”Huh,” They answer, expression unreadable.
Their face looks blank. Vacant. It’s not the distant, anxiety driven disassociation you’ve gotten used to. It’s an intense, hollow emptiness that seems to have externalized, their eyes bore into the brilliant skies before them, something stirring behind the stare.
It lets out a small chuckle.
“That’s stupid.”
They go silent, once again, the firm gaze gone from their eyes.
The moment passes quickly, and you can’t say for sure if you’d just imagined it.
As Emil is going about their day, someone catches their attention. It's just a person with an eclectic style, probably nothing serious, and yet something makes it hard to focus on anything else.
They can’t help but feel an odd sense of… attraction. Not the way people usually would use the word, no.
Like a star slowly being dragged away by a black hole.
They catch themself staring at the stranger, even approaching them.
“h- Sorry, have I seen you around before?”

spiders getting on your nerves?
Not really. They're more on my walls... Just kidding. If you're asking about the spiders in my house, I've forced them to migrate by regularly cleaning my bedroom, and leaving my more spacious living room corners free. Don't want my dog feeling anxious at bedtime. She loves her space on my bed.
If you're asking about the bug, well. Saw a giant flying cockroach. Haven't seen these in years honestly, they're more myth than real compared to where I came from. I've already called the landlord to fix the window and dealt with that pickle.
I do have to get my mug back later, but... ugh. I'll have to go deal with that tree thing again if I do. Before anyone asks, yes, I did water it, I'm keeping my damn promises to whatever that thing is and keeping it alive.
... For now, at least. Not that I really want to, but... I’d rather keep my promises.

Hello
… Don’t die on me just yet.
(They end up watering it. A promise is a promise, after all.)

"I guess you're right..."
They take a seat on the bench, right next to you. Their hand wrap around the hem of their shirt almost immediately, fiddling with it idly as they stared at the sky.
"... Do you ever wonder about your fate? Like, why things happen to you?"
Its fingers slow down, before hanging dully on their lap. Its shoulders slouch as it looks down at those same hands. It looks defeated.
"Sometimes... things happen, and you wonder what you did to deserve it. Like, if you've done something wrong that you didn't know, but just because of your ignorance, you've been doomed to some fate that you never really had a say in. But you're still the one to blame."
The silence doesn't drag on for long. They shift their position to be more comfortable, leaning their back on the bench.
"... Sorry. That was a weird question."

It sighs, leaning on the doorway leading to the back of the apartment, idly noting Bonnie circling around its feet. She sometimes even went up to Darrien, who doesn’t seem to mind.
The tree sways in its corner, barely visible behind some bushes. It looks somewhat healthy, the leaves trembling in the slight breeze. The edges of some of them have yellowed. The soil feels dry around it. It will die if left alone like this.
"It... ugh, I think it's in my mind? I don't really know. I don't think any of those... messages that show up in my inbox or email are real or even physical.”
They rub their eyes, a little wearied by the thought. The rounded glasses that sat on their face did little to conceal the tiredness and anxiety behind it.
“They never sound or look real, and you can always- sorry, I can always tell that they're from that thing."
Emil knocks on the door to the flower shop, before slipping in, fiddling with the hem of their shirt.
“… Hey, odd question. Do you know anything about… weird plants…? Like, the kind that you want to keep out?”
It looks worse for wear. It doesn’t look like it’d slept well.
“I, uh… didn’t know who to ask about this.”
[There's a short man with curly ginger hair in the corner, arranging some sunflowers in a crate labeled accordingly. He looks up as the little bell on the door rings and waves.]
"Welcome in!"
[This must be Darrien. He stands, dusting himself off, and walks over when it mentions "weird plants".]
"Oh, no, it's fine. I do know a bit, actually. Why're you asking?"

(The sapling seems somewhat healthy. Its leaves tremble in the wind. The edges of some of them have yellowed. The ground around the plant is dry.)
ple ase
(They stare at it from the doorway, coldly. Darrien is in the foreground, examining the sapling. Their lips curl into a frown, a long rooted resentment clouding their judgement.)
(It won’t be until afterwards they realize how wrong they were acting.)

Ugh. Sorry, got mad at the bug (bugs?) that made me lose my favorite mug. And break the window.
They're fucking back again, those bastards. I'm going to find them and rip them apart, limb by limb.

(The tree stands in a bright corner. It is hard to notice, but it is definitely there. The small, thin sapling rustles quietly in the wind, peaceful in its appearance.)
I-I didn't see that there before... Ueghghiehg-
I'm... just going to ignore that.

Emil opens the door, a sliver of annoyance in their voice that quickly fades into surprise and warmth.
“Look, I don't need any- Oh! Hello Darrien! I'm surprised you're here already, huh. Welcome in, I suppose?? Do mind my dog, Bonnie. She can get a bit excited meeting new people.”
It doesn't remember mentioning its address, but it's been rather forgetful before. Maybe they'd mentioned it during conversation and had forgotten.
“I'm... assuming you've looked outside already. As you can pretty obviously tell, I do not have a tree outside my apartment. Nor a birch one, for that matter."
The outside of the apartment is rather bare, with a few bushes and some spotty grass growing. There are no signs of tree sprouts growing.
Except one small sapling.
Emil knocks on the door to the flower shop, before slipping in, fiddling with the hem of their shirt.
“… Hey, odd question. Do you know anything about… weird plants…? Like, the kind that you want to keep out?”

ok- i did some digging. the records are kinda spotty, and it looks like some of it was locked behind a paywall.
i did find that twosun was created in 1956, and primarily made electronics. mostly stuff like calculators and personal computers later on. i couldn't find anything about them selling a security system at all. i don't think they even made cameras at all.
additionally, the company seems to just have straight up disappeared around 1975. i couldn't find any record of them having existed past then, and there's no record of a merger or a rebrand that i could find.
-🦎
Thank you so much. I tried to search some stuff up myself after I got home, but I couldn't find anything else besides what you have here. I did figure out they were located way south from here, not even close to the province I live in.
It kind of spooks me that they had a manual for a security system that they never produced, but it could just be a demo version they held onto? Doesn't explain how this random postal office got hold of it though. Ugh.
What's up with all these companies disappearing?? Is it too much to just ask for a normal answer? Makes my head hurt.
