backstory:

• born to a military father and a nurse mother, ash was raised with high expectations and basically his whole life planned ahead of him. perfect daughter, perfect hero, perfect student

• as many other kids, ash was injected with v as a baby, he grew up to control metal, but for a few days he thought he was like psychics on tv when he accidentally bent a spoon

• starting 15, ash joined a teen force supe team, debuting to public as magnet girl. cute, nerdy and always worried at all the public events, tv shows and photoshoots

• while he kept that sweet public persona, behind closed curtains ash grew confused, doubtful, resentful. he wasn't helping people, he wasn't making a change, he was only a puppet on a string for his parents and for vought, and even if he didn't know much about vought inner working yet, it felt shady to him. he couldn't keep up with his training, study and public appearances, the image in the mirror whenever he looked in it began to look foreign

• ofc he was denied transition when he came out about it, some bullshit tiny font in the contract prohibiting him from making major changes without consulting PR team, and one of america sweethearts coming out as a trans man would've been a pr nightmare for vought back then

• unable to handle the job pressure, desperate to do anything to cut contact both with his family and vought, at 19 ash ran off with some money he got access to after turning adult. magnet girl was no more, assumed dead, conspiracy theories about his disappearance growing and spreading

• ash buzzed his hair, began couch hopping, never staying at one crash pad for long because of safety concerns, he participated in underground fights for money to spend on back alley testosterone, rent and bodmods

• he found himself an apartment to rent, a bodmod studio to work at, with plans to open his own eventually, he's got a doberman puppy from a shelter and plants often dying of neglect

• ash knows where to go when one needs to lay low, he knows safe houses and crash pads. that's how he's met frenchie and eventually the rest of the boys, a few months before butcher dragged hughie in. he didn't tell anyone he's a supe, he wanted to have a normal life and get back at vought.

• at first he clashed with butcher a lot because of their personalities, the will-they-won't-they type of clash. everyone could see the chemistry between them, but they kept denying it.

• as they warmed up to each other and began to trust one another, ash accidentally revealed himself as a supe, causing him to promptly be called a "superficial and self-righteous lying cunt", as for now ash and butcher's relationships are best described as constant bickering, ash being a brat, parking lot fights and occasional hatefuck 🤍

extra:

• while ash has extensive self-regeneration, he doesn't have impenetrable skin like some other supes. his healing factor causes him to be a bit of a sucker for pain

• currently ash has 23 piercings – a lot in his ears, snake bites, septum, double bridge and nipples; he has tattoo sleeves and tattoos on his chest – two scorpions over his top surgery scars; and he has split tongue

• while ash might appear as brash due to him being unapologetic and having zero to none filter, he's a very caring person as soon as he considers you a friend, he has a soft spot for animals and kids

• ash needs attention to survive, he's used to the spotlight and he often feels lonely, he lives physical contact and friendly flirt

• he's a heavyweight when it comes to any substances, it's almost impossible to get him drunk, even if he tries

• he's good at cooking, had to learn since he began living on his own and instant ramens weren't cutting it anymore 🤍

• he's met homelander back as a part of teen force, he easily recognized a fake smile, the same he always put on himself
