"sorry. didn't really mean to come off that much. just been a little hard these past few days." etsu couldn't help but let her eyes linger upon him. not checking him out but more admiring him. he seemed to be a warm and inviting person; charismatic. from the company he kept, she could tell he attracted all sorts around him. a genuine person and that was where his charm was.

that was when she jolted from her head and then she chuckled. "don't worry about getting me a drink. you're the first person in a while that has approached me without trying to get with me." she was a blunt woman and this situation was no different. "just treat it as thanks for keeping me company, hm? consider it even. order what you'd like!"

she took a sip of her own drink before he asked his question. "just work things. can't really talk about it. confidentiality and all that. it's just been rough. was hoping to get some time away to not think of it. you like singing? maybe we can do karaoke while we're here? takes the mind off things."

"Was enough for me to notice when I saw you.." There was a small smile to him. A rubbing of his neck. Part of him did look concerned when she seems rather focused inward. He was no stranger to when his friends were usually in a pensive mood and needed an ear lent. Maybe he could try with her. "Figured it couldn't hurt to ask and lend and ear for you. Name's Kasuga, by the way! Ichiban Kasuga!" It was then he offered her a much more bright smile that was full of warmth. He still took the moment to sit on one of the stools that was besides her. He blinked when he had made mention offering to pay for drinks. "What? You offering? Ah, wow! I'd appreciate that alot actually." There was a nod to him. "Tell you what, let me offer to get you a drink return okay? Just so we are both even! Give us time to chat while we enjoy the drinks, yeah?" Ichiban didn't want to just be on the receiving end when he could very easily be the giving type to make sure that the woman's offer was reciprocated with his own in gratitude. "Saw that you were looking a little tense. You alright?"

she would be lying to herself if she didn't think seeing him was quite the sight to behold. there was quite a bit more she saw of him last night--in their unexpected romp. there was also that warmth and care there, as well. there had been a lot the both went through together and apart. the feelings she had were cultured from those moments. mostly started with that incident awhile back. the one that he saved her from.

"i'll make you something filling, then. nothing too fancy but definitely filling." her voice went a bit low as her arms wrapped around him. enjoying that warm embrace and how he let it linger for a bit. when they parted, she wished she could pull him back, but she didn't know what his plans were for the day and he didn't want to hold him up too much.

"slept perfect, actually. what about you?" all she remembered afterwards was the both of them cuddled up and then it was morning. she must've been more tired than she thought. he probably had been, as well.

Yagami himself had been without a shirt and just walking around her place with just his shorts. To say last night was a wild one would be understated. Lot of pent of emotions that went towards each other. Rest that both of them needed after some long days. He didn't know how he got someone like Lady as a woman to see and explore these feelings with. But it wasn't something he wasn't shying away from. More so since he felt the same.

"Yeah, I think I would actually. No need to get too fancy with what you wanna make. Sure what you have will be good." Yagami did approach the woman, the subtle looks that he had checking out the woman barely clothed was a treat. As were the flashes of memories of the night before popping fresh in his mind. He had closed the distance in order to give Lady a warm embrace that lingered. Using that as a good excuse to hold her just for a tad bit before she had to leave. "Sleep okay?" After the night we had? He thought. He still was wrapping around the emotions Lady had and they were emotions that were well welcomed.

brown eyes shifted up to look at him. their travels had been harsh and she was ready to get some sleep. to say she was weak was an understatement. she was absolutely exhausted but she was sure he was, too. honestly, she hadn't gotten much sleep out in the wilds of skyrim. not to say she didn't like roughing it, she just preferred an actual bed when it came to getting restful sleep. enora was unsure how far they were from a settlement. was it dragon bridge or was it rorikstead? she couldn't remember.

the exhaustion was taking hold, fast.

"alright. i trust you. i just hope i can hold out for a bit longer so you don't have to resort to anything drastic.."

bjorn had become one of the most important people in her life. probably one of the only nords to not look at her as an enemy. she was an altmer and most people look at her as if she is judging them. altmers don't have the best reputation. speaking to others as if they are below them while the others are thalmor.

eugh. thalmor.

lily couldn't stand them. the aldmeri dominion could suck a big fat one for all she cared. they were the reason she and her family wasn't safe any longer. luckily, her family was in cyrodiil and she didn't have to worry about them for the time being. however, she felt like she was being hunted constantly by them within skyrim.

that was another thought for another day. she didn't want to think about it right now. bjorn and her were spending time together.

"i know. i can't thank you enough for being the one to ground me when i get a little heated.." mostly when it came to that same group of people. her hand moved and took his with a smile. her hood was still up as she usually kept it up even in private company.

how was this so nerve-wracking? she had spent a lot of time around higher ups and people that were obviously in positions of power. that was something she was used to but being here with him was.. making her nerves vibrate. it wasn't a bad thing as she wanted this with him, but things kind of changed rather quickly between the two.

she had confessed her love to him and the next thing she knew, they were making plans for a date. an actual date. had she ever been on one of those with someone she had romantic interest in? no. not at all. she never felt this way for someone before. he was the first and she honestly planned for him to be the last.

if anyone heard her say that this early, they would likely call her crazy. tell her she was going too fast. say there were other men out there but she had no interest in those other men. she wanted dante and that was evident when she busted through to comfort zone to confess how she felt about him. things could have went wrong but it was obviously mutual.

a big thing for her is that he accepted her. the prosthetic wasn't a problem and it obviously didn't mess with her ability to fend for herself and others around her. he helped her with it and that spoke volumes more than words could.

that was why she was nervous. he meant a lot to her and she didn't want to screw anything up.

"you'll have to forgive me. i'm not used to this sort of thing." from how it seemed, neither was he. though, he looked to be relaxed. this shouldn't feel any different than when they went out before. yet, this was as boyfriend and girlfriend and not just friends. you don't have to impress him or be anything you're not. he cares about the real you. no need to hide it, idiot. he's obviously into you if you are both on a date together. an actual date!

she felt like a high school girl on a date with her crush from school. obviously, they weren't. they were both grown--as a matter of fact, he was older than her. not by much and she had no qualms with that.

"it's not a bad thing. i understand, jarrel. i didn't exactly have a home for a bit with.. everything with my parents. i was lucky finding a place. it isn't the best but it's enough for me and i am glad i was able to give you shelter. wouldn't want anyone else living with me." there's a smile on her face as she moves close to him. she knew he didn't have much and she might have spent some extra money on clothes and things for him. so he could be comfortable.

"a roof over your head and food in your stomach every day. well, except for the days where you are doing contracts. i know how they can be." they were both young and fit and got shit done when the situation called for it. jarrel had expressed so much love to her that she didn't want to be with anyone else. couldn't imagine being with anyone else, either.

"maybe we'll be able to get into a better place once i get the money together. don't plan on staying in the rundown apartment forever, you know?"

Ichiban was too busy trying to stifle his chuckle as he was in the booth with Etsu as they were enjoying their well... 'business' date as she so soundly chirped to him early. "Careful saying that part out loud. That sounds a little too bold for the workplace. HR has eyes and ears you know." Ichiban matching the more rehearsed corporate tone that he remembers some of shareholders spoke when he had to step in for Eri! - Ichiban to Etsu

it might have been called a 'business' date, but she just wanted to catch him when she was getting off work. just the two of them enjoying some good food while they were cleaned up. acting as if they were have a meeting but she couldn't keep a straight face. ichiban always made things more fun when he was around. this is why she fell for him. he was himself and that is all she wanted.

there was a giggle that sounded out as she listened to him.

"you are too good at that, ichi-kun. you are too adorable." she smiled brightly and moved to take one of his hands. "i'm glad i talked you into this. nice dinner and us just being silly. hm.. i think i might order some dessert. you want something, dear?"

the night before had been.. eventful, to say the least. a bit of drinking and conversation had led to something unexpected between the two. though, she was not complaining at all. he had saved her and brought her immense comfort after everything that had happened. she didn't want to let him go just yet. wanted him to get some rest in a home rather than go back to his office. at least, for a little bit.

she, truthfully, was barely clothed as she relaxed on the couch she had. her eyes shifted to him and she smiled a bit.

"would you be alright with breakfast? could make it myself or we can go somewhere?" she wasn't super familiar with a traditional japanese breakfast or anything, but she was willing to try.

so, as i like to be as transparent as possible with people, if i am not quite here.. this is why.

basically we were given the worst news yesterday. while we were hoping the lump on our cat's side was a chronic granuloma (basically an abcess), it turned out to be feline injection-site sarcoma. she has cancer. for those that aren't familiar with this, it's basically a thing that can happen when cats are given their vaccines (no, vaccines aren't bad. it's a problem with the injection-site and not the vaccine itself). it basically was hibernating in her body. they gave us anywhere from 2 more weeks to a month as it's very aggressive and her quality of life could deteriorate rapidly. so far, she's normal and acting like a heathen like she usually does. we are holding out hope that we will have a bit longer than a month at least to spend with her.

it's basically just making sure she's comfortable until the inevitable. she's only six years old. this sucks more than anything but all we can do is make sure she eats, drink, uses the bathroom, and is comfortable. i have a friend helping me out with the quality of life checklist.

this year sucks ass and i hate it but i'm surviving and powering through this.
