okay i know it's a real possibility that yuuji will end up sacrificing himself in the end (it's something that's been bugging me since the very beginning since his grandpa told him to die surrounded by people), but if he does die to save megumi, isn't that the worst thing he could ever do to him?

megumi has completely given up on life because he lost the people he cared about.

the only person currently alive who megumi truly cares for is yuuji. if he did end up saving megumi, only to give up on his own life, that would be the final twist of the knife for megumi.

he's already struggling with the guilt of his own hands, his own shadows having caused the demise of his loved ones. if saving him will kill yuuji, that would absolutely shatter him beyond repair.

and the worst part is, if that did happen, he would feel pressured to live, so that yuuji's sacrifice isn't in vain. he would be pressured to live a life of guilt and self-loathing in a world where he couldn't save anyone he ever cared about.

in short, yuuji dying for megumi would curse him forever.

Writing this was such an epiphany for me about skk’s dynamic:

Chuuya thinks about it. With Dazai, he never has to be anything other than himself. With Dazai, he’s constantly challenged and, yeah, never has to hold back in anything.

Around other people, even his friends, Chuuya is something else. He’s the one making sure everyone’s okay or the one solving their problems. Somehow, he ends up being the responsible one, the one everyone can count on. He’s happy to be that for them, and proud to be able to help others, but it’s still a weight on his shoulders. Even when they tell him to relax and not worry about anyone else, he struggles to do so.

With Dazai, he doesn’t feel like it’s his duty to do anything for him. If he wants to, he does. If he doesn’t, he tells Dazai to fuck right off and doesn’t feel bad about it.

It’s nice to focus on the ways they’re good for each other 😌

dudebros always mock naruto for imprinting on sasuke like a baby duck but many of them do understand when obito does it with rin because they can see she was the only one to care and acknowledge obito when he had no one. she even pays attention to him to see right through his facade so of course makes perfect sense for obito to latch on her and develop romantic feelings. it’s ironic really because when we listen to sasuke’s confession we can see the parallels with him watching naruto from afar and seeing right through naruto’s actions as well and understanding the meaning

and even hinata watching naruto from afar is framed due her romantics feelings and men consider it the peak of romanticism yet ignore the difference in naruto’s feelings towards them because. hinata didn’t give naruto the verbal acknowledgement (or make it known somehow) until much later when naruto already had a whole bunch of friends and bonds that acknowledged him. but it was sasuke who gave it to him when no one of them had and that’s why it matters more to him compared to the rest

likeee. the question is always “why sasuke? why not xz?” and the answer is so simple. it’s because sasuke was the FIRST (w iruka ofc) and that holds a heavy meaning. if you were starving for food and much later you had a whole meal every day still the one most important to you will be the one you ate when you were starving. the rest are good as well and you cherish them but they aren’t on the same level because they didn’t save you from dying of starvation

Marcille is so funny to me. she's such a bait and switch. when we're first introduced to her you see this cute girl who's totally distraught at everything Laios does and you think she's gonna be the tropey token girl in the party who does the healing and stays out of the fights and has to be the designated Team Mom. but that's not Marcille at all. she's only on healing duty because Falin isn't around. she's a frontline attacker and she's constantly thinking about murder and explosions.

Not gonna lie, I love seeing Dazai be this animated. Truly affected. But also because it’s Chuuya with him he doesn’t feel the need to hide behind a mask as much. He can actually show how bad he thinks things are because that’s his partner.

Honestly even Chuuya is showing more surprise than usual. I love to see it.
