It only took a second after he spotted him across the room for Claudio to cross his arms over his chest and raise his brows in the other’s direction. “Is that how to treat seeing your best friend? Not even a hug?” Mock disapproval on his features as he turned his head away with a ‘hmph’ He was pushing buttons of course always finding a way to get a little rib in there whenever Claudio could. 

Chris made a noise somewhere between a laugh and a snort at the behavior, shaking his head and running a hand through his hair. Fucking Claudio. Never change. He thumped the Swiss man hard on the shoulder before pulling him into a hug. God, it always felt good to see him. “Shut it with your attention-seeking behaviour. That’s not healthy.” He stood back to look Claudio up and down, flashing him a wide grin. “Damn, man. How the hell are you?"

“Wow, has it been that long ago? FCW… but thanks! There would be a problem if I’m still doin’ as good as I did in FCW. I mean, that got me a championship there, but… well, you know.”

“Yeah, think so, you hit main roster not too long after that and then I hit NXT and, well, here we are.  Yeah, I know. Seen that shit for myself. It’s like they don’t even know what world class talent they have but. Nothing new there.”

She laughed softly at the comment about how times she may have seen him in the past, but it never really changed she was happy to see Chris - always would be.  “Now why would I not be happy or excited to see one of the coolest people I have ever had the honor of working with huh?”  She wrapped an arm around the older man’s back in a hug light gesture, smiling at the kiss to the top of her head - a reminder of how much smaller she was.  “I’m still getting all the bookings outside of PWG and still getting under the skin of those who don’t like intergender wrestling - so I suppose I can say it’s all going very very good for me.  Though��� you need to be keeping up with your bookings where are you working next?  Do you know or… “ 

“Coolest... Aww, hell, Candy, you’ve worked with way cooler people ever since we finished up that storyline together, and hell maybe we’ll get that singles match one day, right?” Chris grinned when she said she was still getting under people’s skin. He saw that when they were at PWG together, saw how Candice made them believe whether they were ready to believe or not. And they might as well give up trying not to at this point because she was going nowhere any time soon. “I got a schedule set up on my phone with all the names, dates, and times on them. Too much trouble trying to remember them all off the top of my head,” he admitted. “One good thing about hitting up NOAH despite the day-long flight is that I only work there when I’m over there so it’s a little bit of a break even if the puro dudes see fit to literally knock my head off.”

“Hey, I know I was the reason why all the rumors started because I was literally the  biggest bump on the log about it.   So I had to end the rumors by giving them truth.,   Hey …. so long as you are doing a great job and having a great time after your life  in the E.  Even if you are missed.” 

“Couldn’t have been easy, man, I mean that would’ve been hard for me to face up to, too. Can’t be easy to lose something you love doing, you know? And at least you’re still there, and you’re doing a pretty good job, too. Oh, yeah, couldn’t have a better time, got to wrestle Sabre twice at PWG this year and usually I only see that kid in Japan. Missed? Maybe by a few, but not across the board, not really.”

              “do you? bro, haven’t been following you guys lately. figured i was               just a thing of the past by now. but man, i can’t say i care where your               money is. everyone’s got an opinion and here i am to either prove you               all wrong or i dunno. thinking one of these days you’ll have to swing by               chi-town though, so a couple of bros can catch up. reunite the gold bond               mafia and cause a little bit of trouble.”

“Nah, man, you’ll never be a thing of the past. Ain’t always good things people got to say about you, ain’t gonna lie there, but you still got people talking and you aren’t even in the game anymore. Yeah, I really have to. It’s been a long time since we’ve talked, even longer since we’ve been face to face, and the Gold Bond Mafia... That’s forever.”

“Chris, Chris, Chris,” she bounced on the balls of her feet as he greeted her, laughing softly knowing it hadn’t really been too long, “I think I could say the same about you.”  She took in a deep breath and even nodded quickly, “I mean I think I can say that I feel like a million bucks and I don’t feel like the world is ending around me or whatever.” 

“Damn good to hear it. And good to see you’re still exited to see me after the billionth time.” He hooked an arm around her shoulders and kissed the top of her head, a brotherly gesture if anything. “How’s shit going outside of PWG? I’d keep up if I could but I can barely keep up with my own bookings half the time anymore. It’s just a mess and it’s all over the place.”

“Oh, does it now? Well, the dark side has been treating me pretty damn well. So much more fun being evil than good. And how’ve you been doing, Chris? Still miss seeing ya around backstage.”

“Oh, always, spent a good damn portion of my career being one of the best heels on the indy circuit because of it. Always more fun to do things your way. Well... I mean, better? Back to being treated better, back to getting long matches. Just main evented PWG’s BOLA with Sabre and Bailey so life is going pretty good on my end. How about yours? It’s looked pretty rough out there for you lately.”

“fantastic. how have things been workin’ out for ya?”

“Better than they were before, I can tell you that much.”

“… Yea.  but you know it’s better not to believe the rumors until you know  the horse says it himself?  I mean it’s not too bad at all, chill and talk about  some of the best things in the world?  I’ve heard about that and I can guess  what you are happier over there?” 

“Exactly, man, rumors fly all over the place in the wrestling industry, it’d be ridiculous to believe any of them until you see it for yourself. Ah, well... PWG has its charms, gotta say Evolve is probably the best but, ah, Beyond has JT. Not too bad of a deal after losing that ‘E spot.”

              “nah, just playing with you man anyways. i mean after all, you are               one of the good guys out there. as i said, the coaches want me to be               ready. if they send me in a little early and my ass gets kicked, more               than likely it’ll come down onto them. soon, my brother. soon.”

“You know we got people everywhere placing bets left and right? Ain’t in ROH so much anymore so I dunno about there but Beyond, Evolve, PWG... People trying to figure out if you’re gonna take that first bout or not. Some guys gonna be pretty rich if you do.”

“The one and only Corey Graves.  But it has been a while since we have  seen each other.  Been doing good.  Enjoying the retired life.  I mean as  much as a 30 something can” 

“Yeah, I fuckin... I heard about that, man, that’s some rough shit, didn’t really believe the rumors when I heard them but then you announced it yourself. Color commentary ain’t too bad? I’m off and on at PWG, I’ve enjoyed it.”

             “even after all these years, i’m still your man. kinda brings a tear to my             eye. but the training, it’s uhh ━ it’s going? i dunno man, just waiting for             the go ahead from the trainers. i’d say it’s good though. ‘sup with you?”

“Of course you are, you think any length of time gonna change that friendship? Nah, never. Yeah, I keep hearing them pushing the date back on you or something? What’s going on there?”
