amazing that usamericans never say the "50 countries in a trenchcoat" line or whatever to highlight the incredible diversity and number of indigenous nations subjugated by the united states of america but instead exclusively to try and tell (often equally racist) europeans that texas and california are as different as france and germany (not true!)

ur tabletop takes are fucking insufferable i can't stand the constant 5e hate coming from u and ur cliquewhat does it matter if i want to use 5e to play everying, do u want me to learn a new game for every setting? let people play what they want, u have no right to tell me what to play
Lemme screenshot something real quick.

Like. If you find my opinions so insufferable then good news! you aren’t forced to look at my blog or the blog of any of the handful of intense weirdos who agree with me. Blogs that post nothing but 5e content outnumber us dozens to one, go follow those instead.
WotC has largely succeeded in getting every mainstream space within this hobby to cater to people who think exactly like you. The idea that it’s okay to never branch out from d&d and you can hack d&d for any setting you wanna play doesn’t need to be defended, it’s the default opinion in this hobby.
Go to any popular tabletop space and the most common response you’ll find to “i want to play a game set in ______” is “here’s how to reskin d&d for it”. Many publishers are releasing 5e conversions of their non-d&d games, or straight up ditching their own in-house systems in favor of 5e because they know they won’t sell enough to stay afloat otherwise. Go to the RPG section of a bookstore and non-5e material will take up at best a tiny fraction of the shelf space if there is any at all.
You won. Your opinion is the dominant one and still you can’t resist the urge to butt in on the little spaces that people who don’t agree with it have carved for ourselves just to rile yourself up about the fact that we don’t share the dominant opinion in the hobby.

stop associating luigi magione with the insurance assassination. he hasn't pleaded guilty, he hasn't been proven guilty, and he is clearly not the guy who did it. every time you people of the general public take the state's case at face value that he's the assassin you're pushing mangione (an innocent patsy) on step closer to the electric chair.

It's important to remember that Luigi Mangione is being framed for murder. The "evidence" they have on him is absolute clown shoes absurd.
They're trying to win this by swaying public opinion. That's why they're doing movie deals about it and staging ridiculous photo ops.
They're gonna try to give this kid the death penalty to cover up for their own gross incompetence and in the hopes that they scare the working class out of trying to fight back.
Please don't help them do this by using his name as a synonym for political assassinations. Please do not perpetuate the idea that he's guilty.

Yk despite it's many failings, especially in the department of not always being able to land the dire tone for the main quest (and squandering the antagonists bc we don't see MORE of them) god if the Mythic Dawn/Mankar Camoran aren't just. so interesting. And such a good example of using religion/cultish bullshit to go against your own supposed "values" in a bid for power.
Camoran is a conman. Claims to worship the prince of violent change/revolution: however his bloodline is tantamount. His heritage and what he's "owed" the major point of pride. Claims to want to liberate Tamriel but the first city attacked (and the most violently destroyed) is Kvatch - the city that had also been sacked by his own tyrant father who had tried to conquer the entire continent in a majorly bloody war. Kvatch was a vanity project. To the point he saw extra resources put in to open a great gate there, specifically. It's not that the Empire is corrupt (it is) or colonialist (it is) and changes need to be made for the betterment of everyone - it's that the royal line that currently runs the Empire, the Septims, aren't HIS. Camoran fully believes he deserves to be in their place instead, and that includes all of - if not more - of the oppressive systems that make an empire an empire. To the point that he literally throws his own men into the metaphysical meat grinder because he deluded them into thinking they're somehow not going to be victims like everyone else.
I don't think Dagon even really gave a shit about Camoran. I think he, being a daedra, knew it was essentially another Usurper War brewing, and figured the best thing that could happen is that both the Camoran and Septim lines come to an end.
#scrolled through like a week and a half of my likes to find this post#so it can sit next to my previous reblog#worth it

idk how well this stands up when you consider that he actually basically got nothing but wins out of the Oblivion crisis. he's a god of revolution and chaos, and the Oblivion crisis saw to the dissolution and overturning of both the Camoran and the Septim dynasties, which led directly to the Empire that ruled over Tamriel for over 400 years being severely crippled, and the ending of the 3rd Era.
the argonian slave revolt and sacking of Morrowind by argonian forces wouldn't have been possible without Mehrunes Dagon and his oblivion gates. the rise of the reformed Aldmeri Dominion wouldn't have been possible without Mehrunes Dagon and his oblivion gates. the secession of most of Tamriel's provinces from the Empire wouldn't have been possible without Mehrunes Dagon and his Oblivion gates. Ulfric's rebellion wouldn't have been possible without Mehrunes Dagon and his Oblivion gates.
in TESV, pretty much every faction you see is a shadow of their TESIV counterparts. Tamriel as we know it is radically different in Skyrim than it was in all previous Elder Scrolls games, and that's almost entirely either directly or indirectly because of the daedric prince of revolution and the plots he pulls off in Oblivion. you can't handwave that away by being like "he's just like joe rogan, guys!!" just because he doesn't succeed in completely burning Tamriel to the ground which, arguably, was never even his goal in the first place, merely something he convinced Mankar Camoran he wished to do in order to manipulate him into carrying out his will, and in doing so, bringing ruin to both his own dynasty, and the Septim empire.
tldr; 200 years after Mehrunes Dagon's invasion of Mundus, the people of Tamriel are still dealing with the fallout of the chaos he sowed and the revolutions that occurred because of him. I'd say that's a pretty solid gambit for a god of revolution and chaos.
I think people misinterpret Mehrunes Dagon.
He's not a jock. He's not a screaming angry animal, not openly.
He's a schemer, a plotter, an urbane, well-spoken gentleman, a philosopher- or so he thinks.
Haskill describes him as the most imcompetant schemer in the Realms, but he is a schemer.
In Battlespire, we speak to him, and he's urbane and polite, or least seemingly urbane and polite.
That word, 'seeming.' Dagon seems polite, even when trying to kill you. Dagon seems philosophical when quoted by Camoran. He seems a skilled plotter when we look at the Mythic Dawn assassinating the Emperor and invading Mundus. Seems.
But consider. He's polite, when trying to kill you. His quotes seem philosophical, but they're just 'Neener neener, everyone's gonna see I'm toughest and I'll crush them, you'll see.' His plots fall apart because he didn't reallize the famously-adulterous Uriel Septim would have bastards.
Dagon's not a drooling barbarian, he's worse- a pretentious, pseudointellectual midwit might-makes-right asshole. He's every alt-right 'dark enlightenment' statue PFP, all fake intelligence and mangled philosophy and sloppy 'plotting' over a complete lack of emotional control and a deep desire to just smash everything complicated while bitterly envying and desiring the sophistication he mocks, but can only fumble the performance of and then crush in a rage.
Comparisons to various manosphere personalities, I leave to the reader.

Im sure by now many of you have already read or heard about this Haaretz article that talks about how 82% of Israelis approve of the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
That same poll also shows that nearly half, 47%, approve of the genocide and believe every Palestinian in Gaza should be killed.
The survey was conducted in March by Israeli scholar Tamir Sorek, a professor at Pennsylvania State University. He worked with the Israeli polling firm Geocartography Knowledge Group.

Most of the Israelis you come across are bad people. Almost all of them approve of the genocide in some shape or form.
These are the people who Palestinians have been dealing with. How does any normal person support these kind of ideologies? Makes me sick to my stomach
#a couple of my friends think im going too far snd being unfair when i say the majority of israelis are subuman dogs with no soul#but here we have some concrete data proving i am correct
