Leaning back, the blonde crossed her legs and rested her elbow on the back of her chair, “ I dunno. I learned a long time ago you can’t just trust someone because they tell you,” she told him. It was true–and probably a bit deeper then the conversation called for–but true none the less. Katie seemed to have a long history of trusting the right people both personally and professionally which probably lead to her being the skeptic she was. “But,” she chimed back in, “I’m sure the drinks will help your case. You might get me to tell at least one, we’ll see.” she smiled.
“Oh, right, right, mid twenties–totally, so it must be something else” she lied with a chuckle, “Just not sure what,” she shrugged. Pointing at him in response with a smile she finished off her drink, “Very lucky for both of us,” she replied–she wondered if he already knew just how lucky it was for him, amusing herself. Her eyebrows shot up a bit when he divulged his go-to. It was definitely an interesting choice and not what she was expecting, especially because the song was iconically sung, so she assumed he either had a very good singing voice, or a terrible one. “I gotta say, I wasn’t expecting that but now I’m even more excited to hear it,” she told him before turning away and motioning back to the bartender who was sweet on her to bring them another round with a wink. “My go to? she said turning back to him, “I like to switch it up. I sing–sometimes–but for some reason I’ve always been a bit self conscious about it. So I like to keep stupid and stick to unconventional crowd pleasers. Good Vibrations, Gangsta’s Paradise. Ice, Ice, Baby, you know. True musical masterpieces.” she joked.
“But I promised,” he joked, acting as if he was offended even though he clearly wasn’t at all. “One is really all I ask. Over time, and plenty more drinks, I’ll get the rest,” he joked. Honestly, he wouldn’t push her on any of it, if she didn’t want to divulge then she didn’t have to. Who knew if they’d even see each other again after tonight.
“I feel like no one expects it,” he shrugged. It was true - no one ever did but that was the fun in it in his opinion, “If you’re lucky we’ll end up in a karaoke bar at some point tonight and I’ll treat you to a show.” Taking the freshly filled glass, he couldn’t help but chuckle a little at exactly how much the bartender was into Katie. He could see her serving other patrons and still glancing over towards the actress, seemingly keeping one eye on her at all times. Not that he could even blame her, there was no denying that Katie was stunning. “All classics,” he nodded, “though I’d prefer to see your rendition of Gangsta’s Paradise,” he said the title in the most british of accents which he knew likely sounded ridiculous. “By the way, its not my life mission to see you actually sing, so be prepared for that,” he took another sip and pivoted his barstool to face her just a bit more.

“Oh man, are you always this predictable?” Katie fake complained. Taking a sip of her drink, the actress narrowed her eyes at him and flashed him a sly smile, “I dunno…” she began, “MIght take more then a few drinks to get me to tell you the good stories. We just met, how do I know you won’t go out and leak all my shit?”she questioned. “You gotta do something to make me trust you first–then you’ll get the stories.” He had been right in thinking she had stories. She’d already decided to write her tell-all by 70.
Katie wasn’t blind to the fact that he was checking her out. In fact, she’d decided then and there that they were totally hooking up tonight. Anyone who knows Katie knows it’s not very hard for her to get what she wants. “You know what? I can relate, because tonight is the first night I’ve been out in ages. I used to go out all the time but–I dunno. I’ve also been especially lazy during hiatus–which is almost up–which isn’t really like me at all either. My age must be setting in,” she shrugged. “Well, lucky for me you weren’t too busy tonight,” she told him, cheers-ing her glass to his. “Not uh, are you really? I need details,” she said leaning closer, “What’s your go to song?”
“I know, I know. Its utterly disappointing,” he laughed. “Well, thats the plan isn’t it? The drinks are going to make you trust me and then you’ll open up and tell me all those fun little stories. I promise I’m a trust worthy person.” He retreated from how he was leaning in, going to back to a more normal posture, and took another sip from his drink.
“Oh no, surely not your age. You’re still young. What did we decide again? Mid twenties?” For him it was work, kids, wife, the whole nine yards that kept him from getting out as much but he wasn’t about to bore the girl with all that. “Lucky for both of us,” he corrected with a small smile. At the topic of karaoke Tom offered a small chuckle before he answered, “Its a bit of an unconventional go-to.” He couldn’t help but pause before he actually gave the answer. “Mustang Sally,” he laughed. Most people didn’t tend to gravitate towards that particular song and that wasn’t lost on Tom. Regardless, it was the song he had the most fun preforming and thus it ended up being his go-to. “What about you? Are you a secret karaoke star as well?” he questioned, draining the end of the drink he’d gotten not too long before.

“What’s that mean? Lot’s of tea and love for the Queen?” she joked before turning her attention back to the bar. Catching the girl’s wink, Katie’s eyebrows quirked up a bit before she ultimately sent the girl an appreciative smile back, biting on her lower lip a bit. “I know, I kind of love it,” she told him in a hushed voice before taking her own shot in her hand and gave him a rousing cheers before shooting it back. “Basically any other night out with yours truly, then.” Katie informed him with a wink.
After taking a sip of her now replenished drink, the girl finally stripped her jacket off and put it on the seat behind her, fully confirming she was here for the long haul. Leaning her elbow on the bar and resting her hand on her cheek looking over at him she pursed her lips, as if to think. “I’m up for all of the above, really.” she said with a shrug, “I kind of just like to see where the night takes me–or where the drinks take me. I guess that’s usually more accurate,” she laughed. “So is this your normal gig? Drinking, dancing and being a playboy out on the town–or are you usually more of a homebody?”
With a small laugh, Tom nodded at her joke, “You’ve hit the nail on the head, I’m afraid.” The man couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle as Katie more or less accepted and admittedly enjoyed the bartender’s not so subtle cues. “Oh, is that so? Maybe after a few more of these, he raised the shot glass, you’ll tell me a story or two about that debauchery.” For some reason, and he couldn’t say exactly what it was, he had the feeling that the woman he was out with had some stories.
Tom watched as she removed her jacket, his eyes not blind to the fact that she was showing more skin. Not much more, but enough to keep a man interested. He leaned in a bit as she did, as if in some sort of conspiracy with her. “I can respect that,” he nodded. He was cool with a fly by the seat type of night - he just hadn’t known if she was the type to be ok with that sort of thing. “Gig? No, not at all. I hardly get out any more, actually. Lifes just...busy,” he shrugged, “You know how it can be.” He was sure she did - after all they were in the same business. “I am a bit of a Karaoke star though, I must say,” he offered, leaning back and taking another decent sip of his drink.

Do you like to be called daddy in the bedroom?
No, not really. See, I have kids so I quite regularly get called daddy and I simply don’t prefer it in an erotic setting.

Watching him with a bemused face as he tried to piece together how she’d known him, shaking her head with a small laugh as he finally seemed to get there. “Katie, yep. That’s me, not some crazed stalker–don’t worry.” she said taking a sip of her drink and raising it in his direction. “You as well, it’s always so funny to me, talking to someone in the business on Twitter and then actually meeting them. Like–I had zero clue you were British, now I know..” she told him. Alright so maybe that was a lie and she’d done a very quick skim of a google search on the guy after seeing his twitter icon and had found him attractive–but that was actually all knew.
“Oh! So you’re her friend, alright. Makes sense now. I just met her recently, too. She said she was getting together with a friend–I didn’t know it was you.” she told him. Maybe she should had done more research on the two of them before going out–she wouldn’t have felt so left in the dark. Was that a thing people in their line of work did, she wondered to herself. Katie wasn’t sure, but now she was starting to feel like a creep, so she brushed the thoughts away. Looking at her phone, she saw Inbar had texted her back, but before she could read it she could hear the man now next to her say they’d been stood up. Taking the last sip of her drink, she pushed the empty glass next to Tom’s empty, “Make that two, please. And two shots of Tequila.” she told the bartender. “Sure, I’ll stay,” the blonde said, turning in her seat back to look at him. “But I was promised a fun, drink fuelled night–so you better hold up your end of the bargain of being a good time.” she smirked.
“Quite painfully British, actually,” he laughed. “But yes - it can be...unnerving at times for sure. But alas, here we are,” he offered a friendly smile. As the lady bartender filled their drinks and placed the shots in front of the two of them, she looked in Katie’s direction and offered the girl a wink. “Oh, I think you’ve got a fan,” Tom said under his breath to Katie before thanking the woman. “I think I can fulfill that promise,” he raised his shot glass to hers, “To a drink fueled night of debauchery.” After her class touched his, the man tossed his head back and swallowed the clear liquor.
“So what did you have on your mind for this night of fun?” he asked, “Dancing? Karaoke, just straight up shots? I’m on board with whatever you’ve got in mind, I just need a basic blueprint to go by.” Picking up the glass that was filled he took a generous sip and discretely took the girl in. There was no denying she was beautiful. What exactly was Inbar’s aim here? He seriously doubted that something had actually come up - his friend lived for carefree nights out like this so why did she cancel last minute? Pulling his mind from all that he brought his attention fully back to the present.

Honestly, it felt good going out, meeting new people. Katie seemed to be a creature of habit, lately. For the last few years, to be more specific. Hanging out with the same people, doing the same thing. It wasn’t that she was complaining–she was currently surrounded by the most loyal group of friends and family the girl’s ever known to date. But still, Inbar was a breath of fresh air. The blonde knew she wasn’t getting any younger–but she still just wasn’t ready to settle down and have kids, like so many of her friends seemed to be doing. She wasn’t ready to give up her career OR free time just yet.
Walking into the bar where the other actress had said they were going to meet for drinks with another friend of her’s, Katie took a look around. She didn’t see anyone she knew–or Inbar–so she decided to belly up to the bar and order a drink. They’d just have to catch up whenever they got here. Taking a sip of her vodka and lime cocktail, Katie pulled her phone out of her back pocket. Pulling up her messages, she began typing:
Bitch, where the hell are you? I hate drinking alone. Hurry your ass up! :P
Hitting send the actress placed her phone on the bar and looked around once more before noticing a slightly familiar face headed her way. Perking up in her seat to get his attention before he walked right by her Katie called out, Hey, I know you…kinda.” she smirked, not sure if he even knew who she was from their two, brief interactions. “Tom, right?”
@ellis-tom-ellis
Sipping an Old Fashioned, Tom glanced around the bar to see if Inbar had arrived. They’d agreed to meet at the side of the bar he was currently seated at but Inbar was the type to get chatty with just about anyone so it could have taken her an hour to get from the entrance to their designated meeting place. But alas, no Inbar. Not anywhere to be found, actually. And she was supposed to bring a friend or something - she’d mentioned in a lengthy text he’d only skimmed.
As he took another sip he suddenly realized he was being spoken to by - someone that looked familiar - he couldn’t place who she was for a few moments and the sentiment played on his face. But then it hit him, this was the girl he’d talked to before, “Katie, is it? Yes, I’m Tom. Nice to meet you in the flesh,” he smiled, offering her the seat next to him. “Are you by chance here to meet a friend? Inbar perhaps?” he probed. Call it a gut feeling but he somehow knew this was the friend that was supposed to be tagging along with him and Inbar.
Taking the last sip of his drink, he slid the glass forward for a refill and slid his phone from the pocket of his jeans. Opening the messaging app he read the unopened message silently Hey bud, sorry - something came up and I couldn’t make it. Have fun with Katie ;-). Something came up, sure. Locking the phone and placing it back in his pocket he put his attention back on Katie. “It appears we’ve been stood up,” he chuckled, “But I promise I’m a good time if you’ll stay and keep me company.”

MzKatieCassidy: And that's all fine and well @TomEllis17 but I didn't say I was there to talk to a mom. I'm there to drop a dude off and leave! Make it his moms problem.
TomEllis17: @MzKatieCassidy But it won't fix anything is my meaning. Mums just going to make us dinner and do our laundry.

MzKatieCassidy: Girls, the next time your man acts crazy--try this. Bring him back to his mom and drop his ass off until he starts acting right. It works with kids, so I think we should make this a thing.
TomEllis17: @MzKatieCassidy I'd get my mum on my side in a heartbeat. Don't under estimate the love mothers have for their sons, it runs deep. Its almost as if we can do no wrong.

Is married life all that it's cracked up to be?
Well, yes, it is. I believe in the institution of marriage so for me I don’t look at it as being trapped or anything like some do.

What do you think of cheating? What would you do if you were cheated on?
I’ve been there and done that, mate. I’m not saying it was right, I’m just saying I’ve done it. If I were cheated on? Well, I’d try to understand and work through it, obviously. Especially since the show has been on the other foot in the past.
