FINALS EXAMS (Dun Dun DUNNNNNN)
1) Make a final exams schedule (Use the one Joanna had you make). Thereâs nothing worse than realizing you have two exams at the same time (take care of this immediately if you do) or figuring out you have no time to study in between two finals. BE ORGANIZED!
2) Attend review sessions and ASK QUESTIONS. Professors often use review sessions as a time to give the students who show they are dedicated and actually attend the review session, some tips on how to pass their final.Â
3) Take study breaks and let your brain rest. You wonât be able to memorize or comprehend all the material at once. Balance is key â ensure that you reward learning with break times to recharge and relax.
4) SLEEP!!!! This might be the most important advice that we can give you. You might think you don't have time to, but your mind wonât be able to focus and remember what you studied if you donât.
5) Quiz yourself. If you create pretend exam questions, you will likely become more familiar with what you need to study and familiarize yourself with the type of language that will be on the exam.Â
6) Plan out your exam days! Write down a brief schedule of when you are going to study for each test, take each test, eat lunch, sleep, cry, etc.. It helps having a plan.

So midterms just happened...
STAY CALM! These were your first midterms of your college career and I know they seem overwhelming. If you didnât get the grade you were hoping for on your tests, there are so many options for you to get back on track.Â
1) Office Hours
-Go to your teachers offie hours and explain your concerns, they are waiting for you to speak up. Email them to set up a meeting or just simply drop by their office to express your thoughts on the class and your progress with the material. Office hours are a perfect way to have a private conversion with your professor about anything on your mind.
2) Tutoring CenterÂ
-Make an appointment with a tutor and start studying for your tests earlier. You are allowed 2 hours per week, so you should use that time to catch up on homework, study for tests or to understand concepts that are unclear. Â This is also extremely helpful if your tutor has had the same professor as you before... they know how the class goes!Â
3) Study GroupsÂ
-FInd a group of students in your class to study with, just be careful to stay on topic. Sometimes itâs nice to chat with other students about a concept that you donât totally understand. Your friends have different strengths than you do, so use that to your advantage. Also, this creates some productive study time without being locked in a cubby.Â
4) Ask for help!!!
-Whether its your professor, a friend, a parent, etc. donât be afraid to speak up and ask for help. Â If you need an extension on an assignment: have a valid reason and send an email. If you need more help with a topic: have your professor go over it with you outside of class. They are here to help you succeed, trust me! :)Â
5) BREATHE!Â
-Everything is going to be alright :D The first couple tests are going to be the most stressful, but once you learn how each of your professors give out tests, you will be golden grahams when itâs time for the final.

How to deal with college when you are STRESSED AF
We know college is stressful, especially your freshman year. There are so many adjustments to make, endless studying, barely enough time for Netflix, and you arenât sleeping nearly as much as you should be⌠So the question is, what are some tips to deal with this unavoidablely huge amount of stress that you have on your shoulders? Em and M are here to help!!!
1. Set aside some time for YOURSELF. Â Give yourself 10 minute study breaks every half hour/hour. Trust us, itâll help make those long hours of studying that much more bearable. AND itâll help you focus.
2. EAT well, SLEEP better. When you eat healthy, it helps you focus more and do better on assignments (shocking right?). Plan out your studying when you know you have a big test coming up. Pulling all nighters the night before a test will actually be less beneficial then studying for a few hours and getting some sleep under your belt. You will be more aware during your test and probably get a better grade than trying to cram everything in last minute.
3. PRIORITIZE. Weâve been over this⌠make a list, do what is most important on your list, and check everything off as you complete it. Itâll make you feel more productive and motivate you to get all your sh** done. :)
4. Reward yourself. You did it! You deserve a little treat for getting through the week! Whether you watch some Netflix, get a little midnight snack at Cheesewalla or Crepes of Wrath, whatever your heart desires. College is hard, but you are doing it, and doing it well. Em and M are v proud of yâall. <3

Wanna make $5??
GET YOUR FLU SHOT!!! The Student Health Center is offering to pay YOU $5 for getting your flu shot. You can choose to keep the money or donate it to a local charity.
But WHY should I get one?Â
-Itâs flu season!
-Influenza is a respiratory illness contracted through viruses that are spread when people cough, sneeze or talk (USA Today College)
-Symptoms of the flu can last up to a week and include fever, sore throat, headaches, cough, aches, congestion and fatigue (AKA you will miss class and get super duper behind and stressed)
-The flu shot is the most effective method to protect against this virus and its related complications.
-Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others.

Hi... I was just wondering what your favorite restaurant downtown to eat at is? Asking for a friend :)
Oh hi!! Itâs Emily :) As you all know, I love food... so this question is hard. Â BUT... if I had to choose... I think I would pick Gourmet Pizza Company. Â Itâs located on State Street (aka downtown) and they have the BEST pizza. Â Also, if youâre feeling frisky you can get mashed potatoes or mac n cheese on your pizza too!! Itâs really fun and you should definitely bring your family/friends there for some pizza :)
Hey..... itâs Mandy now. Â I have many favorites (and they are mostly all dessert related), but if I had to choose one... it would probably be Eureka Burger! I love this place because you can get sweet potato fries and delicious burgers. Â The vibe is super cool and you guys should definitely try it out!Â
TA TA FOR NOW!!!!! ;)

Em&M Background
So... we met each other approximately three years ago, when we started school at the University of Redlands, where we both compete as track and field athletes. The CHEMISTRY between us was no funny BUSINESS (our majors LOL). We became roommates our sophomore year, and have been inseparable ever since. Our love for cleanliness, fitness, and adventureness truly bonded us. Some of our favorite activities to do together include discovering cute coffee shops, speaking with strange abbreviations, engaging in cuddle puddles, and deep cleaning (this includes lint rolling our savvy rug).
We travelled abroad to Salzburg, Austria, last Fall of 2016, which is where we met the most awesome professor of our lives JOANNA BIERI. Joanna came to Salzburg to teach us a math course almost identical to the one you will be taking this semester. GET EXCITED.
So youâre probably wondering why we are here... and the answer is simple. We are your peers, and we are here to advise you. AKA let us guide you through your first exciting semester of college. WAYHO. Please comment on our posts, whether you have a question, recommendation, or just a simple compliment ;)Â
SO STOKED TO BE YOUR FRIEND IF YOUâLL LET US.
ta ta for now.
