I love the flavor in menace and killing a creature right away, it’s a fast and agile robot that rolls in and blindsides a creature and its too agile to be blocked by only one creature its great and i love the gearhulks

Kaladesh storyline starts SOON AAAAAAHAHAHA
The Eldritch Moon storyline ended with a bang a month ago. Very, very soon, we kick off the Kaladesh storyline, and it’ll get going FAST. This week you’ll get to meet some new people, hear more about Saheeli Rai, and read a few tidbits about what event is buzzing on Chandra’s home plane.
Tumblr media
And then in less than a week, as a legion of WotC folks heads to PAX West THIS COMING WEEKEND HOLY SMOKES, we’ll blow the doors open, spilling an avalanche of ingenious invention-y details about Kaladesh the world and Kaladesh the set. Streamed panels, social media reveals, discussions from pros, cosplay, a blast of Magic Story episodes, behind-the-scenes making-of anecdotes – you know, the stuff we like to do around PAX time.
We got a glimpse of Kaladesh last year in Magic Origins, but I can honestly say that we’ve barely scratched the polished copper surface of this place. I am just brain-poppingly excited – like pawing-my-own-face anxiouscited and happyfreaked – that we’ll finally get to share all the work that went into Kaladesh.

Note
This would be pretty cool
Any chance of a set that explores the "Draft Matters" space that Conspiracy does, but geared toward one-on-one and not multiplayer?
There is. Who of you would be interested in a one-on-one draft matters product?

Magic: the Gathering - Conspiracy Draft
Get some practice in before the weekend’s release of Conspiracry: Take the Crown by ripping virtual boosters over at MTG-Gen (http://mtgen.net/cn2/).
Rather happy with the packs above (http://mtgen.net/cn2?draw=9Gzkcc) - looks like I’m going green / red in this draft - let’s hope I get passed some more goodies.  :)

Lazav and Seek Puzzle #002
Oh no! Lazav has snuck inside your old Abzan standard deck! Fortunatley, you managed to find a note he left for his fellow Dimir agents that tells them which card he’s hiding as. In the note, Lazav says the following rules about his card:
I’m disguised as a permanent.
I’m next to exactly two creatures.
I’m next to exactly to white cards.
I’m not disguised as a green card.
Oh, there’s just one little catch: Lazav is a sneaky Dimir agent, so you know that one of these rules is a lie.
Can you figure out which card Lazav is hiding as? “Next to,” refers to the cards directly above, under, and to the left and right of a card. (For example, Warden of the First Tree is “next to” four Den Protectors.)
The solution will be posted next Tuesday.

Conspiracy: Take the Crown Mythics (so far) and Commander
Kaya, Ghost Assassin
Tumblr media
I think Kaya will find a home in many different Commander decks across the globe, despite not having access to a haymaker ultimate. While Commander is a format of big games with big plays, you can never underestimate tiny strokes of incremental value. Exiling a creature of your own to survive a boardwipe? That’s value. Slowly chipping away at your opponents’ life totals while bolstering your own? That’s value. A 3-5 card swing against your foes’ collective hands? That’s value. When the Akroma’s Vengeances of the world come to reset your board back to square one, your Angels and Demons won’t remain…but the value gained through carefully planned use of any of Kaya’s three abilities will.
Queen Marchesa
Tumblr media
As a commander that’s either providing board presence, card advantage, or constant pressure to opposing life totals, I can easily see Marchesa newest incarnation becoming a fan favorite. She provides much needed variety in Mardu colors and lends herself to a vast array of different deck shells. Mardu Pillow Fort is probably the most unique of these, packing rattlesnakes like No Mercy to keep the life total high and the cards flowing in. The Poisonmaster Monarch also lends herself to ever-beloved theme decks with her history and suite of abilities.
Expropriate
Tumblr media
Talk about your haymakers! While Commander games tend to run long enough for this doozy of Time Warp to be cast fair-and-square, High-Tide Blue decks, Simic/Sultai ramp decks, and Mizzix will be looking to fire an Expropriate off as soon as possible. In most cases, this will end up as a Time Warp and Blatant Thievery rolled into one. For only two more mana than the latter spell, it’s hard to complain with the results! Combine with Illusion of Choice for a volley of extra turns that will make your opponents’ heads spin!
Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast
Tumblr media
Rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated! Daretti is back and with one heck of a mean streak. While you could slot the goblin genius into any appropriately colored deck with a handful of artifacts, the mechanical mastermind feels most at home in a Mishra combo deck or a Shattergang Brothers midrange where all three of his abilities can be used to the full extent of their potential. Cashing in an Ichor Wellspring for both a card and an explosion makes for a powerful play as early as turn two or three!
Leovold, Emissary of Trest
Tumblr media
Let me make this clear. I don’t think our Trestian friend here will find himself on the multiplayer banned list any time soon.
On his own, he’s an efficient way to make sure you’ll always have more card advantage than your opponents. That gives any player who knows what they’re doing enough reason to keep him from sticking around long enough to be paired with what makes this elf truly monstrous. Still, he’s in the perfect colors to tutor up synergy and protect himself, so be ever cautious of Leovold’s (and the ones who sleeve him up as the Commander’s) handshake.
Sanctum Prelate
Tumblr media
I’m not sold on this lovely lady in multiplayer Commander. She’ll minorly inconvenience a player or two while the third opponent just uses a spell that was one number above or below the chosen numeral to remove her influence. While clearly a powerful card, the Prelate has bigger formats to fry.
Subterranean Tremors
Tumblr media
The last mythic we’ve been shown so far is probably my favorite, because it does two things exceptionally well. For one, it’s multifaceted. This can function as a pyroclasm effect, a full on board wipe, a shatterstorm, and a Kaiju. The second thing that makes it stand out to me personally is the potential upgrade to a card I already play whenever I get the chance. Most of the times I’m casting a vandalblast, I wouldn’t mind losing my one artifact I’ve managed to land to destroy all the others. For the same converted mana cost of 4R, you can destroy all artifacts AND clear the board of pesky early game creatures. Many red-splashing control decks will leap at the chance to destroy multiple problems across multiple card types all at once. Bringing Godzilla along for the ride is just gravy.
