We've normalised putting our real selves so much online because "otherwise we don't know who could be a creep" that corporations feel SO safe and sound asking us for our IDs, shoving fucking face recognition and age assumptions algorithms down our throats. Because now kids aren't taught by older kids to lie on the internet, adults aren't infusing them with the Fear Of The Big Bad Internet like they did with us, nobody is creating an internet persona anymore because we normalised selling ourselves out to every social media ever.

"But how will we know if you're a bad person" you cannot! You simply!! Cannot!!! Can you immediately tell if a stranger is a danger to society?? If you think you can you are wrong and will most likely be sending an innocent to jail and your kid into a confessional. The big truth about the internet has and should always be that you cannot know who's on the other side of the screen and you gotta be weary. That's it. No you shouldn't "try and make it safer for the kids" by enforcing id identification on everyone because NO corporation is doing that to protect the kids, they're doing it to track down who they might think is the most undesirable and shut them up.
