Samurai Helmet - A heavy iron and black lacquer zunari kabuto (head shaped helmet) belonging to a samurai of the Maeda clan. With embossed eyebrows and a finely modeled "rear victory mountain" head form, this helmet sports a very large pair of kuwagata (stylized deer horns) embracing an unusually large mon (clan symbol) depicting the stylized plum blossom associated with the powerful Maeda clan. Edo Period, c. 1800
