OK but like, I would love to have the option to use <pre> or <code> tags in tumblr posts literally at all in any way. It would be insanely useful for formatting all sorts of things properly, including and especially when discussing code.

As it stands right now, its incredibly confusing for people new to Tumblr like me who think they can somehow do, for example, preformatted text via <pre> tags (almost any google result about post formatting on Tumblr says you can) only to have it not work. Especially when any attempt at searching for why it doesn't work only produced results about how it should.

It took an awkwardly long time for me, and I imagine others new to Tumblr as well, to realize that the NPF post format is newer and that there used to be an older post format that did support, as far as I can tell, far more customization than Tumblr allows today.

I can even understand how the NPF format solved a lot of issues on Tumblr. I genuinely like being able to mix different types of post blocks within the same post. What I don't like is that apparently switching over to this new format means we are now completely unable to use basic formatting tags like <pre>, <sup>, and <sub>.

At least, I'm assuming that's why we can't. I can't actually find documentation anywhere explaining it and am forced to assume.

You know what would be really great? A new NPF block type for code (or other monospaced material). Roughly like Markdown triple backquotes (```) (and as the code or pre element in HTML). Don't even need syntax highlighting (though I wouldn't say no to it), just the monospace, literal behavior is fine. Inline monospace, like single backquotes in MD would be cool to, but the block is more important IMO.

Very useful for discussing code in general, also for e..g. talking about tumblr themes and such on tumblr.

It would be cool! Very cool indeed. In fact, we actually discussed it in the @labs group, but put it fairly low on our priority list because we are not convinced that many people would use it. 

In other words: it would be great, but it’s not worth the time right now when there are so many other things to work on. Never say never, however.

Tumblr makes sense to me bc if i see something i like i get excited and hit the button to show other people and theres no weird unspoken social conventions my autistic brain doesnt understand. I can literally sit here and reblog 150 niche shitposts about harvest mice in an hour just bc they make me happy and i dont have to explain myself to anyone and i'll actually *gain* followers instead of just being called weird and downvoted or whatever its so cool

This isn’t saying you shouldn’t write bad or sad stories or anything, but from Gaster’s perspective as a character in those stories of course he’d want “happy” endings, haha.

But anyway, I kept telling you guys that when Handplates was over I would tell you. Well… here we are. After seven long years, here we are.

When I started I never thought I’d make it. To be honest, it doesn’t feel real to me at all. My brain still expects to do another page in about two weeks as it always does. I assume it’ll take a while to sink in. There’s a lot to say but this post is already incredibly long (sorry), so it’s probably suited to its own post.

But for all of you out there who read this story, whether you were there from the beginning or just came in now, thank you so much. And for all of you that were inspired by this comic, who created things for it, who blessed me with so many amazing gifts of art and fic and music and dubs and videos and so much more… I don’t know how to thank you enough. I never dreamed that an idle idea could have come this far or had such an impact on my life and so many people, but it did.

I kind of feel at a loss for words… again it’s very surreal. But I will say that Gaster wondering whether the kid is an actual human or not has an unintended level to it since my avatar is a fox but it’s TOO LATE NOW I GUESS lol.

Reasons I believe David is either gay or has a Masc preference

He’s the only lost boy who didn’t immediately flirt w/ Maria (worker at video store)

The man doesn’t even glance at her

Literally every scene with Michael is him flirting with him

If he’s not flirting he’s asking Michael to join him

even after Marko’s death, he’s still pleading with Michael to join, knowing he played a role in his brothers death

I’m bringing up the flying fight scene bc Michael just looks pissed and David seems kinda into it

He let Michael get away with punching him even though the officer was murdered for just restraining him

Yes I know max probably told him not to kill Sam or Michael, but he didn’t even throw a punch or let one of the others punch him back

Anytime Michael grabs at his shirt or gets close to him he smirks

The movie was made in the 80s and I think vampirism symbolizes the AIDS epidemic of the time, which was targeted as a “gay” disease

He tends to treat Michael how many other vampire medias show a male vampire treating the female love interest

When Star gets on the back of his bike after Michael chases her, he smiles as soon as he noticed Michael looking in his direction, even though it wasn’t aimed at him

In the 80s, having a single earring was considered gay, he & the other lost boys only have one

Again with vampirism= queer, Michael gets 1 ear piercing after becoming half

He stares at Michael as he lets go and falls at the bridge

I know ppl think he and Star had a thing, but I don’t at all

The scene most ppl get this idea from is when Star is about to leave with Michael, and he sternly calls her to his bike

I see this as protectiveness of his pack mate and jealously that she has captured Michaels interest

Other than that scene, there is no indication that David (or the 3 others) are/ have dated Star, even though she is the only female in the group

All four males sleep close together, meanwhile Star and Laddie sleep in a separate room, even though it would be very possible to bring sleeping things like blankets, pillows, and if they put in some effort a mattress

I think this is bc the back room they sleep in is a couple bedroom, and Star and laddie don’t fit the criteria

The boys are very protective of laddie and Star, so I don’t see why else they would let them sleep in a part of the cave where they can’t protect them in the day

I’m mentioning the tension between him and Michael again bc THERE IS NO STRAIGHT EXPLANATION FOR THE WAY THOSE TWO LOOK AT/ ACT AROUND EACHOTHER

When he’s messing with Michael’s food at the cave and Star tells him to stop, he grin drops, which I believe is bc she interrupted what he saw as playful banter/ flirting (here)
