I have off today, but here I am with first world problem after first world problem. First, I got landed with the neighbour’s kids for the afternoon, so I took them to Asda to pick up one of those £20 inflatable pools, but they were sold out so I had to settle for a smaller £12 one. That’s two injustices already. Anyway, got home and realised it doesn’t come with a pump, and apparently our foot pump is broken, so I’m having to blow the fucking thing up with a bike bump. Third injustice. Then comes the other neighbour peering over the fence and saying, “You need a foot pump for that.”

Thanks, Susan, that’s really fucking helpful, if only I’d thought of that.

If anyone feels like bringing over a foot pump and inflating this shitty pool for me, do it. Not that the sun’s even out anymore. The kids have been crying for about two hours now. I need this pool up, I need to shut them up.

The job was awful. It was sitting at a desk all day and I couldn’t take it any longer so I stopped going. I’m still going to help you with the bills, it’s not like I’m not looking for another job. Dad didn’t give a rat that I moved here, he wanted me out of the house and I’m sure he’ll be thrilled when you call and tell him I got fired. Like Im going to tell dad that you got fired, Im not an asshole like that when I stood up for you and told him that you got potential. What about the drunks going into that room? I don’t feel right knowing my daughter’s in a bedroom like dog would be while Im having a good time downstairs. Thank you, but I’ll see if I can find a babysitter for her.

You’d think that after six months of living here in Gradian, I’d start to get used to the differences between here and home… But yesterday, when I was on shift, somebody asked for ketchup and salad cream so that they could make seafood sauce. They wanted to put it on their fries– sorry, chips. I’ve never been more confused about anything in my entire life. Does honey mustard not exist on this side of the Atlantic? What is the normal thing to put on chips, here?

You know, I never really asked myself that until now. I thought it was a custom that everywhere has honey mustard but yet. I gotta check the pub for this now.

I would mash those two up, since both of them are my favorite but nothing says I can’t be Captain America and Batman, which I did. Yeah, they’re gonna stay a few more days. They were friends with Ashley and I when we were younger and I kept the friendships going.

Today has been one of the better days I’ve had all month. Including having some friends in town from Chicago, seeing Sawyer smile and laughing about old memories with the guys. I hope everyone has a great day today.
