Richie gets a job across town from the college campus and the football field. About a dozen shops serve coffee between him and Max Jagerman. Unfortunately for Richie, that doesn't stop their paths from crossing. A bit of slow-burn fluff! I've never written multi-chapter so please be patient, I'm busy between my graduation and work lol

Adding onto this- very canon adjacent though.

The post before this said that Football isn’t his passion- and neither is colorguard. So what is it? In my version of him, it is dance. His mother’s favorite show when he was young, 3-10, was dancing with the stars! So he watched a loooooottt of dance. He was a huge mama’s boy, so whatever she liked, he liked. Around six, she put him in dance classes! And those went on until he was 8 and his father found out. Everything about it kind of unraveled after that point, and he didn’t touch it at all after his mom died.

In college, when he’s safe from the grips of his father, he takes these classes again! Purely for fun and nostalgia, but he quickly finds he enjoys it. He still keeps track on football, however- since he put so much time into it. And he was good at it, mise well follow it through, right? So, for now his silly dance is something on the side! But it won’t be forever :)

He mostly does Paso Doble, but he dabbled in tango and salsa a bit. I think he likes the fast pace of Paso more, and the fact that it’s about bullfighting.

His mom was half Spanish, so he’s roughly a quarter. She died when he was around 11, but he can remember how active she was in the history and culture of her side of the family. She started teaching him Spanish but never finished, so he taught himself the rest. He was fluent around 16.

His grandparents from his mother side are still alive, and he reaches out to them every once in a while! They’re there for his high school graduation! Late, but there! They aren’t aware of how his father is, otherwise he’d be living with them during HS.

Continuing from the last post!

These ones are more stray-from-canon then other ones- but I wanted to have fun with his after-HS life, so :)

For a short time, in football off-season, he’s in a private color-guard group! He always breaks his rifle on the last throw, which is expensive but became a show staple. He pays for the new ones lol. The captain started buying him progressively harder woods, he got up to hickory before he had to physically snap it over his leg at the end. They’re given up trying to save them.

He actually really isn’t into football. His dad is super into it- being an ex-quarterback for an A-list team. He lost the role due to people outside the ‘inside group’ finding out he was using enhancing drugs on the field.

Utterly pissed him off- so he pushed his football dream onto Max. He enjoys the game, thankfully, but it still is not his passion.
