the man was spritely, clearly a happy person and it was refreshing to be around someone like that when she wasn't in the usual environment of a stressful and somewhat depressing hospital. it occurred to her that this would be someone that flash would get along with like a house on fire.

"thank you. i never said my name, but i'm eilonwy, and your name?" she smiled, introducing herself. "it's nice to meet you"

Heilan was always in a cheery mood, a walking ray of sunshine with boundless energy and a heart so big it could hardly fit in his chest. He was the kind of person who’d drop everything to lend a helping hand—whether that meant wrapping someone head-to-toe in tissues after a clumsy spill or fearlessly slaying a demi-god on a mythical island in the middle of an enchanted sea. No task was too small, no danger too great. He was willing to go above and beyond for absolutely anyone and everyone, without a second thought. Some might say he was a few brain cells short of a full council and had absolutely no sense of self-preservation, but to that I say: puppycoqs. Heilan was sharper than he let on—clever in his own wild, unpredictable way, and smarter than most gave him credit for.

“It was my delight to help you, miss…?” he said brightly, then paused, his brow furrowing slightly as he tilted his head in confusion. “Wait—what did you say your name was again?” He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, his smile still unwavering.

"might i suggest watching some films with weddings in them? the vibe is much the same, usually without all the dramatics, but still"

"Okay, that's good to know," Rachel said. It was clear that she could barely contain her excitement, practically bouncing in her seat. "Someone really should make like a pamphlet or something for these kinds of things!"

she hadn't had a chance to catch up with jane when she got back home but her heart went out to the woman. ray and her had been so unlucky with timing and coming home when there's a wedding taking place must've really stung.

seeing jane in the street, she waved a hello and walked over to give her a hug "hi, i know it's a stupid question but how are you?"

jane porter, unlucky in love. the break-up of jane and ray had been sudden. a job opportunity arising for ray that had him based overseas. after the couple had talked about it jane knew it was too good for him to turn down and she didn’t want to be the reason he passed on it. it took talking, time and tears between them to come to the decision. jane read a saying one ‘if you love someone, you let them go’ but letting go was hard and it was painful.

returning home alone when a grand wedding was taking place was rubbing salt in the wounds and she couldn't face it. hoping to apologies to the couple, jane carried a wedding gift she intended to deliver to them.

eilonwy had finished her shift and she was desperate for some food. time had run away from her and next thing she knew she had done her full twelve hour shift. opting to head to evangeline's for a change, she smiled and said a hello to kronk whom she had learned had taken over management there. "thank you, i was here for the opening night but i've not managed to get a table here until now"

Kronk couldn't have been more excited, truly. He'd had a lot of career changes over the course of his life, he could admit that, but he was never ashamed of any of them. He had a lot of gifts and hobbies, and that was always a good thing. At least, he liked to think so. He still had the squirrel scouts to think of, but he was getting help in that regard, and now, well, he was over the moon to be managing Evangeline's, in Ray's absence. The man trusted him with a huge responsibility, and he was not about to take that for granted.

As the new manager, he wanted to make sure he got to know his customers, and therefore wanted to introduce himself as the restaurant began to fill up. "Welcome to Evangeline's," he greeted, with a warm smile. "First time visiting or have we been here before?"

"thank you" she smiled at his enthusiasm, it was a fun uplift for the day "you're right, always better to have too many than too little. i forgot to pick some up when i was picking up my coffee, i'll need to make a point to remember them next time"

"𝐎𝐧𝐞, 𝐭𝐰𝐨, 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞—𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐭!" He said with a playful grin, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he swiftly counted out the napkins. With a flourish, he handed her three, as if presenting a grand prize. "𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰—𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡! 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐬, 𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬—𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝!" He chuckled, giving a little shrug, clearly enjoying the moment as if he were bestowing a great and important gift.

"travis, i'm well thank you. you're looking very smart in your suit. i did, they've thought of everything for this wedding"

"Hey, how you doin'? You look great. Did you get your welcome glass of champagne?" @happieststarters

"not many, but i've been to a few" she smiled "we stay quiet during the ceremony but at the end feel free to cheer and clap. this is a celebration, the couple are work cheering for"

"How many have you been to?" Rachel asked curiously. "Are we supposed to clap? Do we cheer? Should I stay quiet?"

"i love weddings, they're always so much fun. i love celebrating people's love"

it was a rare occasion that eilonwy had a day off, and she was spending it doing as little as humanly possible. this morning, she’d had a lazy morning consisting of a long lie in bed and then a leisurely breakfast. continuing on with her day, eilonwy found herself sitting at enchanted rose café enjoying a coffee and pastry. she’d popped by to say hello to babette and victor but given the fact that the café was so busy she didn’t want to interrupt them.

“excuse me, could you please pass me one of those napkins?”

"i hope whatever is going on with you both works out for the better" she would hate to see them split but she was confident that the couple would do what suits them best "we're making headway in it. it's painfully slow but there is some progress., i'm hoping to dig up some answers soon for everyone"

"yeah, just babette and i. you know what we're like" the whole town knew what they were like. turbulent. messy. passionate to the point of public indecency. "how's the research going? any further forward?"

"i'm good thanks. it really has, he's put his heart and soul into this place." she said, looking around "in a rare plot twist i'm free for the night. i'm here to let my hair down and celebrate the opening with everyone"

"eilonwy, i'm good thanks. how are you?" she asked in return "yeah, all the hard work ray put in has paid off. the place is incredible. i hope it's a thriving success for him, he deserves all the success. are you free from the hospital for the night or is this a fleeting visit?"

eilonwy chuckled at mary's reaction to coffee. "say nothing about it, that's what friends are for. i'm always happy to keep you company and catch up with you. besides, who else is going to keep up with my extreme coffee drinking other than you?" she smiled "so how have things been? how's the wedding planning going?"

she all but squealed in joy at the arrival of eilonwy and her beloved coffee. she needed caffeine so much right now. "you're an absolute lifesaver, next one's are on me." she said before the other could protest. mary lifted to the cup to her lips and took a sip "that hits the spot. thank you for offering to come keep me company, it'll be good to catch up"

she had promised that she would bring along the coffees. smiling at the dogs running over, eilonwy gave mary a wave "it's alright, as long as they didn't knock the coffee's out my hand. speaking of which, here you go"

mary was out taking kitty and doggo on one of their many walks of the day. she loved seeing the two running around together and hoped to see her eventual children with them years down the line.

she smiled at the dogs darting around and she tossed their tennis ball for them to fetch but apparently they'd found something else that they decided to divert their attention to.

"kitty! doggo!" she called out, running after them "sorry, they love people"

"are you sure?" she asked again. she wouldn't pry but if he was fine no one had told his face that, he looked down. "i've been working on some research. i've been good, just keeping myself busy and trying to answer everyones questions about what happened. i'm just thankful that he's pulled through and is on the mend"

victor looked over at eilonwy "yeah, i'm alright" he said unconvincingly "i've not see you in a while. how are you doing? things alright over at the hospital? that whole thing with henrik must've been a nightmare for you all"

meeting becky detweiler at the bar wasn't a common occurrence, but it was a nice one when it did happen. they didn't talk much but eilonwy had a lot of time for becky, she respected her. "hi becky, how are you? this is some place, huh?"

becky made her way to the evangeline opening to support ray's new business venture along with celebrating the engagement of the happy couple. stepping into the establishment, becky smiled at the sight of the hard-work that ray so obviously poured into the place.

making her way to the bar, she ordered a drink and took a seat in one of the available stools while she waited.
