So, I’m rewatching all of the show so I can start my prediction posts for S5. My parents, who have never seen the show, are watching it with me.

I honestly wasn’t going to make any posts about it because I didn’t think anything shocking would happen.

But.

We just watched the van scene. And my dad says, I kid you not, “Mike should have said he feels the same to Will. Will really looks at him like a best friend. And we all know you feel the same, Mike.” And the look my mom gave my dad and then me. I’M DYING.

She knows. And I’m dying cuz my dad SAW that Mike felt the same for Will as what Will was saying in the van. This is hilarious.

Now I can’t wait to see their reaction to the Mike love confession in Ep9.

I'm sick of the constant refrain from mainstream ST fans who say puritanical nonsense like: “It's gross that people ship Byler when they're two kids."

And yet people have been shipping Milkvan since Season 1 when they were 12. When Milkvan kissed in S1 it was considered "cute."

People shipped Lucas and Max since Season 2 when they were 13, and again squealed over them dancing together and them kissing. And of course no one had a word to say about Dustin and Susie being together at 14 in Season 3.

But no, apparently it's a problem when Will (who just turned 15 in Season 4) is confirmed to have feelings for his best friend.

Not to mention in Season 5 all the kid cast will be 16. You know roughly the age Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan were in Season 1/2. And no one bats an eye at Nancy and Steve making out and even having sex, but the idea of people wanting Mike and Will to even kiss is "too much."

I'm so over the double standards. It's homophobia plain and simple.

Mike and El’s Relationship gets worse the longer her hair gets

As El’s hair gets longer he likely finds it harder to project his feelings for Will onto Eleven.

In fact when her hair is at her longest Mike is unable to tell her that he loves her.

Only after El’s hair is shaved off (+a lot of encouragement from Will) is he able to tell her that he loves her. In the first season of the show, El is mistaken for a boy, and Hopper asks if it could’ve been Will.

If that’s not gay then idk what is ;-;
