rather than immediate remorse for his actions and directed a proud smirk in the stranger’s direction. “ah, ah, ah,” he teased, waving the blade playfully in the other’s direction. “easy now. i don’t like being interrupted. you need something?”

"I wasn't trying to run off," he said, even before turning around to see the source of the footsteps. Kaj was at the edge of the property, but there were guards not far from where he stood... and it was during his allotted outside time. Upon turning, he saw that his defense wasn't totally necessary, but... kept it up nonetheless. Just in case. It wasn't clear who he could and couldn't trust. "I was just looking."

Eilon hadn't made it very far in his adventure when he heard the voice calling out from behind him. Granted he'd heard the multiple language complaint even before the vampire had reached him, or probably even realized that he was there. He turned around to face the man, careful to keep his features polite as to not ruin the illusion of being a well behaved 'slave'. If he wanted any chance of gaining any of these self proclaimed Masters trust, he had to play the long game and play his cards right.
"As I don't know where any of these paths lead, I'd say it's safe to say Im lost" it wasn't a lie, he wasn't capable of outright lying. However, he wasn't here due to that fact clearly. "I was never retrieved as I was told I'd be, so here I am" he added after a moment. That was in fact the truth of it. Not his fault as far as he was concerned. Sure he'd taken it upon himself to move after waiting far too long and explore, but what else was he meant to do, stand against the same boring wall all day.
"You seem in need of some cheering up, anything I can do to help a handsome Master as yourself?" he spoke with a slight glimmer of mischief in his eyes.
Loud, angry French echoed off the walls further down the hallway Eilon had chosen, followed quickly by Dutch with some German thrown in for good measure. Roland figured he might as well cover all Belgium's official languages to get his point across to the idiot on the other end. Officially, the man was his aide but after this conversation Roland was strongly considering firing him. His job as councilman required him to check in on his country frequently and he did so, but he'd also asked for information about the murders and so far the other vampire had come up with absolutely nothing and Roland was livid. With another irritated snap in French again, he hung up and jammed the cell phone into the breast pocket of his suit jacket, shaking his head at the incompetence. No one knew anything. That was the repeated line and it was deeply frustrating.
The intoxicating smell of fae blood distracted him for a moment from his anger and Roland saw the source of the smell when he turned the next corner. A slave, clearly, by the collar but unaccompanied. "You're not supposed to be here." Roland mused, his eyes still hard with residual anger though his lightly accented voice was much milder. "Let me guess; you got lost?" He quirked an eyebrow, curious as to what the excuse would be even as his anger cooled. A wayward slave was hardly as infuriating as the conversation he'd just had.

While Eilon didn’t look forward to much within the walls of this prison, outside of escaping of course. He was actually looking forward to going to the stables to help out a staff member. Soley due to the chance to have some interaction with nature itself outside of the small bit of time they were allowed out daily. The fae was truly beginning to miss his home and while this was far from it, it was an opportunity to be outside of the undercroft and not under a Masters thumb, at least that was his hope. That nothing would be required of his here, outside of the duties that came with helping out with the care of the horses.
He was escorted by a guard as if it was really necessary, he wouldn’t be able to get past the walls as long as this collar was in place. However, he guessed they were taking extra precautions with the unfortunate misses to the council members. Too bad whoever was behind this wasn’t a better shot. He brushed that thought back as he headed in the direction of the stables once the guard had finally figured he was close enough to let him out of his sight. The seelie stepped inside, taking a moment to take in his surroundings. A small hint of a smile forming on his lips as he approached one of the horses, gently brushing his fingers over his head, “You’re just as trapped here as I am aren’t you” he hummed softly.

"You must be Eilon," the vampire spoke in a calm and soft voice. Yet again he had found himself in the undercroft. He had finished doing some reading, research and reviewing reports and so he decided to just let his leg lead him. It was not uncommon for the hybrid to be here. After all he did have a thing for the slaves, getting to know them.

“Worse being they off us altogether” he commented figuring they’d be likely to do just that. He doubted they had a lot of patience for ‘disobedient slaves’. If wanting freedom again was considered disobedience so be it. He would not be a caged bird forever, he would find a way back to his home. The vampires had already kept him from ever experiencing the Fae realm of his people and now they’d tore him from the place he’d called home for years. He wasn’t going to stay without a fight.
“I’m flattered” he winked at Khion, “but I found it quite difficult to flatter anyone while chained to a cross and my life force quite literally being beaten from me” not to mention the cream after, drunk Fae was not quite as effective as he’d hoped but it gotten him through the ordeal.
"Very true. Or worse," Khion added with a slight grimace. His imagination unfortunately ran right to death, not surprised if the council would ever go that far with slaves that tried to escape. This place didn't seem to have any limits that he knew of yet. Well, except the permanent damage rule, but he wondered if that still counted after trying to run. He snorted and grinned at Eilon. "What, you haven't tried batting those beautiful eyes at someone? I can't believe none of these rich bastards wouldn't take that as bait so easily, especially with those fae charms of yours."
