The outbreak of this pandemic has caused people to turn to blame as we all watch the world burn around us from our homes. The world is divided in many ideological differences such as politics, race, religion, and more. This can cause hatred between people instead of positivity which is what we all need right now.

Not only being locked inside your house during quarantine, but also watching the news in fear can really trigger people to relapse in addictions. In addition to drug abuse mental health disorders may also come back as people are stressed and isolated. The loss of support systems, programs, and relationships have a great effect on these people struggling.

Everyone is stressed and scared about what is to come during this pandemic. Anyone can be effected by this deadly disease, yet the people who are really concerned are people with autoimmune disorders or comprised immune systems. Their risk of getting coronavirus is much higher and much harder to survive.

Although this is extremely scary to think that prisoners can get released early, it is saving lives of many people including the guards, staff, and prisoners as well. The virus is spreading very quickly through prison populations around the country. It is a strategic process when deciding who to release. They usually try to pick inmates with bails or parole, yet the first inmate released from a Florida authority committed a murder very shortly after being let out. Prosecutors have to make hard decisions on what low-risk inmates can be let out in order to keep people safe from the virus.

With how crazy this pandemic has been, a search for a vaccine is in full effect and they are working as fast as they can to test one and get it out to the public. There is great hope that a vaccine will be ready to test this fall. Other technology is also being thought of such as an app that creates “intelligent” physical distancing. The WHO has launched a global trial that tests four different treatments including one drug that was originally tested to treat Ebola. This news gives everyone hope that soon it will be over.

It has been proven that Covid-19 death rates are much higher in African-American and Latino races. This has been a fact due to the “decades of structural racism, political exploitation, and economic exclusion” that has made up the health and wealth disparities in black communities.
The speech made by General Jerome Adams as administered by The White House made clear assumptions on racist ideas that have been around for decades. Victim-blaming, as well as suggesting that alcohol and drug abuse is voluntary, were just the beginning. Poor black and brown communities are constantly exposed to pollution and this is the underlying reason they are affected more. Environmental racism is very much real and still apparent today.

Event though the coronavirus has brought up much tragedy over the past few months, it is incredible how there is still some light in the dark. The pandemic has shut us all into our homes, only leaving to buy essential items. Due to this, the environment is thriving. With factories shut down and less pollution being put out, the air quality is increasing dramatically.
In countries such as Japan the animals are starting to roam around the urban streets as they are not inhabited by busy people anymore.
With everything that is happening, China and Vietnam have decided to plan a ban on the wildlife trade. This also includes the consumption of wild animals. Populations such as rhinoceros, elephants, crocodiles, tigers, turtles, and pangolins can now safely thrive without threat.

People who have scheduled weddings during the coronavirus pandemic have had to rethink all of their details and downscale their weddings to much much more simpler ideas. It’s unfortunate, but it makes us remember the real reason for marriage. It’s about celebrating love and it doesn’t have to be fancy and elaborate to be perfect. The pandemic is changing how we live our daily lives and once this is over maybe we will continue to adapt this new way of life. This new perspective could stick and encourage other brides to have smaller more intimate weddings.

It’s heartwarming to see people still spread positivity and joy during this pandemic. In New York, one of the epicenters of the Coronavirus pandemic in the U.S., people are sharing music, exercise, dancing, and joy with each other from the rooftops of their apartments. These amazing acts really show how we’re all in this together and need to help and support each other through these tough times.
Some young New Yorkers are sharing their drawings and positive messages with each other in the windows. It’s hard to raise a child during this pandemic, so it’s wonderful to share messages such as this with these children. It shows that there is still good out there and we can still look forward to when this will all be over.

Going through this pandemic, we all are sad about missing plans and having to stay home bored. Yet, some people who are really missing out on those one in a lifetime traditions would be the seniors of not only high school but also college. Events such as prom and commencement are being cancelled or postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. It’s really unfortunate that they can’t be celebrated for the amount of hard work they put into school, but some seniors are thinking of creative ways to still celebrate. Girls are still getting dressed up for prom and taking pictures with their families. It’s sad they have to miss these events, but it’s great they’re still enjoying them in a different way.

There are many worries going around such as if Trump will push the elections back, how mail-in ballots could lead to voting fraud, and how people will vote if they can’t go out to vote. As of right now Election Day is scheduled for November 3rd. Sen. Bernie Sanders is voicing concern that people should not be putting their lives in danger to vote. The Democratic National Convention has been pushed back to August 17th. It seems to be very unlikely that the primary will be pushed back, considering the date has not been changed since 1845. A new legislation would have to be passed by Congress.

Many celebrities are taking this time while being quarantined to share with everyone the importance of social distancing. I think this is a great way of encouraging everyone to stay strong and spread love and positivity during these rough times.

President Donald Trump has proposed a 3 phase plan to start reopening businesses again. This is supposed to promote working and shopping so that Americans will not continue to lose their jobs as the economy crashes. There are requirements set in place that must be met before the state can continue to phase 1, but it is up to the governors of each state. The phases start out with allowing larger venues to reopen such as movie theaters and churches. Then it will slowly progress to allowing everyone to roam as long as they are practicing moderate social distancing and good hygiene. Personally I don’t think we are ready for this plan, but states are already beginning to start.

I think it’s irresponsible to start reopening beaches, especially when the pandemic has not reached it’s peak yet. The numbers of infected and deaths are continuing to rise while people are walking on the beaches again. It only took 18 minutes after reopening Jacksonville beach for there to be crowds of people emerging. Even if you prohibit over 50 people from walking on the beach and encouraging a safe distance, there is no way you can contain people. Florida had also been late to closing their beaches during spring break and were frowned upon. Now they’re reopening them too early which is surprising considering Florida had just had at least 25,269 cases of coronavirus and 740 deaths.

Although this pandemic we are currently facing is awful, it’s nice to know that people are joining together with humor to lighten everyone’s mood just a little bit.
The article states, “It’s not only a good way to distract yourself from what’s going on, but it’s also a good way to delight yourself”.
Applications such as twitter, reddit, and tiktok are great platforms to let creators share their jokes for everyone to see and smile.

Most people are constantly thinking about how this disease is affecting everyone physically, yet what about mentally? Being locked inside watching the news 24/7 about rising numbers of deaths and diseased around the world is horrifying. The media is putting out news updates on coronavirus every day and this can psychologically impact many people.
Self-isolation also has a major impact on people. When you’re used to a routine and social interaction on the daily, this switch can cause forms of depression and even PTSD.
