“I wanted to throw it out, i really did. But at the same time this stupid rug is what makes this place yours.” she placed a soft kiss to his chin “exactly and the queen is the head of the house.” Elin winked playfully and wrapped her arms around his waist as she swayed back and forth “you control everything outside of this place, but i call the shots here.” she whispered before kissing him softly.

Elin stood in front of Kai with her hands on her hips as she watched him look at the rug “hey, i do hate the rug but i knew how upset you were and i didn’t like that. I also knew it was my fault so i had to fix things.” she smiled feeling him sway with her “of course, it just means that I get the throne back. I’m officially the head of this household again.”

Kai was being soft for the first time in a long time and he didn’t know why it was just a dumb rug that got to him but he was happy that Elin cared enough to fix it even though she hated it so much. “I would have thought that you just would have gotten rid of it. Which is why I will never be fullly convinced that you hate it as much as you say you do. And wait… who says you are the head of the house? sorry, babe, but that is still me. I’m the king around here and you are my queen.”

Elin stood in front of Kai with her hands on her hips as she watched him look at the rug “hey, i do hate the rug but i knew how upset you were and i didn’t like that. I also knew it was my fault so i had to fix things.” she smiled feeling him sway with her “of course, it just means that I get the throne back. I’m officially the head of this household again.”

Elin laughed quietly “Babe, I’m not going to jump out and scare you, just sit down.” she moved towards the center of the living room “you’re right, it’s another bunny. I doubt she ate your sock, it’s probably in my room.” Elin unfolded the rug and held it open “okay…open your eyes!” she said cheerfully.

Even with his eyes closed Kai could feel the girl moving around her, and his patience was wearing thin. “Elin. I am going to deal with this surprise but I hate them. Just remember that.” He stated before opening his eyes and looking around until finding the rug on the floor only followed by his hidden smirk. “Well, Look at that! My rug. And here you’ve been telling me you hated it all this time.” He said turning to the girl and pulling her close moving over to the rug in an almost swaying dance style. “Thank you, babe.”

Elin laughed quietly “Babe, I’m not going to jump out and scare you, just sit down.” she moved towards the center of the living room “you’re right, it’s another bunny. I doubt she ate your sock, it’s probably in my room.” Elin unfolded the rug and held it open “okay...open your eyes!” she said cheerfully.

Elin had been waiting for what seemed like weeks for Kai’s favorite rug to get fixed. It was her bunny who had ruined it and she was doing to do everything in her power to get it fixed. She let Kai think it was ruined because she wanted to surprise him. She had gotten a call that the rug was ready to be picked up, she quickly headed across town to the small shop and picked up the rug before returning home again. Of course Kai had beaten her home so she wasn’t able to lay the rug out and surprise him. “Babe…” she called out from the front door “go to the living room and sit down, close your eyes. I have a surprise for you.”

Kai rolled out of bed with a groan as he could hear his name. Moving out into the hallway cautiously he never knew what to expect with Elin but he also knew to never go against doing what she says. “Hun, I don’t know what the hell you’re doing but please tell me you aren’t going to jump out at me or something.” He said closing his eyes and moving to the living room. “You aren’t going to bring me another one of those bunnies are you because one is enough, alright? I’m pretty sure she ate one of my socks.”

“You wouldn’t dare do that! Speaking of rugs, i might have found you a new one.” she said with a smirk, she knew that his was being fixed but she wasn’t going to tell him that just yet. “Your girlfriend sounds like a total bitch.” she let a small laugh and moved her fingers along his neck slowly “no im not pressing the bunny on your i just know that deep down you love her.”

Elin shook her head “well until your better and you actually come after me I’m going to keep calling you a baby.” she smirked and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him closer to her. “See, isn’t this better than laying on that stupid couch all by yourself?” she laughed softly as her fingers moved through his hair slowly. “The next best thing would be to have our cute little bunny with us.”

“I’ll get you back for it. Just watch. I’ll get more rugs and just nail them to your walls.” He said. His body was leaning against her and he nodded. “Yeah, but don’t tell my girl friend that, she will just rub it in my face.” Kai rolled his eyes, you still are going to press that bunny on me aren’t you?”

Elin shook her head “well until your better and you actually come after me I’m going to keep calling you a baby.” she smirked and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him closer to her. “See, isn’t this better than laying on that stupid couch all by yourself?” she laughed softly as her fingers moved through his hair slowly. “The next best thing would be to have our cute little bunny with us.”

Elin thought about it for a moment and shrugged “yes, i guess in some weird way that’s exactly what I’m saying. For once i feel like i have a little power over you. I like seeing you vulnerable.” she knew how screwed up that sounded but it was the truth and she knew only Kai would be able to understand that. “You’re this macho man all the time and it’s nice to see that every now and then you’re a fragile and in need of my assistance.”

“Well, don’t get used to it, babe.” He groaned. He would fight her on how powerful he was but with the feeling he was having there was no way he’d win. “I’m going to be feeling better any minute and I’ll come after you for calling me a baby.” He said with a smirk. Kai pulled his body up and held out his arms, maybe he was just giving into her or the medicine was working because all he wanted was for her to hold him. He even gave her a pout.

Elin thought about it for a moment and shrugged “yes, i guess in some weird way that’s exactly what I’m saying. For once i feel like i have a little power over you. “I don’t see how any of this is pleasant for you.” It was selfish of Kai to practically admit he’d never want to take care of someone sick but he figured Elin would just know better of him. “Is this a weird way of telling me you like watching me mope around miserably?”

Elin stood next to the bed and shook her head as Kai spoke “i know i wanted to take care of you but how often do you mope around the house? So I’m going to call you a baby because it’s probably the only time I’ll get to do it.” she raised an eyebrow before sitting down next to him.

elinrossi:

“I always expect you to be an asshole, that’s the one thing your good at.” She couldn’t help but laugh a little “i don’t think you’ll ever surprise me by being nice, if you did it would be the end of the world.” she kissed the top of his head and jumped out of the bed “that’s my que I’m guessing.” she spoke as she made her way into the kitchen. After a few minutes of heating up the soup she made her way back into her bedroom, a tray of soup, orange juice and medicines in hand. “Anything else you need, you big baby of mine?”

“It’s kid of a gift at this point. I��m pretty sure everyone I know only tolerates me because they work for me and I pay them.” He shrugged. Kai never cared who disliked him. He sat up when she was bringing back the food and pouted. “You are the one who wanted to take care of me, it’s not fair that you call me a baby.”

“I always expect you to be an asshole, that’s the one thing your good at.” She couldn’t help but laugh a little “i don’t think you’ll ever surprise me by being nice, if you did it would be the end of the world.” she kissed the top of his head and jumped out of the bed “that’s my que I’m guessing.” she spoke as she made her way into the kitchen. “I figured you weren’t done.” she replied before bringing her hand up to the back of his neck, running her fingers through his hair “i know you feel shitty and you don’t want me bitching at you. I just wanted to help you feel better.”

“I think from now on just always expect me to be a total asshole. That makes it all the more of a surprise if one day I get hit in the head or something and it makes me into a nice guy.” He mumbled through the layer of pillow. “I’d feel better if I had soup..” He insinuated.

“I figured you weren’t done.” she replied before bringing her hand up to the back of his neck, running her fingers through his hair “i know you feel shitty and you don’t want me bitching at you. I just wanted to help you feel better.”

Elin had tossed herself onto her bed and gave her mother a call. Just as she was getting off the phone she saw Kai make his way into her room and plop down on her bed. She turned on her side and cuddled into him, moving her head under his arm “you done being an ass?” she asked softly.

Kai, despite letting her cuddle into im and even moving closer against her under the covers shook his head. “No. You are still gong to get the worst of me as you make me better.” He said now just adding coughs for effect.

Elin had tossed herself onto her bed and gave her mother a call. Just as she was getting off the phone she saw Kai make his way into her room and plop down on her bed. She turned on her side and cuddled into him, moving her head under his arm “you done being an ass?” she asked softly.

Elin stood there and closed her eyes for a moment as he spoke “don’t worry Kai, I’ll leave you alone for as long as you’d like from now on.” she watched him make his way back to the couch and sighed before heading down the hall to her room.

Knowing how harsh he was on Elin was eating at him more than he’d like. He wished he could take the guilt from her but just like the cold he had it was fighting him. So, he initially gave in and without a single word he walked into Elin’s room and moved into her bed, pushing his head into the pillow to hide his face from her. In the end she won.

Elin stood there and closed her eyes for a moment as he spoke “don’t worry Kai, I’ll leave you alone for as long as you’d like from now on.” she watched him make his way back to the couch and sighed before heading down the hall to her room.

The one thing Elin didn’t want to do was fight with Kai because she knew how stubborn he was and it would only be worse because he was sick, but here they were having another one of their yelling matches. Seeing him grab his keys and head towards the door she quickly rushed over and pinned herself between him and the door. “I’m not letting you leave. Not like this.” she whispered “if you want to go take care of that guy tonight then fine i won’t stop you then but you’re not going to a coffee shop filled with a bunch of people when you’re sick.” she finally looked up at him “I’ll leave you alone, I’ll stop fighting. Hell I’ll go to my room for the rest of the day as long as you go over there and take that medication and relax for a while.”

Kai stopped at the door and looked the girl in the eyes. She was too stubborn for him and he hated how much they competed with each other. “Why can’t you just leave me alone. Obviously I don’t want you trying to keep me around and two seconds ago you said you were done being nice. So move, Elin.” He was still going to protest. He tossed his keys back on the counter and moved back to the couch, sitting down and letting out the cough he’d been fighting.

You’re not strong enough to go deal with some asshole.” Elin smirked when she heard his next comment “I’m not bossing you around you dick. But you know what go do whatever you want like you always do. This is the last time i try to be nice to you.”

Kai inhaled sharply. “Don’t tell me I’m weak. I don’t care how sick I am I can do it.” He said trying to fight another fit of coughs He knew she was testing him, he wasn’t going to give in, he was already feeling shitty enough he didn’t want Elin to see him just give in. “If you think trying to keep me in here is being nice then get a better idea of your shit, I’m out of here.” He said with a huff as he took his keys and went for the door. “I already told you I didn’t need you to take care of me.”

“No you wouldn’t be able to take care of him. If there’s one thing my father taught me it’s you don’t let people see you weak and that’s exactly what you are right now. I’ll be able to take care of myself.” she argued “work will be there tomorrow, the fucking rat will be there tomorrow. Kai what are you planning on doing when you’re like this, coughing on him? Great plan.” she pulled her hand back quickly and shrugged “your body needs rest, it has to fight off what’s making you sick. if you don’t want to sleep fine, but you’re not leaving this apartment.”

Kai rolled his eyes. He just wanted to be moving, his mind never did well when it was sitting and while the fog of sickness making it worse he only hated it more. He was like a kid who needed something to distract him and sadly sitting on the couch was not enough. “I can do more than fucking cough, I could just take care of the asshole but instead I’m sitting here like some weak loser.” He turned to her with a frown. “I don’t know when you got to thinking you can boss me around.” He said with a cough and stood up. “I can do whatever I want to.” He moved to the kitchen in hopes to find something he could keep down.

“No you won’t have to take care of me because i already know that you won’t do that. I’ll be able to take care of myself.” she argued “work will be there tomorrow, the fucking rat will be there tomorrow. Kai what are you planning on doing when you’re like this, coughing on him? Great plan.” she pulled her hand back quickly and shrugged “your body needs rest, it has to fight off what’s making you sick. if you don’t want to sleep fine, but you’re not leaving this apartment.”

I dont like seeing you like this, for obvious reasons; you’re a big baby and you want to piss me off more than usual.” she leaned over and pulled on his hand “I’m trying to be a good girlfriend, can you just let me do that, please?”

“Yeah but if you get sick I will have to take care of you and I suck at that.” He said rolling his head away from her, staring out the window already bored with his quarantined area. “I’m only pissing you off because you wont let me just get to work. Elin, I have so much shit to do and tonight, I was supposed to deal with a fucking rat who thinks he can take over a few blocks in the north part of the island.” He scoffed as his hand was being pulled. “And how is sleeping going to make me feel better?”

Elin shook her head “i dont care if you get me sick, it won’t be the end of the world.” she looked over at him, a soft expression on her face “i just want you to be comfortable and relax a little bit. I dont like seeing you like this, for obvious reasons; you’re a big baby and you want to piss me off more than usual.” she leaned over and pulled on his hand “I’m trying to be a good girlfriend, can you just let me do that, please?”

Elin shook her head as Kai walked back past her, she stood there for a moment before following him down the sidewalk. She was honestly surprised that listened to her, she could tell how sick he was and she knew he needed to rest. Soon they had arrived at the apartment, without saying a word the entire walk. Once inside Elin put set the bag of items on the coffee table and sat down on the couch “Hate me all you want but i just want you to feel better.” She pat the couch “come lay down, I’ll rub your head and put you to sleep.”

Kai simply huffed all the way home. Not only was he going to be upset about having to skip work but he was going to grump about his sickness as well. And he knew Elin wanted to help which was why he was going to make it as hard on her as he could. “I don’t want to get you sick.” He mocked in her voice. As he threw himself on the opposite end of the couch from her and crossed his arms over his chest.

Elin shook her head as Kai walked back past her, she stood there for a moment before following him down the sidewalk. She was honestly surprised that listened to her, she could tell how sick he was and she knew he needed to rest. Soon they had arrived at the apartment, without saying a word the entire walk. Once inside Elin put set the bag of items on the coffee table and sat down on the couch “Hate me all you want but i just want you to feel better.” She pat the couch “come lay down, I’ll rub your head and put you to sleep.”

“Nobody wants you at the damn coffee shop when you’re sick like this!” she called after him “screw you, Kai. I’m trying to help you here, for once in your damn life just stop arguing. please come home with me, you need rest. tomorrow you can go back to work, I don’t care. but today you’re going to bed and I’m making you soup and you’re putting medication into your body. you’re not going to work, and that’s final.”

If Kai wasn’t so sick he would have kept walking, he would have just ignored her; but being the case that he was feeling so terrible he knew he had little fight actually in him. “God dammit.” He mumbled. Turning around he still was mad enough he couldn’t just move on and work so he walked past Elin with a frown not saying a word.
