This beautiful piece is inspired by Calebmc from the mobile game Love and Deepspace. We wanted to draw similarities between this relationship and Elriel’s – the forbidden nature, the yearning, the intensity. Not only is the pose inspired by Calebmc, but we wanted to further allude to The Garden of Eden and the concept of taking the forbidden fruit. Here, Elriel are both holding the apple between them – who will take a bite first?

We want to thank @muni_luny SO much for this gorgeous artwork. As both a fellow LADS player and Elriel we knew you’d hit it out of the park!! You are such dear friend of ours and your talent blows us away every single time – thank you, thank you, thank you!

Something I found interesting while reading the series is how organically SJM ties Azriel and Elain together narratively through impactful and pivotal developments to both characters. When Elain says earlier in chapter 24 no one ever hears her or sees her, that no one ever really tries to and everyone else believed she was going mad-it was only Azriel who attempted to understand her. Azriel didn’t give innocuous, generic suggestions of taking her outside, he listened to her and truly saw her. Azriel met her where she was, his understanding became the light that guided her out of the murky realm of visions clouding her mind.

I can not get over how perfectly @renitorii captured the state of Elain’s mind and Azriel holding her fast, an anchor in her storm. Thank you thank you @renitorii for being so incredible through this whole process, it was such a pleasure to work with you! ❤️❤️

When I came across the reference photo for this piece on Pinterest, the first thing I thought was ELRIEL. Whenever Elain said in SF that her favorite dance was the waltz, I couldn’t stop thinking about the idea of her and Azriel sharing one! I think it’s such a sweet idea, the closeness and intimacy to each other would be so romantic and swoon-worthy! The gray light of morning had broken over the world, mist clinging to our ankles as we headed into that camp, Azriel still cradling Elain to his chest. He dripped blood behind him the entire time—a trickle compared to the torrent that should be leaking out. Contained only by the patches of power he’d slapped on it. Help—he needed a healer immediately.

Rhys lunged for Azriel, taking Elain from him and gently setting my sister down. Azriel rasped, swaying on his feet, “We need Helion to get these chains off her.” Yet Elain didn’t seem to notice them as she rose up on her toes and kissed the shadowsinger’s cheek.

Elain, sinking into the depths of the cauldron. Filled with fear, and confusion, uncertain what her future holds now. I’m hoping to get many soft and intimate moments between Elain and Azriel in their book and in this commission, I wanted to portray the moment Elain spends the night in Azriel’s bed for the first time. After spending months staring at Elain’s gift with longing throughout the night, Azriel is finally able to worship Elain in his bed till sunrise. They are each other’s soft place to land and in each other’s arm, they’re truly at peace.

I have been obsessed with Elizabeth’s work for years now and I’m so grateful I got the chance to work with her! She is so incredibly talented and truly delivered a masterpiece 🥹 Thank you so much for creating this for me!

After @elainsvisions dropped her Snow Queen commission this morning, I’m even more desperate for an Elriel book in Vallahan!

@elainem-art made this amazing post last year with evidence for the theory that Elain will join Mor in Vallahan.

@wingedblooms also shared some interesting thoughts here that have me convinced by this theory!

So last year, Sarah said she was going up North to draft:

and Vallahan happens to be the most Northern location on the ACOTAR map:

Then we have this clue that was left at the end of April:

“And no, it’s not just another Starfall” makes me think the Night Court may not be the primary location of the next book. “Something is coming” is giving “winter is coming” and that’s not the first Game of Thrones reference Sandy has made:

I don’t think he knows what/who the next book is about, but he did say he was coached on what to say and not to say. Jon Snow is the King in the North and we know Vallahan also has a king (in the snowy, North) that the NC is desperate to ally with. This could be absolutely nothing, but I’m choosing to clown a little!

Mor spend the majority of ACOSF trying to get Vallahan to sign a peace treaty with no luck:

And just look at all of the Vallahan mentions? I think it’s a top contender for a location of the next book:

Mor is clearly struggling there and who better to help than a seer who can convince anyone to do anything with a few smiles and a spymaster who knows cold hard manners are just as necessary to gain information as stealth and shadows?

They would truly be the perfect duo for this mission 🥲

Vallahan is also out of Feysand’s daemati magic’s range so it would be the perfect location for a forbidden romance to blossom!

Fairytales Elriel Month: Princess Bride

[Westley and Buttercup finally cease falling. Westley moves over to help

Buttercup]

Westley: Can you move at all?

Buttercup: [joyous] Move? You're alive! If you want I could fly.

Westley: [holding Buttercup] I told you I would always come for you. Why didn't you wait for me?

Buttercup: [sincerely] Well, you were dead.

Westley: But death cannot stop true love...All it can do is delay it for awhile.

I never realized how poetic the script was in this scene, and I couldn't help but imagine Elain and Azriel. To be honest, Buttercup's line “If you want, I could fly” reminds me of Elain's precious question, “Can you truly fly?” The poetic conversation of Elain and Azriel fittingly resembles Westley and Buttercup. Even the line, “I would always come for you” feels so Elriel coded. 💗 Imagine Azriel in the next book expressing Westley's line: True love is powerful enough that even death can not stop it. 🥹💗

Eyes & Ears of the Night Court | @elriel-month

“She scanned Elain from head to toe, wondering if she’d been taking lessons in stealth either from Azriel or the two half-wraiths she called friends.”

Well… turns out if she had she would be top of the class.

What better way to stealth train than stealing the one thing no one else has dared to touch and has only been given freely to her.

“I have never once seen Azriel let another person touch that knife.”

Yet there she is graceful, quiet, all soft steps and sharper skill lifting Truth-Teller right off the shadowsinger himself.

And the way he would let her…?

Says everything.
