In some ways, maybe Glinda is more like Elsa than Elphaba is.
Glinda is the one who says: conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know.
Just to make you feel worse: Glinda never had the courage — or the ability — to let it go.

All of Glinda’s songs express fake emotions and pretense.
She only shows her true feelings and desires when she sings with Elphaba.
"Popular," as her theme song, is more like a weapon she must wield, rather than something she truly wants.
(Describing Popular as a weapon rather than a desire is a bit of a way to beautify Glinda — it downplays her vanity and ambition.)
In What Is This Feeling, even though she doesn’t name the feeling correctly, she still expresses and describes what she’s genuinely feeling.
In Defying Gravity, she sings about the desire to fly with Elphaba. It’s the song where she voices what she wants — and also the one where she begins to give it up.
I'm gonna cry in my bed.

I think the mark of a truly successful Glinda actress is this:
She makes the audience hate Glinda…
until they realize that no one hates Glinda more than Glinda herself.

POV: Elphaba, trying to show commitment—platonically.
Elphaba: "I’ll take care of the most important job at your wedding. (maid of honor)
Glinda: (gasps, eyes shimmering)
(Is this a proposal...? Finally?)
"Yes!"
Fiyero: "I’m… not entirely sure they’ve reached the same conclusion."
